And I have weak feet, haha! But the shoes were beautiful while they lasted! Would be great for a beginner for sure, the toe area has a lot of room and the platform is easy to turn on.

I used to wear Grishko 2007, then went to Grishko Nova because they were the only shoes that fit my small, narrow feet but I could never get all the way over even with the Medium shank. I have strong ankles but the plastic in the shank did not allow me to move enough. I was recommended Bloch Serenade by a store owner in LA and I have been loving these shoes ever since. The hard shank is strong enough to make these shoes last a while, give and take a little jet glue, but also allow me to get all the way over. For pointe shoes, they are pretty comfortable and have a pretty satin sheen. They look great on my narrow feet and are the best 8th pair of pointe shoes yet! Highly recommend them.

These were my first pair of pointe shoes that i got when i was 9. They lasted a year without dying but I was like 40-50 pounds and i was dancing 1-2 times a week and i only replaced them because they got really ugly and ripped. They looked and fit great. I dont have a very high arch or a very flexible ankle like most dancers but even i could go on my box with these. I use Grishko Miracles (not sold on DDS) now and i love them even more. I would recommend the Serenades for beginners because they have a larger box and are easier to balance on. Most Grishko shoes have a pretty small box compared to other pointe shoes. These Bloch Serenades are great and i would recommend them BUT I do not recommend buying ANY pointe shoes online especially if it is a new style you want to try or a handmade shoe. If you want to try these out, go to a real life dance store that sells them and you can test them out before spending $50+ on pointe shoes that may not fit you.

so when i got them in the mail they were like 1-2 sizes smaller than i really wanted and i have wide feet in the front and narrow feet in the back so usually i like the elastic band to tighten around my foot and so it feels really nice and doesn't feel tight in the front and loose in the back instead they have kinda like a yarn but stronger and i have wide feet like i said earlier and the gave me a regular so it did not fit my foot at all.I recommend u get one of theses they feel really good.

I got these pointe shoes pretty recently. They're a bit harder than some of my other pointe shoes, but they will probably last a good amount of time if I jet glue them. They show my arches well and support my feet.

These pointe shoes work out fantastic for me. I have previously used Russian Pointe's, but they became way to soft of a shank for my foot. So, I ordered the regular shank serenades at first--they did great. However, they only lasted me about two-three weeks. So, I switched to the hard shank, and let me tell you, it's an amazing pointe shoe for younger girls with stronger arches. Once broken in, they are incredibly comfortable and look fabulous; I'm on my fifth pair! Definitely my favorite shoe so far.

I have a strong foot and very high arch. When i first got them they had a soft spot where the box attaches to the shank. Then, in less than 3 hours dancing with them one of my shanks snapped.

I have been on several different shoes before and these are my all time favorite and I keep going back to them! the only thing is that sometimes the shank will tend to come out a bit. so what I do is I will jet the box and outer shank just to ensure them. I just love the comfort they give while im dancing!

These pointe shoes were for my daughter, so I can not attest to their comfort. They do seem to be durable and she doesn't seem to break the boxes or shanks as quickly as she does with other brands and styles.

I bought these because "The Pointe Book" said these were a good shoe for people with archy flexible feet and hyperextended legs which I have. Once these bad boys are broken in they work great! They have a tapered box look but its a wide platform which I can only dance with. The only problem is I wish it had an elastic draw string! My poor achilles! Im stuck between a rock and a hard place between these and the euro balance.

I haven't worn these in class yet, but so far they are a great fit. I wear a 5 1/2 E with a regular shank. (I typically wear a 9/9.5 in street shoes, regular width) I have tapered toes and a wide forefoot and average heel. I wear pink gel Leo toe pads in the shoes. The box is very hard compared to other pointe shoes I've owned, but it will hopefully last longer. The platform is very stable, although I would not consider it a large/wide platform. The shoes is also a lovely shade of pink.

I've used this particular type of pointe shoe since I was 13 and I am now 21. I keep buying them because they tend to last longer then other shoes that I have tried. I get the strongest shank because I tend to go through regular shanks pretty quickly. I have pretty wide feet so I have to really squish the box and I'm between a 4 and a 4.5 so the shoes can be really painful. I've been using moleskin and ouch pouches to help. Aside from being painful these shoes are pretty good.

I have very wide feet and I wear these shoes in a width E. I have pretty short even length toes and high arches and these shoes work very nicely with my feet. These shoes are really great for balancing. These shoes don't last too long, that's why I jet glue them. I would recommend to try these shoes if you have similar feet as I do because these are great shoes, but I don't feel right recommending this to everyone because everyone has their own unique feet. I wear size 7.5 usually and I bought this in a 5 but next time I am getting it a half size smaller. Overall this is an amazing shoe for me!

I have ordered these shoes again after getting back onto pointe over the past couple of years (after 10+ off). I had these shoes when I was younger and have always been pleased. Easy to break in, and their various widths accommodate wide feet (I wear width C and have bunions and they are much more comfortable than other brands and styles). The box provides great support. Great shoes for beginner or professional.

These are excellent shoes for all levels of experience. I always wear these shoes. The shanks are very hard and stiff. These shoes take a while to break in but once you do they are wonderful. The sizing chart is very accurate. I wear a street shoe size 10 regular width. In these pointe shoes I wear a 7and 1/2 C. I order them a half size larger than what I need because I like to use lots of padding.

This pointe shoe is very comfortable and hugs your arch well. The shoe is very light and easy to break in. Because of my low/medium arches, I bent the shanks with my hands before wearing. The shoe tends to run large but it may be because of the width. If it weren't for the small width in the box, this would be my pointe shoe, but I wore the widest width size, E, and they were still a too tapered. My pinky toe was always sticking out a little and I had to adjust my foot in the box often. I even flattened out the box with a door hinge and by stepping on it. Now I'm trying out Bloch Sonatas which offer the width that I need for proper balance.

I just revived my first pointe shoe fitting about a hour ago. After trying out seven pairs of pointe shoes till they could find a good pair, my teacher finally decided on these for me. I love how they look and am super excited about my first year on pointe! They have a nice platform and I can already out pirouette most my class (doubles). I bought about three pairs for four months with about four hours of pointe week. My mom (once a soloist with ABT) sewed them for me and has taught me some really cool tips to keep them nice looking. So excited! My classes and my solo starts up next week!!!!

These are "my shoe". I tried one other brand and style and I broke it in way too fast, the Blochs fit well and last me longer (I do need to buy the Hard shank however). I like this shoe because it has a high vamp and I have overdeveloped arches so my foot feels more secure in this shoe. It has a box that's not too narrow while still looking tapered. I feel very confident and secure in these shoes and they look very professional on-stage.

Okay so I have been wearing the Bloch Aspiration for a couple of months now, but as I continue to get stronger, that shank is just not holding up as long as it should, for me. I love the shoe though, because I have very shot, wide feet, so the long vamp did very well on my foot. I have been looking into the Serenade because the shank is more durable than the Aspiration, my question is, is the shank on the serenade as long or long like the Aspiration? As many opinions on this would be MUCH appreciated! Thanks!

I have danced en pointe for 20 (from 5-25) years and these are the best pointe shoes I have ever worn. They work very well for lots of different types of feet (I know lots of different footed people who all use this shoe and all love it). They are durable, comfertable (my feet are usually in agony, but ever since I got these my feet haven't hurt one bit!!), and last of all beautiful!!! If your current shoes aren't working for you and you don't know what you should try next, serenades are the way to go, you'll LOVE them!!!!!!!!!!!

I am the type of person who constantly changes shoes in order for them to be absolutely perfect! These shoes I have stuck with for a long time for good reason. They are perfect for feet that tend to sickle because it really straightens them out. They are very quiet when I jump and have a nice color. When I sew them, it is a lot harder to poke all the way through the satin on the outside. I can sew them fast without worrying about poking through. The only problem would be that my feet are kinda wide so when they break down a lot it makes my foot look strange from the side when I am up on pointe. Also, they squeeze my feet a little when I first wear them which causes some discomfort. Overall I love these shoes!

Ca,
I love the way these shoes have the perfect amount of arch support, and a slightly tapered box for my narrow feet, its like these shoes were custom made for me! Minnesota,
These shoes are the best! They fit my narrow foot and high arch! I have tried Capezio and Grishko 2007. If these shoes haven't worked for your narrow foot please try the Serenade! I would also recommend the Bloch Sonata if you are giving second thoughts about the Serenade! Good luck in finding your perfect shoe! p.s. I've had about 3 pairs of Bloch Serenades. They always fit my feet perfectly (high arch, narrow heel) and break in very well. They're not too soft, which can be a big problem for dancers with strong feet, or too hard - just soft enough to go over on, but don't buckle at all. Last a long time, with 2 hr pointe classes 3x a week. Super comfy.
Love, love, love em!!!!

Henderson, Nv,
I've been on pointe for about 5 years and I've only had one other type of shoe. That was only because the store I went to didn't carry Serenades anymore. I have a really high arch, and the shoe looks like my foot. I usually break them in within 2 classes (1 hour each). I have to order them with the harder shanks, though, because I have broken them in 2 pairs. I for sure recommend these shoes.

My best friend at ballet has these shoes and they look beautiful. We are both advanced dancers and they last a long time because we are both thin. When I tried on her shoes I was so impressed that I'm preparing to get a pair myself. I can't wait to try these pointe shoes because they work for people who don't have a super arch. I have these shoes and I have been pleased with them. When I break them in just right, they are very flattering and they look GORGEOUS on my friend, too. (Although they do not flatter my foot as much as my Bloch Axiom.) They are great for class and to work in, they are a sturdy, perfect shoe for class! I could recommend these for anyone- beginner-professional and with all kinds of feet! I have no problems with them at all. They are my stronghold shoes. Great Puntas!

San Jose, Ca,
The only reason I give these shoes 4 stars instead of 5 is because they died so fast. I had them for two days and on the third, I jet glued them. They are so nice! I am going to get the MKII version next time, and a harder shank. I only got the med. shank because I needed a pair of shoes so badly I got them in a store, and they only carried med. The box is nice, with a wide platform and although the box died in two days of dancing, if I jet glue the box before I wear them, they might last longer. I didn't kill them to start with either. I flattened out the box a little and bent the shank in a door, that's it. Ready to go! I really love them.

I have a really high arch, (45 degrees)and I used these as my 2 (med. shank),3,4 (hard shanks)pointe shoes. Each worked well for about a month, but I broke the hard shanks, but only bent the soft one! If you have a lower arch, these work really well. Jet glue helped, but they don't last long. They look really flattering, but don't work as well on my feet. Great shoe though!

Washington,
I am one of those dancers who has super strong feet...though my left foot is a little weaker. When I tried these, the left foot completely killed the box after about 2 classes. While my right foot had barely been broken in. This was very surprising considering my right foot is stronger. And unlike normal, my feet ached like no tomorrow. I jet glued it and moved on. These shoes did let me have a bit more balance I must admit, but they aren't the shoe for me. Happy dancing!

I just ordered these and I'm very excited to get them. They are my second pair of pointes. My current pair is Merlet performance. They are nice shoes, they have a rather hard shank though. I tried on my teacher's shoes, since we are the same size, and these points were amazing! Great for balance, the shank is easier to break in, and the color is very pretty. It is easier to roll up to en pointe, you can just pop right up there. I know everyone's feet are different and anyone who is buying pointe shoes for the first time should really be fitted to avoid problems. But I do recommend these shoes.

All the pointe shoes I have owned have been the Bloch Serenade. This is a great shoe for beginners. The long vamp is great for balancing and makes it easy to turn. I am doing advanced parts in productions and advanced classes now, so the next pair I am going to try are going to be Freeds because the small vamp makes it easier to move.

North Carolina,
These shoes are certainly supportive. I am afraid they don't quite do enough to strengthen the ankles/feet. A major problem that I have had is with the sizing. I wear a size 8 street shoe which means I need a 5 in these. The first several pairs I ordered from DDS fit perfectly, but since then, they have been about a 1/2 of a size too large. Yes, I have continued to order a 5 and not a 5 1/2. This makes the shoe quite unstable and the shank slips sideways from the foot. Has anyone else had trouble with faulty sizing?

When I first got these, my fitter said they were the perfect style for my feet. The shoes work well with wide feet, but they have a narrow heel that eliminates bunching at the heel. I have tried Grishkos and Capezios since, but have returned to these because they are a reliable shoe that help me with my alignment on pointe. My only complaint is that they creak while going through demi-pointe.

California,
This shoe is the most comfortable I have worn and is good for balancing. I have a wide foot with a narrow heel, long toes without much taper and a very high arch. In street shoes, I wear between an M and W width and a D width works well for me. I can wear Serenades with a regular shank for about 8 hours, as compared to 3 hours for Grishko 2007s with a medium shank. My main complaint is that as they break in, there is a very frustrating period where the shank has softened under my arch, but not under my metatarsals, so it feels as if the shoe is pushing me off pointe, even though I have very strong feet. This was worse with the strong shank, and as others have mentioned, the strong shank is very thick so stability is an issue.

I have worn probably 15 different shoes at different stages in my dance career, and these are the shoes that I come back to for my strong but mildly arched, wide feet. These shoes roll up easily and balance well. There is some difficulty with the thicker shank, but the way these shoes last makes it worth working through. I'm here to buy another pair.

These pointe shoes are wonderful. I've been on pointe for three years now and mainly stuck to Bloch Sonatas because they were really the first shoe I'd ever liked. I love this shoe! I have recently switched to Sanshas, but these are still my favourite. They hold up for a long time and are great for a wider foot and strong arches. I feel like the boxes are awfully hard, but this could be good for you. The toes are very flat and wide for good balance, and lateral balance isn't bad for such a thick shank.

Overall, this pointe shoe wasn't great. I have worn various Bloch models, Capezio Glisse ES and now reside in Suffolks. The Serenade looks pretty but acts like a support. It simply props you up on pointe and allows you to sit there hardly working at all. During the week that I wore them (that's how long they had last, through about 15 hrs. of pointe! nice!)I felt as if my feet and ankles had weakened! Simply because it was a no hassle shoe. I wouldn't recommend this shoe for anything but performances, if that...

Indiana,
These were my first pair of pointe shoes. They were easy to break in and because of that, I got to do turns across the floor before anyone else.

Kansas,
I have worn this shoe for several years and have loved it. I tried Capezio for my first shoe, and it wore out way too fast. After using Bloch Serenade, I loved them! As the shoes break in though, they never fail to squeak. Also, once they're dead, they're really dead - the box breaks down around the sides and edges. Other than that, they fit well and looked good with my medium arches and for my strong feet. I was able to use each pair for about 4 months with 3 hours of pointe a week. Fantastic for a wide range of skill.

Minnesota,
These were the first pointe shoes I ever owned and I LOVE them! They were easy to break in which turned out to be a great advantage (especially when the rest of the class was complaining!) GREAT SHOES FOR SOMEONE WITH SIZE 11 FEET!

Michigan,
These were the first pointe shoes I wore, and they were great for balancing and were very supportive. I danced about an hour or so a week on them for 2 years, and still wear them off and on 2 years later! And it's a decent price too. My only complaints are that the hard shank is very hard, so it takes time to get over your shoes, and my feet have bunions and a narrow heel, so they fit snug at the front and were loose toward the back.

Pennsylvania,
I have been on pointe for over six years, and these shoes are by far the best I've tried. I have strong feet and long toes, so the long, supportive vamp and hard shank are excellent. I do quite a bit of turning, and these shoes are perfect for it. They usually last me two-three weeks of rehearsals and four weeks without. The only difficulty I have experienced is a tendency of the boxes to wear in such a way that they roll inward towards the big toe. However, I would recommend this shoe to anyone from beginners to more experienced dancers looking for a change that accentuates your arch and foot.

California,
These are the first pointe shoes I've danced in and I really like them so far! They've lasted for a really long time (about 6 months of a 30 minute pointe class a week, plus random amounts of time spent practicing at home)... They are really supportive and easy to balance in. I love them!

California,
I think this is a very good pointe shoe. It is very easy to dance on. I have a very bendy foot, so I get it in hard shank. It was the second pointe shoe I tried when I first got on pointe and that was a year ago. I still wear it and I think I might wear it for ever.

I have worn these shoes for 5 years. These were the 2nd pair of pointe shoes I ever tried and I stuck with them. They are a little harder than most shoes and may take a while to break in, but they lasted a good 3-4 months for me.

These really are great shoes. I tried looking for a new shoe after a while just to change things up a little ....try something new. So I tried the Primasoft Vole. I couldn't stand being without my Bloch Serenade!! Needless to say I'm back with Bloch Serenade and we're dancing together in perfect harmony! I recommend this shoe to anyone, especially people with wide feet like mine.

North Dakota,
I have tried other pointe shoes but I seem to always go back to these shoes. They flatter your arch, and are easy to roll up en pointe. They have outlasted every other kind of pointe shoes that I have owned. A good choice for determined dancers.
