They seem like a good ballet shoe but ran large. I wear an 8 1/2 shoe so we ordered a size 8. They are too big. I wish they had the elastic to tighten in the front.

I love these! They are comfortable and look great. The problem is I have had two pairs fall apart after just a few wearings. The material pulls apart from the seam on top of the shoe, exposing the white lining material. The first time Bloch replaced them. This time I'm afraid I'm moving on. If it hadn't happened twice I would have thought it was a fluke. I now think it's a flaw. Too bad. This was really a great shoe.

I ordered these three sizes smaller than my street shoe size and still very small. Also they have no drawstring which makes it so that they do not hug your foot the way they are suppose to do. I do not recommend buying these shoes.

These are my all-time favorite shoes and I just keep ordering the same ones year after year. Great fit and great feel on the floor. I order 2 full sizes below my street shoe size. I only dance once per week, and they generally last me two years. Holes in toe are most likely cause of death.

Bloch Pro Arch
by: DedicatedDancer01 - 08/06/2015
Comfort:
Durability:
I love these shoes because they are extremely comfortable and outline my arch very well. They also have a mesh insert between the soles which is very helpful at times ;) I would recommend these shoes to anyone who wants comfortable shoes that outline their arch quite well!

Runs large
by: Jayy10 - 11/09/2014

I like these ballet slippers very much. My street size is a 7 in shoes so I ordered at 6.5C. It ended up being very large on my feet so I suggest ordering 2-3 sizes smaller than your street size. I know I should've ordered a size 5C or 4.5C.

Shows off the arch, not the toes
by: Svetlana - 08/30/2014
Comfort:
Durability:
This is one of my favorate slipper designs, but I would only recommend for advanced dancers.
Like its name, it shows off the arch quite well, has a mesh (transparent) material under the arch.
It feels like it hugs the foot perfectly with little to no air resistance (which I love).
The sole on the ball of the foot is a medium sized, reasonably well for balancing. But it has a drawback, when pointing the foot, it shifts forward and prevents the toes from pointing further (almost as if the toes were not pointing at all).
In pointe tendu, it produces a "scrunched" like appearance, as if the toes were overly scrunched. Those are the two major problems.
The two elastics are sewn only at one end per elastic, so you have to sew the other end.

Comfortable Shoes!
by: BallerinaKate - 10/19/2013
Comfort:
Durability:
These shoes are comfortable, the mesh part in the arch is nice also. The color is more of a nude/tan, so if you're looking for more of a pink color for shoes these are not it. The no drawstring has it's good and bad points. The bad part is it gaps when I go on demi point. The good part is there is no strings or knot to cut into my foot. The toe area seems to have too much fabric and sticks out a little when I point. The vamp length is short. For sizing references I wear a 61/2 street shoe and got these in a 4B and they fit great.

comfortable and great fit
by: grammyann - 08/03/2013

I love these shoes. They are really comfortable and come in a variety of size options.. If you follow the chart you should get the correct size and width.. My young ballerina has tried several different shoes and loves these. Her feet are still growing a bit so it's easy to estimate her size. The mesh insert gives a great pointe and also stretches the shoe for a perfect fit. We both have worn these for a few years now and hope the style is never discontinued. they are very durable and I have washed them on the gentle cycle without shrinkage or stiffening.

shoes: freedom & strength through movement
by: movementislife - 07/13/2013
Comfort:
Durability:
A canvas shoe, sew on elastics, with a breathable fabric piece in the arch. Of note, with narrow feet, we have only used the B width of this shoe. The arch fabric consistently hints to my young dancer to engage the center of her foot while offering great freedom of movement between the toe and heel, a movement which carries well into her overall movement and development as a dancer. Way to go Bloch! Thanks!

Comfortable and Nice Arch
by: Spins123 - 07/01/2013
Comfort:
Durability:
Shoe does run large, I am street 7 but have a 5 in this. It shows off my feet well but I wear through them in less than 6 months at the toe. As I have a narrow foot they gap a bit on fitting but form to the foot beautifully!! They are my go to shoes now -especially at auditions and SIP.

Seemed like a good idea
by: KateD - 04/03/2013
Comfort:
Durability:
These shoes definitely run large. I am a size 9 in street shoes. The directions say to order 2-3 sizes smaller (a bit vague, no?) so I ordered a 6.5. Way too big. I now own a size 6 and the elastic is too tight, but I still have wiggle room in the actual shoe so when I point my foot, there is extra fabric in the toes.
Oh, and look at the picture, that baggy heel is no joke. It's so annoying, I am going to rip out the seams and try to shorten it. I feel a bit ridiculous in class because my shoe looks so floppy.
The elastics, ugh, too tight. My feet were hurting by the adagio. I'm going to cut and re-sew them.
The one plus is the wide and flat metatarsal pad. I used to have Sansha shoes, which have that annoying bunching under the ball of the foot, and these are a dream in comparison. I actually went from double to triple pirouettes today. I had no idea how much of a difference it would make, hence the 3 stars. Plus the construction looks solid.
I wish I could toss these, but for the price, I have to try to get some use out of them.

Bad for tapered toes/narrow feet
by: HotPinkManolos - 12/13/2012
Because there is no drawstring, the shoe gapes near the bunion area on demi pointe. This may not be a problem if you have a wider foot, but I have narrow feet and long tapered toes. I attached and reattached the elastics over and over again trying to fix this problem, but there was no way to keep this from happening.

These shoes are really pretty, the color is in between pink leather and the really light pink canvas. It matches ballet pink tights well! I love how lightweight these shoes are with no extra fabric bunching up or restricting your foot like Sanshas. I also love how they don't have drawstrings to hassle with.
For reference, I usually wear a 7.5-8 street shoe (but I have wide feet) and I ordered a 5.5 D in these. If anything they're a bit tight, but pretty good. I'd say order 2.5 sizes down if your foot is wide and 2 sizes down if it's narrow.
I don't know how long they will last because they are so lightweight, hopefully a year or two.

This canvas style is what made me fall in love with canvas ballet shoes. Once you break into them, they really mold and hug your foot. They are also true to their arch support guarantee; it's amazing (highly recommended if you have a big arch). The only problem I have with them is that they're a year 1/2 old and the fabric has ripped within about 6 months of using them.

Too Big.

I got these shoes in the sizing recommended and they were too big, returned for a half size down, and they still dont fit right. They dont have a drawstring to make the them hug your feet more, so when i'm on demipoint they wrinkle out away from my foot. Also they bunch when I point my toes. I will wear these out because I payed for them, but I do not recommend them, and I would go to say they make my arch look worse.

I would definitely not buy these shoes again! The "elastic" around the top of the foot doesn't do any good so the shoe gaps when you go on demi point which is not at all flattering!
The only thing I like about these shoes is the way they hug your arch.

These shoes are the best! The wide outsole really protects my feet and makes it easy to turn. They look amazing, and they breathe really well, so they don't smell as disgusting as shoes usually do after you've been sweating in them. Everything about them is wonderful, and they fit my feet very nicely. They are the best shoes I ever had, and I would recommend them to anyone.

The top sole is to tiny and makes it hard to point your foot because the sole pops out. I honestly love the shoe, it really shows your true arch off and are really comfy. They have lasted me almost about 1 1/2 years and yet have not worn out.
They just really hold on to odor...

These shoes are really comfortable; they feel like you are barefoot almost. I've only worn them for one class, but the mesh insert is awesome. Just so you know, I wear size 8 street shoe and I got these in a 7 width D and they fit perfectly, with a tiny bit of room to grow into. But they don't look loose or anything serious. I also like that they have no drawstrings, so you don't have to cut them or tuck them in. My only complaint is that the vamp is a little bit higher than I would like, but it's not a big
deal.

Not the quality I expected from Bloch
by: GC - 03/08/2008 - California,
Comfort:

Fit: True to size
I purchased these and was disappointed by the product design and engineering. I have the Bloch "Pump" S0277L split sole ballet slippers (which I love!) and thought I would give these a try. Some things you should consider: the elastic is NOT adjustable, therefore the top of the shoe doesn't conform to the foot - it creates really unsightly gaps when your foot is pointing or flexing; it just doesn't feel snug around your foot. Also, it comes with elastic pre-sewn at the heels, which I normally like, but I thought these were sewn waaay too close to the heel and achilles tendon, placing unnecessary strain there. The padding under the ball of the foot and under the heel feels extremely thick and almost like a dance platform above the ground; it wasn't comfortable for me. The canvas seems thinner than the Bloch Pump and Bloch Prolite, so it feels cheaper, but this is just a conjecture. Lastly, the mesh insert at the arch did not seem supportive, nor did it hug my arch for an improved appearance. All in all, I think I will stick with the "Pump" S0277L, which is uber comfortable and make my medium arches look stunning!
