The original Bloch split-sole ballet shoe combines a leather upper with a soft and flexible canvas arch insert, which will not stretch out of shape. It features an elastic drawstring, cotton lining and suede leather sock lining. Comes with pre-sewn elastics.
These shoes have turned out to be the longest running standby in my daughter's dance "wardrobe". We have bought and outgrown many pairs now. My daughter is only 6 but is taller and has larger feet than most people her age so she now wears big kid sizes. She started wearing these almost two years ago and has never wanted to change despite trying on other versions, including plain leather slippers again and canvas slippers. She says these are more comfortable and that they help her "feet look prettier". We have had positive reviews from dance teachers as well. This shoe is a little more expensive than regular little girl ballet shoes but I think well worth the investment. They hold up extremely well, even surviving an innocent "washing" by my daughter that ended up in completely soaking wet shoes. I just let them air dry and they were fine. Now, if only she would stop growing so quickly...
I'm buying new ballet shoes for my daughter and the description doesn't explain the different width sizes.
