I love these shoes! The elastic seam with no drawstring is the best. They fit perfectly to your feet without the hassle of the drawstring. No baggage in the toes whatsoever! They are super durable, lasted me 6 mo. That being said I dance en pointe most of the time. I wear a 9 to 9 and a half in street shoes but a 10 and a half Width B in these ballet shoes. Definitely recommend sizing up.

These shoes are comfortable and show of my arch well. They felt too tight when I first got them, but have loosened up and fit perfectly. Sewing on the elastics wasn't really a problem, but I do wish that the shoes didn't have a drawstring. It pressed into the top of my foot, so I cut it shorter and now it won't stay tucked in. But besides that, I would definitely recommend these. I'm impressed by the durability- they have held up much longer than my last pair of canvas ballet shoes.

These shoes are amazing! If you want a shoe that is going to make your feet look good then get these! They don't last as long as some shoes I've worn in the past but it is so worth it because of they way they look on my feet!

PeaPrincess01/24/2016PROBLEM UNDER TOES
Unlike other SS slippers I have tried, these have alot of fabric under the ball of the foot from the pleating, making a hard ridge that is unpleasant in releve.
The canvas is lighter and less durable than some.

I bought 2 pairs of these ballet shoes for my daughters for their upcoming roles in the Victorian Nutcracker. My girls adore these ballet shoes often claiming they can "dance for hours" !!

I have been getting these ballet shoes for about 3 years. I love these ballet shoes, but they seem to have a few problems. First, they have these little in soles that come off, then you have glue on your feet. Secondly, i once had a cut on my toe reopen, when i washed them, the blood turned green (i dont think you are ment to wash ballet shoes ):). They also seem to have alot of bag when you first get them, but they do "shrink". For size, i wear a street 9 and get an 8 1/2.

Socks09/08/2015AMAZING SHOES
These shoes are amazing! I've only had them for a few days, so I don't know the durability yet, though I presume it's decent. Some other reviews say it is pre-sewn, yet the description of the product itself doesn't mention it. The truth is, the back two elastics on each shoe come pre-sewn, (which is great if your like me and never have enough time to sew) but you do still need to sew the front two elastics, as they are an "X" shaped elastics. I have smallish feet that are somewhat on the wideside (not a lot). I typically have to drawstring my shoes, and I really like how it sticks to your foot, it doesn't bag out making it look like your arch is way worse than it is. It frames the foot nicely and shows your arch. They fit like socks and are my favorite shoes I think! If you are unsure between two different shoes, I'd say try these, for the price you may be surprised with how awesome they are.☺

TheBellaMonster08/02/2015COMFORTABLE!
I really love these shoes, and wish I had ordered them from this website! However, I got them for $22 dollars at a local shop. I have yet to wear them in class, but after dancing around in them for hours in my room, I am in love with them!! A soft inner lining and snug but comfy fit gives me hours of comfort.. The elastic is pre-sewn and give a snug, comforting feel! They feel very high quality, with the split sole giving a nice flexibility with a pointed foot, great for turns. However, I cannot accurately comment on durability, since I have had them for a short amount of time. Would highly recommend these! My only complaint is that the shoe is not flat, the heel is thicker then the sole on the ball of the foot. When I first put them on, I felt slightly wobbly, but after a bit you don't even notice! Would give 5 stars but haven't had them long enough. Great shoes!

I love these shoes!!! I have extremely narrow feet, and these are one of the few kinds of slippers that run in a size A. They are very soft and feel almost exactly like socks. Because they are so thin, you can feel the floor very well through them, and the suede pads aren't too thick.
The only downsides are that you have to sew the elastics, and the thin material frays very quickly.

ThePhantomIzzy09/19/2014TIGHTER THAN SHOES SHOULD BE.
After a semester of wearing these, the shoes were holey in the toes, and pretty dirty. I gladly got a new pair, as these had been great to me and lasted a long time. However, my second pair, half a size smaller, was very different. So Danca must have changed a few things about the shoe, because the shoe itself was slightly baggy, and the elastic around the top of the shoe (it acts as the drawstring) was much too tight. During my summer intensive, I soon found it aggravating my Achilles tendon, and therefore had to switch back to Capezio Juliets. Many people like this shoe, but it doesn't work for me.

rosieballerina08/30/2014LOVE THESE EXCEPT....
I purchased these shoes the first time this past summer. I loved how they looked; they hugged my foot beautifully and the pre-sewn elastic and no drawstring was a plus, even though I needed to resew them in order to add ribbons to them. Anyway, they are amazing except I go though a pair every three weeks!!! I use canvas from old shoes to make a patch on the toes for them, but I have to keep resewing it. So basically I go through a pair per month and this is with about 25-30 hours a week of ballet. I would recommend buying two pairs at once, especially when they are at such a great price! Overall great shoe though!

These shoes hug your foot in all of the right places. They come pre-sewn which really helps if you suddenly need to purchase a new pair for a performance/audition. The material is SO stretchy and I love it. Usually in canvas ballet shoes there is multiple layers of fabric which can make it gappy and unflattering. But this is like a one layer magic ballet sock. The color is great and my feet look so much better than they actually are. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THESE, BUY THEM NOW FOR AN AMAZING PRICE FOR AN AMAZING SHOE.

AKballetdancer07/19/2014THE 4-STAR SHOE
Everything about this shoe is good (4 stars.)
They are like a cousin to socks. They get the exact shape of your feet AND... (here comes the best part), you don't have to sew the elastics!! I am not a very good sewer. I always mess things up or stab or lose a needle somewhere. Also there are no drawstrings, which just make life easier! My teacher is a stickler for them, he's actually had to stop the music if he see's them hanging out of someones shoe, grabs his orange scissors, chops them off, put's his scissors back, and turns the music back on. Yep. Definitely love the no drawstrings, and it's already tightened to fit my feet perfectly. They rip eventually, but if you dance a lot with canvas shoes, that's going to happen no matter what.

njnj05/08/2014MY FAVORITE BALLET SLIPPERS
These are the comfiest I have ever owned! I love how they come already sewn, unlike most split-sole slippers. I also love that they don't have draw-strings--those things are so annoying! Instead the lining all around the shoe is a starchy, elastic-type material! I didn't find them too slippery like other reviewers said; they were perfect. The only downfall is that one of them ripped and I have only owned it around 5 months. :-( It was able to be sewn up though, but it seems to be ripping again. These will definitely become my go-to shoe, though!

kareyjo02/22/2013THIRD PAIR.
While looking for a pair of black ballet slippers, I read how So Danca had high ratings on all their character shoes. There wasn't any reviews on the ballet slipper, but I went ahead and ordered for my daughter. I used the sizing chart. My daughter, a soloist, loved them so much, I ordered a pink pair. I am now ordering another pink pair a year later.

Also it is not made for wider feet. Its material is so slippery I tried to do a turn and I fell and hurt my ankle. I would not recommend this shoe.

I wear a size 6.5 street shoe, what size should I get? (My foot width is normal)
We would recommend size 3.5C or 4C. Please contact our customer service department at 1-800-328-7107 for further assistance. - DDS Customer Service (03/18/2015)
maybe a 7 so that you can grow into them, but the sizing is normal so that should be great - Juju123 (07/10/2015)
SarahBD 09/14/2014 Age: 17 or under Does the suggested sizing fit well?
I wear a size 7, but I don't want the suggested sizing to not be completely true. Has anyone else bought the suggest 2-2 1/2 sizes smaller? Does the suggested fitting run true?
The sizing suggestion for this shoe is to order 2.5-3.0 sizes smaller than your street shoe size. Please note, this is intended as a guide line and cannot be guaranteed. Please do not hesitate to contact customer service at 1-800-328-7107 for more information. - DDS Customer Service (09/15/2014)
Yes. I wear a 7.5N in street shoes and the 5.5A fit perfectly. - Bballet (03/10/2015)
Kimmie Sue 05/27/2013 Va Age: 35 to 44 what size for a boy?
my son wants to try these in black because his friend recommended them. He is a european 41 in other ballet shoes. what size should we order?
Typically a European 41 is equivalent to a womens size 10.5. For this shoe you want to order 2.5 to 3 sizes down from street shoe. This would leave him at around a size 8.0 or 7.5. Unfortunately though we cannot guarantee sizing. - DDS Customer Service (05/28/2013)
My grand daughter is currently in a child size 1.5. Would her next size be the women's size 2? I ask because of the fitting suggestion about going down on the adult sizes. Thank you for your responses.
If she is a size 1.5 child then she would be a size 3.5 in adult. The sizing on this item states to go 2.5-3.0 sizes smaller than street. The size 2 adult would be too large for her. You would need to order SD11C in a size 1.5. This states to order the same as street for the child shoe. - DDS Customer Service (03/20/2013)
What does the A, B, C, & D stand for with the sizing?
A,B,C and D has to do with the width of the shoe.. ranging from narrow to wide. - DDS Customer Service (11/27/2012)
The A, B, C and D stands for the width of the ballet shoe. I have rather wide feet and I wear a C width. A would be Small and D would be rather Large. - Ballerinaalice (08/25/2014)
