I was torn on what size to order because my daughter is short. Her waist is 22.5 inches and her girth is 41.5 inches. I went with the smallest size, and the waist was not tight on her, but the dress was about 5 inches past her feet, so we ended up hand cutting about 7 or 8 inches off, which was a little difficult since it's not a straight line on the hem. The arms are also a little on the long side, but they have a sewed hem, so you don't want to go cutting there unless you're prepared to sew (I decided against it because they're not obnoxiously too long). The sleeves were the tightest thing on the outfit, but it didn't bother my kid.
