Cushioned socks for the perfect turn. Full-length socks feature a padded ball for nearly barefoot, seamless spins. The comfort of socks, now with added fore-foot cushioning and protection. Great for warming up. Works on carpet - perfect for conventions!
Runs small, pad is too small and the placement is off

These were a disappointment. The socks are a tad small for my feet. (I am a size 8 shoe size, not huge..). The pad is just an oval piece of foam and the way it is sewn on the inside of the sock creates a thick seam that I can feel and is uncomfortable and weird. The pad itself is smaller than the ball of my foot, and isn't even where the ball of my foot is, it's slightly higher, and when I try to pull on the socks to get it in the right spot, the thinness of the socks and their readiness to tear reveals itself. One of the pads was also off center. I don't even know if this design in general is a good idea. Do these work for some folks? I'm curious.
These socks work wonderfully for practicing anywhere, at any time! I use them in my kitchen on my hardwood floor, and at the studio if I do not want to wear my tights. They have wonderful padding for working on your turns, and keep you from slipping! I would definitely recommend!
When I put them on, they stay in place and do not slide down my calves! Cushion positioning is pretty good right beneath the ball of my foot, though I wonder if it could have been a little larger. You can definitely feel the floor through it.
That said, I've worn these probably three times and haven't washed them, and the stitching is already pulling a hole in the weave on the bottom of the pad. The sock material itself is pretty thin, so I can't imagine these would be extremely durable on convention room carpeting.
For the price, these are good to keep in the dance bag for those days you've forgotten the shoe you need.
These socks are a game changer. My competition studio doesn't have marley flooring, but plywood with clear coating (for tap) that's so slippery in normal socks and I never slip in these! On marley, it can be a little slick, but it's not bad. When you put it on, it can feel like it'll be easy to slide around, but its the perfect balance. The pad on the bottom seems odd at first, but you get used to it as you dance. I have wide feet so this pad is just my size. I wish the sock was more snug in the foot, but I love how snug it is in the ankle. It never falls down! After one class, i got a tiny hole where the pad stitching is (I was really rough on them) but it hasn't gotten bigger and I haven't gotten another hole. These socks are amazing to dance and teach in and I'll definitely purchase another pair soon!

My students are always wanting to wear socks to contemporary, but at the cost of their bodies not being able to maintain technical elements due to slipping, etc. These socks are an answered prayer. They are durable, comfortable and provide a pad on the ball of the foot to protect the feet. I love them and bought 5 pairs for myself to teach! (WISH I could find them in nude for performing!)
These are just an average sock that is not very snug or stretchy with a pad on the bottom. When my feet get warm the pad irritates me, feeling uncomfortable and odd. They are great on carpet, SOOO slick on marley.
Better to just wear a good wool sock if wearing them to keep feet warm, these are not great.
