Durable and designed to move effortlessly with you while you dance. Theatricals "EZ Flex" character shoe features a 2 inch heel, a breathable, soft, leather-like upper, suede sole, and neoprene side inserts that stretch as you flex your foot.
I bought several pairs of character shoes to try on I ordered a five and a half same as my street shoe and they were half a size to a full size too small Very sturdy flared heel Theres a weird rubbing on the outside of the ball of my foot where the flexible part of the shoe meets the leather This may or may not be solved by wearing the proper size To me the quality of the Theatricals did not appear quite as good as the quality of the Capezios I ended up choosing the Capezio JR Footlight T strap
I heeded the advice of other reviewers and ordered a half size up. Street shoes are 6.5, ordered a 7. They fit great. If you have really narrow feet, mine are wide-ish, ordering same at street would be advised.
The shoes look and feel good. I can tell if i was to be wearing and dancing in these heavily, they defiantly would not last long.
They are 100 percent man-made materials. And have a very STRONG chemical moth-ball smell. I aired them out for over a week, and the smell did not lessen one bit.
Overall, if you are only wearing these for performances and a handful of rehearsals....good value.
If you will be wearing and rehearsing in these regularly, order a different higher quality brand that is made of leather.
The inside of the shoes frayed and the black color came off on my feet. Also the top the shoe probably not leather started to come off in a small spot. Shoes comfortable but hurt my toes as they ran small.
These run about a half size smaller then street shoes. All of the girls at our studio had to either return or exchange these shoes with each other because they ran small. We exchanged the two pairs we bought with two others at our studio. One girl had to go up an entire full size. So my younger teen wears a size 7 and a half or an 8 in street shoes and she ended up with the 8 and a half. My older teen who wears a size 8 and a half normally had to go to a size 9.
We cannot vouch for flexibility in the arch at this point since we just bought these this past week, before September 4th 2017 and they just arrived. We are looking for flexibility in the arch. I also cannot vouch at this point for the durability or wear.
They look fine and are soft. The 2 heel is a good height for most not use to wearing heels on stage.
I have an older pair of Capezio character heels that are flex sole and are great for dancing in, however I needed a black pair for an upcoming show. I ordered these in size 8 due to other reviews and I normally wear a 7.5. The shoe fit great, however as soon as I pointed my foot, my foot was coming out of the shoe so they are definitely not safe for dancing. There were comfortable to walk in, so they may be okay for theatre where heavy dancing is not involved. The shoe was flexible, but without a T strap or some sort of crossing strap, there is no way these will stay on your feet safely.
Does this shoe have a partial shank (similar to a LaDuca)?
It has the Flex Sole. It will pointe with your foot and conform to the shape of your foot to fit like a glove. It is similar in design to a LaDuca shoe. - DDS Customer Service (03/11/2016)
