Confusing size chart, great shoes!

I bought these for my daughter. After reading the confusing sizing chart, I decided to order 3 different sizes and sell what doesn't fit. At the time, she was a size 2 (she is 9 years old), so I ordered a 2, 3 and 4. The 2 fit tight, the 3 was perfect, and the 4 she will grow into. Just order street size or a bit up for children and you should be in good shape. These shoes hold up well. She dances about 3 hours a week in them and her friends who wear Capezios all have holes in the toes and hers are fine.

I noticed everyone posting to buy 2 sizes up (which i think the size chart intended to say but they have the opposite listed). My daughter is 8 and wears a size 2 street shoe, so I got a 4. they fit great and have little grow room. She says the straps are really tight but im sure after a few weeks they will be stretched out. She likes them and has requested the jazz version as well.

Size chart is misleading

These ballet shoes are very soft to the touch and very comfortable to wear. Durability is to be tested but they seem like they will withstand 6 or more hours of dance per week. Sizing is a little weird. I know every shoe company has their own trusted size chart so I went along with the recommendation of 2 sizes smaller than street shoe. They were very, very tight. I would recommend going along with street shoe size or to go up a half-size larger than street shoe if you are in-between sizes.

Students like the fit

If you have a very narrow foot, you can get away with ordering your street shoe size. Otherwise, you need to order a size larger or two with wide feet. Not much padding in the sole, but the shoe does snug to your foot.

Great value priced slippers

These shoes are great beginner shoes with not elastic to tie. They are true to size (similar to So Danca) but if you have wider feet I would recommend sizing up. It's a nice ballet pink. Not a bubblegum pink but light salmonish pink and not a dark salmon. It blends well with ballet pink tights. It is slightly darker than Sansha girl slippers and lighter than Bloch slippers which i find to be more on the darker salmon side.
Since these are canvas they do get dirty but you just have to throw them in the wash and dry flat. Washing means feet and shoes won't get stinky after multiple sweats.
We usually love Sansha canvas "split star" slippers but one of my kids have a longer achiles and has begun to find the draw string bites into the back of one of her feet.
Thank you for your feedback! Have a great day!

I love these shoes for myself and my studio. I love that they are elastic and no ties. It makes class so easy - no retying shoes. They are the most comfortable shoes too!

The split sole is nice with the stretch arch, but the sole on the ball of the foot is uncomfortably thick and shifts while turning.

I find not having to tie a string and having crossing straps are so much more convenient! Myself and dancers love this new style. So comfortable. The sizing is a little off. I wear a street shoe of 9 or 10 and fit an 8. Otherwise perfect!

Nice, but a little odd

These are comfortable, but the canvas is very thin compared to any other shoe I've worn. The stretch is nice, but the padding on the heel and ball of the foot is a little much for me. It may make balancing in releve more difficult.
