I'm a very standard 6.5 in street shoes, sometimes even 6. I ordered 6.5, tried them on with no socks and they were tight - I walked around in them for 10 min and they left marks on my skin that were still there 30 min later. I'm hoping they will expand a bit with use, but given that my feet also swell during dancing, I'm not too optimistic. Otherwise very comfortable, cute, and comes with a second pair of elastics.
It is a challenge to find nice, non-leather character shoes, but Discount Dance has some very good options. I like the look of the canvas shoes, and the elastic strap makes them very quick and easy to slip on and off. The heel height, 1.5 inches, is perfect for class. I just ordered my second pair of camel color and my first pair of black. True, the bottom of the shoe is suede, but the rest is non-leather, and that works for me!
