Adult Convertible Tights with Smooth Self-Knit Waistband

These fit well. I have washed and reworn them with no snags. I weigh 124lbs but I got a large because I hate fighting with tights. I also have poor circulation so I love that I can take the tights off my toes as soon as I get in the car!!

I used these tights for five performances and they held up great. By night five I could see small pulls forming but for four costume changes they held up great. They also provided a lot of coverage for my pale legs.

I bought these for a performance and opened them up for the first time at dress rehearsal. They run very small and are difficult to get on. After two dances at dress rehearsal they got a run in them all the way up the back :/

I love these tights they are really comfortable and fit nicely, the only problem with them I have is that they don't last a super long time. Maybe a month or two before they start getting holes around the seems. Other than their lifetime, they are really good for class and performances

My daughter is almost 9 and usually wears size 14 or 14 plus clothing. I was unsure if these would be too long or how they might fit when ordering, but I got an adult size small, and I was so happily surprised that they were very comfortable for her. They didn't dig in to her natural waist, and fit beautifully. Will definitely reorder in the future!

I am a long time customer of Discount Dance. I have never had any issues with damaged merchandise until I received these tights. Fresh out of the package and they had a huge run and a hole in the left leg. Tights are not returnable. Very bummed since I ordered them for a performance. Glad they were cheap it shows.

Do not order the pink! I tried and was seriously disappointed because it is TAN. It matches my skin tone completely and will not do for ballet classes. Very angry that it didn't AT ALL match the color on the photo.

My daughter has tried every brand of tights out there, and these Theatricals Convertibles are her favorite. The waistband is soft and comfortable, the foot opening is the right size, the color is good for ballet (Ballet Pink). They don't last forever, but what tights do? The price is always good compared to other brands.

I bought these just needing some backups for a summer intensive... great for the price and I found the sizing to be pretty easy! Nice soft fabric but definitely not the most durable, probably won't be wearing these for super long. Surprisingly, the color also worked out great! Fairly true to what you see in the pictures. Overall great, good price, what you see is what you get!

I wish they had more stretch. Transitioning the foot from over the toes to on the ankle isn’t easy because the hole isn’t stretchy.

These are the best tights I’ve ever had. They are soft and easy to move in. The waistband is very nice, it doesn’t cut into the stomach. I definitely recommend. I got a medium. My measurements- Bust: 34 inches, Waist: 28 inches, Hip: 34 inches, Girth: 62 inches, Height: 68 inches 5’8”

These are my favorite tights. I have two pairs in the Toast color. Toast is much darker than it appears in photos. It's more a medium dark brown. I think it goes well with other brown flat shoes and pointe shoes. The tights themselves are soft and durable. The waist band is one of the best. I haven't experienced any runs in a year, for my oldest pair, and they're going strong.

I used to spend tons of money on other brands of tights (Bloch), but one day I decided to try these tights out for fun. I am so glad I did that. I have now been wearing these tights for years and I will never buy another brand. They are by far the softest, most comfortable tights I have ever worn. The waistband is super comfortable and doesn't cut into my stomach or leave weird lines under my leotard. They wash super well, just be careful to separate out dark colors when washing these tights, or they may fade or be dyed a weird color. I am also so shocked by the fact that these tights don't get runs. Seriously, I don't know how they do it, but these tights are practically indestructible. My favorite shade is the prima pink, which is a peachy-pink color, but the ballet pink is a more standard dress code pink.

I first switched from capezio to this brand in 2016 and I’m still wearing the ones I bought that year! They’re definitely long lasting.Only reason why I didn’t give it 5 stars is cause they don’t have a wide color scheme so none of them match my light brown skin tone

These tights are amazing quality for what you pay for. To be honest I tried them out just because they were fairly cheap, but I absolutely love them! The material is soft and doesn't make me break out in hives as a lot of tights do, which is VERY nice. The waist band stays fairly hidden under leos, they fit very nicely when you're in the correct size. They run a little bit small: in revolution brand i'm a medium, but in these i'm a definite large, so you should probably order one size up from what you may usually wear in other brands. The colors are perfect for what an audition or intensive may ask for, since the pinks aren't too pink or too tan, And the tan is actually tan, etc... I'm really happy with these and they last just as long or longer than any $15 pair of tights you'll find on the market. Highly recommend.

I bought these for my teenage daughter who loved them. They sit high enough at the waist to create smooth lines under leotards and have a smooth, wide waistband that doesn't dig in. Will be our new go-to tights.

Nothing amazing, but they are so cheap, you can't go wrong. The material is super soft, some sort of microfiber, but it snags really easily. However these don't have that awful waist band that even the other "comfort whatever waist band" brands offer.

There is nothing “smooth” about the “smooth self-knit waistband.” Per my 5’2” 105 lb 14 yr old daughter, the waistband on these tights is just as tight and uncomfortable as most other tights. I wish they offered these tights with the 1” lined elastic waistband (as in the Theatricals adult footless tights.) Theatricals seem to run a bit small. I recommend ordering a size up for best fit.

Bought these for the first time, took them out of their packaging, put them on, tried on my favorite leo to see how they fit underneath, went to adjust the feet, and noticed a GIANT RUN on my right heel. It got far enough that it will be visible if I have shoes on. I'm keeping them because they're convertible--I can pull them up and it will be fine--but I won't be buying these again. (Also keeping them because I had my usual panic reaction to A RUN IN MY TIGHTS and put nail polish on the run. Oops.) Otherwise, they were great--a little sheer but still decent, very soft, waistband was comfortable, flat, and rolled down nicely, plenty of stretch. I did buy one size up, as recommended, and they fit great. If they'd lasted longer, I'd definitely recommend them.

These tights do run small- I noticed the other reviews mentioning this and bought up one size and they fit well. I bought a size large and I am 5’8 and 141lbs. I am curvier than the average ballet body. I didn’t have the same problem with the waistband that others did but maybe this is because I ordered up one size from normal and I wear my tights on the outside of the leo. I noticed that even though they fit well they are very translucent which may bother some. I like like how this looks with the pink pair I bought, not so much with the black. What I liked about these tights was the dyed to match cotton gusset wasn’t as obvious as other brands I’ve tried. I love wearing my tights on the outside for informal classes but can’t stand how it looks with an obvious gusset.

I was uncertain when purchasing these tights but I figured it was worth a try for the price. These are my absolute favorite tights I am 5’6 and am about 100lbs. I got a size medium and they fit perfectly. The waistband is not tight and these tights are extremely comfortable. I also purchased the capezio ones with the self knit waistband but I find that these tights are much more comfortable and true to size. I would recommend ordering a size up though.

I see a lot of negative reviews for these tights, and I simply don't understand. These are my daughter's go to tights, one of her all time favorites in fact. Yes, the waist band can cut a little, but no more so than any other tights she's used. These tights hold up, class after class, and wash after wash. The color keeps better than most tights we've tried, and so far, not a single pair has developed a run. They are substantial enough for good coverage but not thick or heavy. The seaming underfoot is almost unnoticeable, and the opening opening large enough to fold up to capri length. The Prima Pink color is great, a little darker than a lot of tights, so she feels it's more professional. That's it, they're great. And the price? Yeah, perfect.

We loved the old style and made them mandatory for our students to purchase for all performances. But, this summer we will be researching tights to find a different brand to carry. The new waist band is tighter and not comfortable at all. My students are complaining about the fit. They also run very easily. Not as thick and sturdy as before. So sad that you changed on us.

I am so disappointed with the new waistband of the theatrical tights. I, too, have tried many companies and was delighted to find Theatricals who made an excellent fit with comfortable material and beautiful color. For years I have only used Theatricals and always recommended them for my students. Now, however, I can't stand wearing them since the new waistband doesn't fit anywhere on me! It manages to roll up or down and is way too high and tight! My students have also been complaining, and I would love to buy out as many of the old style that I can. Are there any stores that may have them in stock? Is there any way to bring the old ones back? No other company beat those!

First, the only reason these tights got 1 star is because there is no "0" star option. I have been dancing for over 40 years, and I have tried them all...Capezio, Bloch, Danskin, Minden... and in the end, the old version of Theatricals tights were the best I've ever used...BUT, that was then, now I am desperately trying to find some of the old ones before they disappear off the face of the Earth forever. The old waist band was comfortable, laid flat, could be folded over, worked well at the waist or hip, and would stay put. Now this ridiculous new waist band is so tight I cant hardly breath..I am 5'5" and 115 lbs...and the XL, which is what I usually buy for a little extra wiggle room, was just awful. When I was finally ably to get it where it belongs, it just rolls up and sucks the life out of you...and I have a 25" waist. If that wasn't bad enough, they snagged just adjusting the toes..And I filed my nails first, and was super careful. The old ones NEVER snagged, and I was less than gentle. Another little issue, this might sound strange, but, when you look at the tights when they are on from an up-ward angle...in other words, bend over with straight legs to stretch and look up at your legs...the tights sparkle...like they are infused with glitter or something...even my students asked me why my tights were so shiny. Lastly, the main reason I used to love these tights is because when you put them on it did not feel like you were trying to get into a girdle, and when they were on...wow wonderful..you can move, but they wont, there was just enough support with out being tight, and they did not sag at the end of the day. SO...PLEASE DDS, On behalf of ballerinas everywhere, we beg you on plie'd knee... GIVE US BACK OUR TIGHTS....

I bought Theatricals' tights for years. It was good quality at reasonable price. But, this new design has a horrible waistband. It is too tight! I wanted to buy an old design but there aren't any convertible ones in pink. Please bring back the old design.

Theatricals, I loved your old style of waistband. This new style is horrible, nothing like the old one, cuts in and fits terribly, and I will never purchase this style again. Please return to the appropriately sized waistband. Until then, I am no longer a customer of theatricals.

I am 5ft, I got the small, this is a little short, the crotch area comes up low! However I am able to pull it up and it fits a little tight. This is really soft! I won't repurchase this again.

I can't rate these on durability because my daughter can't even get them all the way on. I ordered an adult XL for my daughter who is 5'6 because I wanted to make sure they were long enough. However, these look like they could be a child's XL and are so short she can't wear them.

I incorrectly assumed that these would fit like the regular Theatricals Convertible Tights (which i LOVE).. but no... the "smooth" waistband in these cuts so deeply into my waist that it's not only really uncomfortable but really unattractive as well.. I had to cut the waistband to be able to wear them.. Other than the tight waistband the tights seem to be great-- soft and quite durable.
