Customer service was top knotch. I was first sent the incorrect size for my daughter, but when I contacted Discount Dance they were very responsive and promptly sent me the correct size. Great customer service will keep me coming back. Thank you.
Bought these first in a size 11 for my daughter who wears a 9.5-10 street shoe. She's always fit true to size for her ballet shoes. The size 11 shoes were huge on her and I ended up ordering a size 9 afterwards on her teacher's advice. The 9's fit like a glove (as recommended by jazz teachers) and her teacher advises that they will stretch as she wears them so she shouldn't outgrow them immediately.
My daughter has very small ankles and I found that these gapped at the ankles for her unfortunately. For a smaller ankle fit, I preferred the capezio shoes but wanted a pair that has the neoprene to hug the arch better. I'm attaching a photo comparing the size 11 to size 9 shoe. Also, the two shoes have different elastic on the top of the shoe, the 9 has a material similar to a pair of tights (but tougher) which is more stretchy than the thick elastic that is on the size 11 shoe. I believe that if the stiffer elastic that is on the size 11 were on the size 9 shoe, there would be less gapping at the ankle. Also, the neoprene on the two pairs of shoes are a slightly different color from each other.
Lastly, the size 11 seems to be generally better made. Almost like the size 9 is so small that it's hard to do things cleanly.
