This 1.5" character shoe is made of a synthetic leather upper with a scored leather sole. Other features include a soft breathable lining, an attached ankle strap with a pin buckle, and an improved heel lift attachment. Excellent for tap or stage!
I followed the directions for converting a girl to adult sizes and is at least 3 sizes too big. Will be returning for different size. When originally looking at the girl's, there weren't any sizes over a 1.5, now there are. This is our first time ordering dance shoes on line.

Putting 2 stars only for the fact that the shoes were recommended to run as a street size, I ordered 0.5 bigger and they were way too small. And now I have to pay to return and order new ones.
Don't be fooled by the sizing. They do not match street sizes at all. I had to return the shoe immediately as it was half the size of my daughter's foot. Am hoping the replacement adult shoe will work.
I bought these for my child who needed shoes for a Character Dance class. These are well made, sturdy and pretty. The heels are about 1 1/2 inches high. They run about 2 1/2 sizes small. My child wears a 13.5 in regular shoes. In the "Baby Louis" shoe the shoe that fit was the size 3. Aside from the buckle of the shoe having no pin, but a "grip style" buckle instead, which is difficult for small fingers to get on and off or adjust quickly, the rest of the shoe is very nice!
The suggested sizing is to order same as street. Well I actually ordered 1 size larger than street and the length of the shoe was clearly 2 sizes TOO SMALL still! So I would order 3 sizes larger than street shoe.
ALso they are very very narrow and would be uncomfortable for a medium foot and impossible for a wide foot.
We do not have taps for this particular child shoe. I would recommend style T9400C which is a Theatricals Child Tap Shoe, and the taps are attached. - DDS Customer Service (08/14/2014)
