My daughters both wear this style of ballet shoe. They do run small - my little one wears a size 9 street shoe and wears an 11 in this style. They have a little bit of stretch, mold well to the arch of the foot and do not have that troublesome elastic tie that always seems to cause trouble. I won't buy any other shoe.
These look like good shoes! We sent them back because they run so small. I recommend to size up at least a full size over street shoe, that was our experience! My daughter is almost 4, she's a size 11 or 29 in street shoe, we ordered an 11 in these and I couldn't get them on her feet. Capezios and Theatricals have run about half size small for her.
I've taken classes for 18 years, and am very particular about shoes. I've tried far more brands and types than probably anyone out there. I've got dozens of pairs in my closet that were worn a few times, then tossed. MDM's Elemental had been the most comfortable, but still didn't hit the mark. So Danca is a brand I've often overlooked, yet when my daughter was fitted for new shoes a year ago, this is the one recommended at the dance shop we went to, and she loved them. So I tried a pair for myself. They are ridiculously comfortable. My daughter would wear hers 24-7 if I let her! These shoes are beautiful, move well, give a clean line to the foot, and are durable! I had to wash a pair of hers after she spilled juice on them, and they were fine after washing. I'm still on my first pair, and she's on her third. If she didn't grow the way children do, she'd probably still be on her first pair as well. This is a line to definitely try.
Our ballet school just added these shoes to the dress code. My 10-yr-old loves them!! They are stretchy and stay on her foot-the Bloch Synergy style would slip off her heel continuosly. She also loves that there are no drawstrings. These shoes are perfect for accenting the arch. No bagging with pointing our on demi-pointe. So happy these are required for my young dancers and the DDS now carries them! Beautiful ballet slippers!
Do any of the canvas split sole ballet shoes come with pre-sewn elastics? this is for my daughter who wants to move from the leather style to the canvas.
