My daughter has been dancing for eight years and has hated every pair of ballet shoes. Her new instructor recommended this style and we love them. They are the most comfortable pair she has ever had.

ruraldweller11/28/2015BAGGY SHOES AND SHIPPING, SHIPPING
I am SO done ordering shoes from DDS. My 11 year old daughter wears a womans 7.5 street shoe, with collapsed arches and severe pronation. In other words, she has a wide foot. We ordered an 8 and she was swimming in it. By the time I return these ballet flats and jazz shoes, reorder 4 more pair, ( I always order 2 of ballet and two of jazz to try and mitigate the SHIPPING ) because the sizing is always all over the map. I will have spent enough in shipping to have paid for two pair of shoes. Where is the discount? Perhaps if you live in a large community and there are dance supply stores available to try shoes on, DDS would be the way to go.

LittleMissBallerina150103/02/2014SHOES THAT ENHANCE ARCHES BUT LACK DURAB
Beautiful shoes. However, my most recent pair looked TERRIBLE after 7 months of dancing about 10 hours a week, so if you want super durable shoes, you're at the wrong webpage. But the benefits outweigh the costs - I'm buying more ;)

BalletMama3309/13/2013VERY COMFY, NT DURABLE
I LOVE the comfort of these shoes! I take class and teach in them about 5 hours per week. However their durability is lacking. I wore big holes in them in less than one dance season. I will definitely be ordering the leather version of these to extend durability but the style is foot appealing and comfortable! I wear a size 9.5 in street and the 7.5 fits me great. I would recommend getting fitted before buying online! Happy dancing!

Pippen05/15/2013VERY DISAPPOINTED
I have been admiring these shoes for so long and finally got a pair when my old ballet slippers were beyond repair. When they came in the mail, I couldn't wait to wear them for dance that day. I hurried to put my tights on so I could see how they would feel while dancing. I opened the package and was very disappointed. I didn't like them at all. The color was too light. The picture made them seem darker than they truly are. I put them on with my tights and they were at least 3 shades lighter than my tights. I didn't like that at all. I wear a 6.5 street shoe so my feet are on the smaller side, but these shoes made my feet look microscopic. They look really pretty in the picture, but I guess the model had larger feet. I ordered a 4B (which my other slippers were and they were the same brand) and they were too large. These shoes might be for someone else, but they aren't for me.

Xazzie03/23/2013FINALLY SOME UNIQUE BALLET SHOES
I'm very particular about line and fit, which is precisely why I chose these. Overall, I would definitely recommend them over most of the technique shoe options out there. But I had to modify these to make them right for me.
The Elastosplit sole (or lack of it) is well cut and adheres to the arch of my foot. But what is not great is that the vamp of these shoes is extremely high. This is what I modified.
I put on my Elastosplits, marked a point about 1.5 inches below the existing vamp, drew a V-shaped line from the elastic attachment to the mark, and then cut along the V with scissors. The result is an elegant V-shaped vamp that is much lower and more attractive. Combined with the cutout sole, these shoes now look great. and I've noticed no issues with regard to fit or performance.
The only issue I'd say is that the heel feels a bit too roomy. But that may be a sizing issue moreso than a cut issue.
So I'd highly recommend these for making a better line, highlighting the arch, and giving an experienced dancer more ability to feel the floor. But I'd also recommend taking some scissors and making these even better.

dance4love01/02/2013COMFORTABLE NOT DURABLE
these shoes are really comfortable! i have had a pair for a year , dancing about five -six ours a week and about halfway through they developed rather large holes and i patched them up however now they are a little small now. They hug my arch well and i put them through the washing machine and only the neoprene triangle wore out. i would definetly reccomend getting the leather ones wich i will:) oh and doing leg mounts and stuff like that doesnt work, the heel just comes of.

I bought them thinking that they would hug my arches a little better. The result was mediocre. As the weather got colder, they started to feel increasingly uncomfortable when my feet were on the floor. Plus I had an accident during pirouette. I'm not sure if it was the slippers or the floor, but I was spun out of the front of my slipper, which was a unique result from the elastic attachments. That really scared me. I'm going back to traditional slippers.

dancer11108/25/2012COMFTY AND BREATHABLE
I usually have a street shoe size of either 6.5 or 7 and I ordered a 5 and they fit like a doll! There is the little bit of baggage in the toe area but if someone has straight across toes I am sure this problem would not exist. They are really soft and comfortable and they really make the arch look beautiful! I really hate wearing shoes to dance in because I am more of a modern dancer and these are a perfect alternative so my feet don't stick in ballet! LOVE THESE

sophiebun08/12/2012VERY COMPHY, FIT MY FOOT AS IT GROWS :)
I had lost my ballet shoes before class one day and the teacher told me to go to the lost and found to get some. I have pretty big feet i wear a 9.5 right now and i tend to grow out of my shoes very fast. So i went to the lost and found and saw hese shoes and put them on and they fit perfectly. I'm very picky about ballet shoes as well. Most of the ballet shoes i have tried on have this awkward gap eaither in the heel or the arch and these don't. They fit my for a long time too plus they are flatering and comphy! The only downside for me is the canvis does wear out pretty fast where you big toe is but i wear mine about 4 hours a week and i teach in them. These are the only ballet shoes i have bout for 6-7 years now:)

Reba06/23/2012GREAT FOR HIGHLY ARCHED FEET
My daughter has very, VERY arched feet. These shoes are her favorite for ballet. They feel great and look great. Only thing is the canvas doesn't last as long as we'd like - she has just got a hole in a pair I bought in March, on the sole right beside the leather patch. But she does dance in them a LOT, and she teaches a primary ballet class at our church in a room with low, flat berber carpet, and also rehearses on that carpet sometimes as well, which probably wears them out faster than regular smooth floors. Also, I must say that the picture, if you use the zoom, is not accurate for the fabric. It appears in the zoom to be very thick and coarse, but it is actually just regular canvas like most ballet slippers.

OldKitri06/18/2012WISH I ORDERED A SIZE SMALLER
im a size 7.5 to 8 streetsize. i ordered a 5.5D. wish i ordered a size smaller and in a C.
but still, they look great on my feet. ill try to make a way to make it a bit smaller by adjusting the garter (hope i dont ruin them in the process).
it takes a bit of getting used to. but then again, whats not to love about it? it shows off my arch really well. im happy with it.
i would suggest though to have yourself fitted in the store first before ordering them online. now i know... :)

When I first got these they were a little tight and pinched, but as I wore them more and more they stretched out and formed to my foot. I love them now that they fit, and they have been very durable! I've had the same pair for two years now and they have not ripped or even shown signs of tearing. Very good shoes that I would recommend to anyone.

Melissa03/11/2010 Los Angeles, Ca,LOVE HATE RELATIONSHIP
I went to get fitted for a new pair of slippers when my also new Sansha Pro slippers were causing me extreme pain and making it impossible to balance. I tried these on out of sheer curiosity and I loved them. They made my arch look amazing (it's moderate to slightly high) and I loved the barefoot feeling they gave me. However, I wore them around my carpeted house to break them in before class and they ended up stretching too much so they ended up being big. Luckily (for me), I noticed they are also defective or maybe just poorly made and the inside lining was already coming apart. It is just glued in and not sewn in, so it might be an overall design flaw. I'm sad they ended up not working, but when I went to get fitted for yet another pair of slippers, I discovered Grishko's Model 1 slipper and they are amazing, so I will not be giving these slippers another try until they change the lining. Besides the lining they are absolutely phenomenal!

I can't believe the amount of mobility these shoes provide! Not to mention the way they make your feet look! AMAZING! They hug your feet and the best part is there is NO bunching under the toes! LOVE LOVE LOVE! They take a bit to get used to since they're shaped like no other ballet slipper... but you will never turn back to the alternative after you have worn these!

Charlotte11/15/2009 A2, Mi,AMAZING, BUT I MADE A MISTAKE....
Even though I can't wear these shoes anymore, I give them a 5.
In Bloch, I usually wear 5.5 B (that's how I was fitted for the leather Prolite's in a local dance shop), and I was about to go to my summer intensive with no shoes to wear after my leather ones wore down.
I bought these in 5.5 B, and when I got them, I thought they fit perfectly...AND THEY SHOWED OFF MY FEET! It was incredible. It was a major change from standard leather slippers--these were a million times better. I have flat feet (not kidding you) and these actually make my tendu and pointe look nice. Couldn't believe it.
People were also all over my shoes! They thought they were "sooo cool". I agree. They're awesome.
Unfortunately, at my SI, I could NOT turn in these. I suck at turning as it is, but I couldn't figure out why these wouldn't work. It's because these shoes are too small for me :(. The elastic that connects the pieces together get stretched too taut on releve and makes it difficult for the bottom portion to move with the heel section. Boo. However, when I bought another Bloch shoe (Pro Elastic), I ordered up a size to 6B and it was great. Those fit like a glove. When I wear those out, I'm buying these again in a 6B, or even a 6.5. I can't wear these shoes for ballet, but I keep them in my bag because they're nice for rehearsals.
Bottom line, these shoes are GREAT for flat feet like mine--they also look really professional because they never bunch up! To be safe, I'd order a size up. I'm an 8.5 narrow street size.

I got these about a year ago. They are holding up really well. My arch is very strong so they look great on my feet. They feel great and fit well my only trouble is turning. I have problems doing pirouettes and promenades. The toe gets stuck and twists around. I thought leather might be better but I have a friend who has the leather pair and they don't hold their form and they don't flatter her foot. Other than that, I love this shoe.

Samantha02/25/2009 Georgia,A MATTER OF PERSONAL PREFERENCE
One of my friends dances in these shoes and absolutely loves them! She often raved about how free they made her feet feel when she danced, so when it came time to purchase new ballet slippers, I decided to give them a try. I'm sure that they are the perfect shoe for someone(therefore I will not give them a low rating), but I did not feel comfortable in them. They hugged my arch too tightly and the open sole felt strange and uncomfortable to me. Please don't let this review discourage you from trying them though. It's really a matter of personal preference. You may find that you like them!

I love these shoes!!! While you were dancing, they kept your feet from sweating too much because it allowed some air flow. They also made your feet look very pretty and pointed. The stretch of the elastics in between the parts made them easy to get on and allowed movement during practice. They don't look very good on stage with body tights showing on the bottom but for practice, they were really great. They took a long time to wear out. I danced in them 3 days a week for a year!!!

I have high arches and I love this shoe. I love dancing around barefoot because it makes me feel uninhibited and wearing this shoe gives me that same feeling. It's comfortable, it really shows off my pretty feet, and it looks classy. I have it in both canvas and leather. I suggest going to try them on at a dance store to get your size, and then purchasing them here. I wear a street size 7 and I wear these in 4B (leather) & 4.5 B (canvas).

I got these because they looked comfy and they are! The only problem is that I thought they were leather when I bought them. The picture looks like they are leather, and the description didn't say what they were made of at the time when I bought them. Another thing is that, I wish I had gotten the C width instead of B, because they are just a little snug around the ball of my foot; but I'm sure they will stretch out a little.

I currently have Bloch pro elastic, and they've lasted less than a year and have holes forming in the toes. I read a lot of reviews on durability being not so good, which do you think holds up to wear better.
The pro elastic, and the elastosplit are very comparable. They are both a more economical shoe, I would recommend trying the Proflex, or switching to a leather shoe which will be more durable and last longer. - DDS Customer Service (03/13/2014)
What does the B,C,D mean in size? I can't find information on this.
The B, C and D is the width of the shoe, B being narrow,C being medium and D being the widest width. - DDS Customer Service (09/24/2012)
thisis the width as with any other ballet shoe:) - Dance4love (01/03/2013)
They're the width of the shoe! (B is narrow; C is in the middle; D is wide) - Danceislife97 (01/13/2013)
This refers to the width of your foot. Narrow is B, Average is C, Wide is D. Hope this helps! - Balletmama33 (09/13/2013)
The letters B, C, D and sometimes E are the various widths Bloch shoes can come in. As the letters advance in the alphabet, the width, or platform of the shoe increases.
B - Narrow
C - Average
D - Wide
E - Extra Wide
