Bloch's "Axiom" pointe shoe is designed for beginners to professionals and features a U-shaped vamp, red board and leather board shanks and a padded heel counter. The low profile box height and pre-shaped sides provide more points of contact and the lower sides and angled seaming decreases bagginess and creasing. Available in Regular (3/4) or Hard shank.
Ribbons not included. This item ships for FREE! However it may not be eligible for some discounts .
I love these shoes SO much!!, first off they're not over priced, and they look very nice on my feet. I wear the axiom hards because I have a really strong arch and foot. I unfortunately go through these shoes every two months which isn't to bad!!

These were the second type of shoe i got. I had been wearing Russians for some time, and i was ready for a change. I got the three quarter shank, because i do not not have flexible feet. I got two pairs, plus some other types for a summer camp. My first pair was amazing for a solid week, then i realized that the box was fully exposed, there was only one layer of "the white stuff." I was very frustrated, and at this point, the shank was completely dead, so i went to the second pair. I wore them once, and then THEY DIED. I pulled back the shank, and it was completely snapped in half, and the top half came off. i glued it back together, then i rolled my ankle 5,000,000,000 times that day. I love the shoe very much, but the second pair was super strange, and really frustrating.

Here is my foot profile... straight, long narrow, low profile,Long instep, medium arch, Egyptian or peasant foot, compressible across the metatarsals which makes my foot narrower en pointe. I have a large gap between the first and second toe that I fill with a gel pad.
I was professionally fit for the Bloch Axiom and the Grishkco 2007. I liked both shoes. They were both comfortable, but I chose to start with the Axiom because I felt it would be lighter, softer, and easier to break in. I am a beginner. Although I have been in ballet class for 15 years I did not want to kid myself about the difficulty and pain that was ahead of me. The Axiom made it easy to roll up onto the box. My foot feels comfortable on flat and en pointe. I have been in these shoes, at the barre, for roughly 3 hrs, no blisters or bruising. These shoes look nice, flatter my leg line by elongating my feet and have worked for me so far.

BEST PAIR OF POINTE SHOES EVER
I absolutely would recommend these shoes! I've only ever had good experiences with this type of shoe. They're fairly easy to break in but last a long time. Personally, I liked the hard shank more than the 3/4 shank because I believe it lasted slightly longer. I found that the box doesn't wear down very easily and is extremely supportive. They're only slightly uncomfortable when they're brand new (as are all pointe shoes), but other than that they're perfect. Definitely a shoe to try!

GOOD FOR YOUR FIRST PAIR
These are my first pair of pointe shoes ( I know, I was the 30 year old woman being fitted for her first pair of pointe shoes!) and I love them so far. They really make me feel held up in the box and my second class in them was great. I didn't feel like I was going to go over my box or that I was going to fall off of them! Although it may have been the fact that it wasn't the first time I was en pointe that helped as well. The only thing I feel like bothers me is the shank feels lumpy at the top of the box where it connects. But I also let the owner of our school break them in and sew them for me, and had been told by a few people to not let her break them because she does it in a weird place and they die fast after that. We will see how long they hold up and I will order my second pair here and compare them. She pulled the whole sole apart and even pulled out the nails that tacked the shank together so it almost looks like the sole is separating from the shoe!!! Eek!!! But they are my firsts and I love them, and the other woman I dance with all asked which shoes I got because they make my feet look so pretty.

PRACTICE YOUR COVERING UP PAIN SMILE!
I gess the title is kind of misleading; I didn't find these terribly painfull. But they were a huge hassle. I have pretty strong, archy feet and boy do they look nice in these shoes! That being said I broke them in at the wrong spot (the back edge of the box) and so now it is a pain in the rear end to do anything coming backwards. I didn't understand that I was doing that, as I was just trying to get up in them. But now I dred putting them on...I have had them for about a month and a half and they are almost dead. I gess I should say that it is more worry and pain then they are worth: when I and dancing I do not want to spend up every last drop of my brain space worrying about them.

AWESOME
These shoes are so much better than my last pair! They are a very nice color, and I love the way the shank is built with the red board too. They really accentuate my arches and my legs and I feel safe dancing on them (definitely important! Lol). With these shoes and the padding I use, I can feel the floor and feel very little pain! I would have given these pointe shoes five stars out of five but they obviously don't last forever!

I HAD THESE
I had these for my first pair of pointe shoe because I have very long narrow feet with long toes. They fit me well but the box was so small it made my toes look triangular and the rest of my foot look very fat. I wear a street shoe 8.5 and my pointe shoe size is 5x.

GOOD SHOES
These are my first pair and so far, have been good. i have had them for a month and a half but I have practiced at least once a day for 10-40 minutes at a time. They have held up fine but I dont like the V-shaped vamp so much. Another thing is that I have very wide feet, so when I go up, it looks a little strang cuz theres a part thats looks really wide and I definitly dont like the look of that. Overall, these are really good shoes so far

GREAT SHOES, EVEN FOR LOW TO MEDIUM ARCH
These are the first paste shoes I've ever used. I started with and continued to use Gaynor Mindens for 4 years, and these are a great transition. I use a toe spacer between my 1st and second toes, and Ouch Pouch Jr toe pads.
I ordered two sizes smaller than my street shoe, and got the regular shank. I've used these shoes for 2, coming up on 3 months and they're still going strong! I have sweaty feet, so I was sure I'd kill them within a few weeks. The box is still hard, and I finally have the shank super soft, to where it can bend to touch the box. I've never had pointe shoes so lightweight, running on demi pointe is easy in Axioms!
My only problem was that I struggled to get over the box when I was first breaking them in, but that's because of my inexperience with paste shoes. I'll try using a little rubbing alcohol to help soften the shank through demi-pointe, and I should be golden. I'm off to paint them with Future floor wax now that they're broken in perfectly :D

Samantha11/08/2009 Minnesota,
I absolutely love these shoes! I have been dancing en pointe for about 4 years now, and have tried many different brands of shoes. But these ones seem to be the ones that fit the best. I naturally have a good arch and strong ankle so I go through shoes faster than most people. The regular shank really didn't work for me considering I went through them in 4 weeks. I decided to try the Strong shank since the shoes fit so well and showcased my feet. I am really glad that I tried them because they lasted about 3 months (which is about how long pointe shoes should last if you are dancing the amount of time I am)they look beautiful and they just work right with my feet :)

I love the Axiom! It is the best shoe I have ever used! When you first use them, yes they are a little bit uncomfortable, but then you get used to them! It comforts your arch and it isn't very noisy!

BEAUTIFUL, BUT QUITE ODD
This shoe is so pretty! but it did have some flaws. My feet are narrow with long tapered toes, so I ordered a B. The fit was wonderful, but the shoe made my feet look wide and bulky, which is the weird part for me since my feet are narrow. Also, the shoe stopped me from going over my box which was also quite odd, for a moment I thought the vamp may have been too long for my toes, but then my toes are quite longer than usual, so this can't be right. I love this shoe, but I find it kinda odd.

BREAKS IN FAST AND LOOKS BEAUTIFUL!
I love the color of the shoe and the fact that it breaks in quickly. However, I've been wearing these for about a month and they're already quite soft, and I got the regular shank. This is my first pair, and I'd say they're good for tapered toes and people with narrow feet.

PERFECT
Although I did not get my shoes from DDS I have had these for years. I have a high arch and they have a flexible shank so that I can roll through my feet. For those people who say the shoe breaks in quickly I would suggest super gluing the shank down.

DID NOT WORK FOR ME
I got these shoes while dancing on pointe twice a week, and they were totally dead within three months. I have good arches and a high instep, so I would not recommend these shoes to anyone of that description. Also, they broke in wrong so that the vamp had almost a lump in it, making it really hard to releve. I don't want to discourage from these totally though, they were very comfortable and had the shape of Gaynors, making them very pretty. They just didn't work for me

The shoe is very comfortable and flattering. However, I have a very high arch and the shoes only lasted me 2 classes. The box became soft and the shank is way too soft. The platform is also narrower than what I'm used to and didn't feel as stable on them. The Serenades are definitely a stronger shoe.

PRETTY DANG GOOD
These shoes were my 3rd and 4th pair. They were very comfy and I never got a single blister. The only problem was I didn't get on the tips very well. That may just be me though. Mine also didn't last that long. I learned that some Bloch shoes are more for a beginner. So maybe your 2nd pair? What ever works for you!

LOVELY!
These are by far the most beautiful pointe shoes I've ever worn! They are gorgeous from every angle and are perfect for narrow, tapered feet. About the sizing - they say that you should go down three sizes. I did, but should have gone down 2 1/2 instead. I'm returning my pair so I can go up a half a size. For reference - I wear a 6C in Bloch Signature Rehearsal, and wear a 6 XX in these shoes.

FANTASTIC.
Blochs tend to make my feet feel, as the stereotype goes, blocky. But these Axioms are simply fantastic. I have a decent arch; actually, my right foot is rather crummy, so I had a much easier time getting up on these on my left. However, they are an excellent training shoe. After manually breaking them in (I prefer to do this because it is much more comfortable the first time I wear them and REALLY break them in), I found that I could roll up easily on this shoe. The first time I wore them, it was for a performance; but it was fantastic. The only problem was the sizing; my foot got a bit cramped because the sizing chart is a bit off. If you've got a foot that's on the border between two sizes, get the bigger one. Also, the width is rather important, as I got an XX and really should have gotten an XXX. It's a rather narrow shoe.
All in all, an excellent deal; it comes highly recommended by an extremely picky dancer. (It is not recommended, however, for people with high arches.)

I THINK IT'S NICE....
When I looked at the Bloch Axiom, it looks very flattering. I was thinking of this for my next pair . I'm still in my first pair and it's called "Bloch Sonata". My feet are very narrow, long, tapered, and my toes are long and tapered. Do you think this shoe could be great for narrow and tapered feet like mine?

When I first wore these shoes, I thought that these were amazing because they had a beautiful look and the shank hit perfectly. I have really strong feet and high arches, so these were beginning to get wobbly on the 2nd class with them, and then they were undanceable come the 3rd class. If you have really weak feet, then these are really nice because they don't need to be broken in, but otherwise, try something else.

These shoes are very comfortable. I've had some troubles with my achilles lately, but these shoes really help me push up and out of the arch, while not swelling up the achilles. My only complaint is that they wear out pretty quickly. Price is reasonable though.

THE BEST I'VE EVER WORN!
These shoes fit me perfectly! They were the first pair I tried on at my last fitting and I was amazed at how beautiful they looked and how strong and comfortable they felt. They were strong through the toes and the shank was flexible enough to really show off my arch, a problem I've had with many other shoes. My instructor was also impressed at how the shoe "seemed shaped for my feet." I love these shoes, they are perfect for me. I've never enjoyed pointe as much as when I found these shoes, the right shoe really matters, and these were the right shoes for me.

GREAT ALL AROUND SHOE
These are a great buy. They are relatively inexpensive, and fit (according to my dance retailer) many different types of feet. However, if you have a very high arch and tend to pop out of shoes, these shoes are not supportive enough. Axiom shoes bend at just the right place on the arch, and look elegant. I am used to Freeds, and these are a sleeker, better fitting shoe for me. I wear a 5 "no X" in Freeds, and a 4.5 XX in these, just for comparison. The fitted and supportive heel is also a nice feature. Axiom pointe shoes create a striking line, and fit (me) well. I highly recommend them!

amity 04/02/2014 Age: 17 or under Is the Bloch Axiom with a hard shank the same as the Bloch Axiom Strong?
I currently wear the Bloch Axiom Strong (S0108S) but this site does not specifically sell them in Strong. If i order the hard shank will it be the same as the strong version?
Yes, the strong and the hard are the same thing. - DDS Customer Service (04/04/2014)
I know this sounds like a stupid question, but I have been looking at the Bloch Axioms on other websites and they either say "3/4 shank Style" or they do not say anything at all about the type of shank it is. Is it a true 3/4 shank, meaning is 1/4 of the shank missing, for the Regular shank? Thank you in advance!
Yes the 3/4" shank is missing 1/4" of the shank. - DDS Customer Service (03/13/2014)
