These pants looked like exactly what I wanted, and they surely do make one sweat a lot. The trouble is they rip really easily! After rehearsing in them with my partner only three times, they had ripped in three places along the seams. I'm very disappointed.
Bought two. Both got torn around the crotch after about 10th wear. I have a similar pair from another store/maker and they are lasting for much longer time.
This is by far the worse pants I have bought. I have these in all different brands an I was very disappointed at the quality and fit on these Russian Pointe ones. They ripped on the first class I wore them! I think these are not meant for dancing just wearing them around...
Based on other reviews, I ordered both sizes. At 5'7", the waistband comes up to under my armpits (very long) in both sizes. For the leg length, the SM was about ankle length and the ML was long (I wouldn't have to roll the legs but I could and it would look fine). As the model shows, these pants are meant to be rolled at the waist or hem. For the ML, I felt like I could fit another person in there with me (I usually wear a women's large in dancewear). I returned the ML and kept the SM. Both sizes are over large everywhere, except the crotch area which also have the seam connections. I tried plies and let's just say its worrisome...I shouldn't split them, but they don't flex well for plies.
The pants are very large, but that was what I wanted! I have had trouble in the past ordering ripstop shorts that were not roomy enough for oversplits, etc. These are plenty roomy in the ML size. My waist 31", hip 40". They are almost absurdly long in the waist, as I can pull them up over my boobs. I've found they look best by tightly rolling the waist down about 5 times so it isn't so voluminous. I would recommend these to dancers who have larger hips and thighs or are looking to wear over layers of shorts or leggings.
Great for warming up but not good quality at ALL! I wore them ONCE and noticed a tear in the under thigh. After my 3rd time wearing them the tear got extremely bigger and I am not sure how to repair them considering the material. Great for keeping and getting you warm but quality does NOT allow you to move in them even though that is what they're made for!
I can't give a very thorough review of these mostly because they were so comically large, I could barely waddle in them - much less dance! I'm 5'2 and about 112 lb. and almost always wear a small in dancewear but you could fit my dad and an uncle in these pants. As soon as I unpacked them, I knew I was going to have to return them.
Aside from the fit, the pants seemed to be of decent quality. The fabric feels pretty durable and comfortable, if a bit rubbery. The hems are a bit rough but I imagine that would become more comfortable with wear. The elastic felt secure and pretty comfortable.
I ordered pink and it was mostly true to the shade shown online. It's a little more intense and a little more purple but overall still a nice pastel shade. If you're looking for a nice warm pink (say, peony), then these won't fit that, but the color is still nice enough and doesn't look cheap or anything.
I purchased these in a size small. When they arrived they hear HUGE. I measured them and they were 52" long! I realize they are made to be rolled but there is no way my 5'3" daughter could move in them. In addition the fabric is very stiff, not like other trash bag dance pants I have purchased from this site.
