While these shorts have good quality material and seem very durable, they are not at all what I expected from the description on discountdance.com. I was hoping to get low-rise shorts with a decent inseam, but the waist is much higher than listed and the inseam is way too short (more like booty shorts). The thigh is also too large, so with the shorter inseam these shorts ride up really easily.

awful fit-unflattering

So disappointed in these dance shorts. My daughter is very petite through the stomach and hips and these barely covered her. Very unflattering fit. The leg openings were to loose and not modest in that area at all.

My daughter loves these shorts. They are short but tasteful as they don't hike up. I wash them on delicate and air dry to keep them looking like new.

Definitely going to be my favorites. I will say be careful with dark or patterned underwear in the lighter colors. Not super sheer but could see a little. Fits true to size, I got a medium I am 5'4" 140lbs. My hip size usually points me in the direction of a large or even XL but I still stick out with medium. Snug but not tight fit, good coverage. Will definitely be ordering more colors.

Really Short...

I really like the waist band of these as they do not flip over like I have experienced many times. However, the inseam is way to short for comfort I and cannot wear them without a leotard underneath. These shorts are also quite big. Most of my shorts are a size small-small and these were big, especially in the legs, which was odd because I don't have small legs.

I'm not really a big fan of these. Whenever I wear them without tights they ride up when lifting my leg or doing splits. Also, I'm constantly pulling them down during dance(which my teacher doesn't like). I really don't think that these shorts are the best choice. I recommend the high waist shorts from Capezio. They are a lot more comfortable then these and they don't ride up.

Good shorts, but...

These shorts are nice. They are comfortable and stretchy and the pink is really fun. However, my one big problem with them is that they can't really be worn as shown in the picture- without a leotard or tights. Maybe it is just the way that they fit me, but I have found that when I kick or extend my leg or do anything that requires my leg being up high (which obviously happens a lot in dance), you can see my underwear. And without underwear, it shows too much. So for me these are good for ballet class with a leo and tights or contemporary class with just a leo. Aside from the one issue, they are nice shorts and I really like them.
As for sizing, I am 5'5 and 115 and I ordered the medium. (I wear a medium in Motionwear leotards and a small in Capezio.) At first they seemed a bit big, and I probably could also fit the small, but I order again it'll be the medium because there are no issues when dancing and I like these shorts!

The shorts fit good the white is not see through either! But they have a weird waist band like they bunch up around the waist. I wouldn't recommend this for really skinny people tho.

I own these in burgundy and love them. They don't feel bulky at all like cotton shorts do sometimes. These stretch beautifully and feel so comfy. The rise and length are perfect for dancing.

Extremely Comfortable!

I purchased these shorts in black for 10 dancers in a school function. Not only were they a great price, but extremely comfortable for the girls. All of the girls loved how they fit, and they didn't ride up. Even though the girls were different sizes, none of them had any issues with the way they fit. I highly recommend them!

I absolutely love these shorts. I am 14 years old and have a small waist, so I got a child large so it would be really fitted. They are very short, but I like these the best for dancing in. I am going to get more colors because this is a great price! I highly recommend these.

Iffy at best

I first tried these shorts on without a leotard and tights underneath, which is how I was hoping to be able to wear them, but they rode up almost immediately. Now I wear them over a leo and tights, and thou they dont ride up, I still have to tug the waist down about an inch after every combination.
