Originally size 6.5 for comfort & ordered these as a size 6 for perfect fit, the shoes were approximately an inch more both size and width. I wore clown shoes for the first few minutes of trying them on.

The price is good but sadly you get what you pay for in a very poor fit. No matter the size, there is a lot of room behind the heel instead of actually fitting to the heel. We tried going down several sizes to where toes were smashed in front and the heel still didn't fit to the foot.

I ordered these for my partner to wear for his Halloween Costume. Although he has pretty wide feet, ordering his actual street size worked very well! We have yet to try them out for a full night's wear, but walking around the house was a breeze!

I just bought one pair for my daughter of 12 years. Ot fits perfect to her as suggested in the size chart. You should choose them one size smaller than the street size. My daughter is size 7 in street shoes and I bought this size 6 and it fits perfect for her and so confortable. Also they looks that jas a great quality.

I have ordered two other pairs of shoes from Theatricals in the past month and the sizing chart was spot on. Not the case with these shoes. Order a half size, NOT a full size down. You can probably get away with not even ordering a size down at all. Even though my shoes are too small to dance in, I can almost walk around in them. I can tell they are comfortable and I am excited to recieve my new pair. Discount Dance needs to update their sizing guidelines for this product. I now have spent over $20 in shipping back and forth that I shouldn't have needed to spend.

I purchased these shoes and immediately needed to return them for a smaller size. I ordered my street shoe size (10US) and it was far too large. I would recommend going at least a 1/2 size down, I haven't received my refund from DDS yet, so I haven't ordered the new shoes. Something to also be wary of is that the buckle is not the one as pictured. The buckle on the shoe was very frustrating to me as it appeared to have some sort of self-locking mechanism that was truly terrible to fumble around with and generally time consuming. Both my sister and my parents almost tore the product trying to get the shoe off my foot.
That being said, the shoe itself was cushioned and felt very comfortable on the bottoms of the feet. I can't recommend a real comfort level since I didn't get the opportunity to wear them for an extended period of time. The heel isn't too high, which is great for me as I intended to attach taps, but some aspects of the shoes definitely need some revamping before I would call this a solid shoe.

I wear a size 6 in sneakers and a 5 1/2 in shoes. I went with my sneaker size and followed the directions from there. It worked really well. They fit great. Good value for the price.

I ordered a half size larger than my street shoe based upon other reviews although the size chart said to order street size. Well the shoe was too big. Theatrical called it correctly when they said to order street size. Do not order a half size larger unless you squeeze yourself into a too small street shoe. Order the size you buy at your local fashion shoe store. The shoe is great.

I'm usually a 8.5-9, and i ordered a 9.5 and it fits perfectly, and it's just a tiny bit roomy. but that's better than ordering one that's too small.

I have these in both nude and black and I have encountered few issues. The buckle can be a bit annoying when doing a quick change, but once you get used to it, it is no bother. I found that the shoes ran just about true to size, give or take a half of an inch. I typically wear a 9-9.5 shoe and ordered both of these in a 9 and they fit perfectly. I've worn them for dancing in musical theatre for several weeks now and they are still holding up.
My only issue was with the nude pair, the heel sole fell off after one day in them and I will need to get it repaired, but I am hoping that isn't what the quality is for any other shoe ordered.

I ordered these shoes after reading both the sizing recommendations and the reviews, hoping for a good product. The recommended sizing provided by Discount Dance says to order a size smaller that street size. The reviews were not totally clear on how sizing ran, some said they ran small while others said they ran large. I wear a 7 and I did't want to have to exchange them for a different size, so I ordered a half size smaller (6.5), figuring that they might be snug and stretch a bit as I wore them. When they were delivered, I went to try them on and they were far too small. I couldn't get my foot all the way in the shoe and they were small enough that now when I'm exchanging them I will be ordering a half size larger than my street size (7.5).

We bought these for my daughter. She hasn't had the opportunity to wear them yet so I can't comment on the durability or comfort at this point but I wanted to say that I think the sizing on these shoes has changed. Previous reviews stated that they ran large. Because of that and based on the sizing recommendation for this shoe on the website we initially ordered down a size which turned out to be way too small. After returning the shoes and reordering, we finally ended up with a size 8 1/2 being a good fit for my daughter. She generally wears a size 8 to 8 1/2 so I would say these shoes are now running true to size or perhaps slightly on the small size.

Ordered these for my daughter. She loved them true to size, comfortable and they were at our door step sooner then we expected. I have and will continue to recommend these to fellow dancers.

These shoes are great; they are comfortable, a great tan color, and the perfect closure to get in and out of them quickly. TAKE NOTE; I wear a 7.5 street shoe and needed a 6.5 character shoe.

Contrary to what I'd read in many reviews, this shoe runs large. My daughter has another pair of character shoes, size 8, and normally wears a 7.5 in street shoes. We ordered a 7.5 and there was 3/4 inch extra space at the back of the heel. Other than the off sizing, the shoe seems to be good quality for the price.

The shoes look very nice. I can't speak to the durability since I just got them. Contrary to the advice on the site to order a size smaller, they run small/true to street size. I'd return them for a size larger except for the fact that there isn't time before the play I'm in goes up. They had a VERY strong odor when I took them out of the box. That has faded somewhat, but is still present. Not much arch support. But, they look nice on.

I used these for Show Choir Competitions. Stay on amazingly! RECOMMEND A FULL SIZE SMALLER THEN STREET SHOE! Had to exchange for the correct size.

I had to purchase these shoes originally for a dance recital. However, because I do lots of community theatre, I needed them for that as well. Overall, they are very good shoes. But they are they worst to break in. You actually have to order a 1/2 size down from street shoe size, because they stretch so much. I had to step on them, bend them, walk around in them, and even shove them in a doorway! The shoes also have a traction issue. They get so slippery I recommend getting a pointe shoe scratcher and using it on the sole. Yes, these are good shoes that are very durable but beware you get what you pay for.

Bought a this pair in tan for a show. The coloring is nice but the shape looks weird. I only tried it on and the shoe almost had an extra inch in the back. I wear a 5 1/2 and always order my character shoes in a 6.

I've only had a chance to wear them once, but they fit great and are much more comfortable than my old worn out pair. I intend to wear them over the Christmas season for shows and they will get a LOT of use. If I remember to, I'll come back and give an updated review, but I like them so far! I like that the sole is scored for better traction, too.

These are very easy to dance in. They look great on my feet, the heel doesn't look too chunky, and they are pretty comfortable!! I just got them quite recently so I can't say anything for durability yet; only time will tell!
The only thing I would say is I ordered my exact street shoe size, going against the recommended half-size down, and the shoe fits perfectly! Not a millimeter too large! Maybe it is because I have wider feet, but keep that in mind when you choose the size.
