I've tried many different pointe shoes but find these to be one of the best for a very flexible foot. They do not last as long as a hard shank but I love the way these work for my feet and the way they make my foot look. They have become my favorite shoe.

GOOD SHOE FOR MY FEET
Personally I really like this shoe. The demi pointe and shank didn't take terribly long for me to break in, maybe by the end of 2 one hour classes. My only concern is that when I ordered the flexible medium shank I received a flexible hard shank, which is very strange because discount dance doesn't even have the FH shank as an option. My feet are rather strong so I ended up liking the FH shank better than the FM shank as they last longer while I am still able to get over the box.

BEST POINTE SHOES EVER!
I have tried many pairs of pointe shoes, and these have by far been my favorite kind. They last longer than my previous ones, and they are so much more comfortable to dance in. Of course pointe shoes aren't comfortable... but I gave these a five star rating because they are much more comfortable than any shoe I have ever tried. If you go to a dance store and get fitted for these, your feet will be sooooo happy!

GREAT POINTE SHOE!
I have tried several other pairs of shoes, and these are by far the best. They look amazing on my feet and the box doesn't sink. Unlike what others said, the shoes demi pointe was very easy to break in and the shank is very stable. My only complaint, is that the box of the shoe dies really quickly. Within 10 classes or so, the box was soft, not good for dancing in. Overall though, it is a great shoe!

LOVE THEM!
I love how they look on my foot! The durability is awesome, i bought the pair that died a week ago in June!!! And I dance A LOT! Because they are hand made it is hard to order just because you never know whether they will be to big or to small. They are my favorite shoe so far!

PERFECT POINTE
These shoes are great - large platform that is easy to balance on, pre-arched so it takes barely no time to break in, and they come in a harder shank. The regular shank, I break down in about 2 weeks, but these last a few months if I trade off with another pair.

VERY COMFORTABLE AND FLATTERING, BUT...
IT TAKES FOREVER TO BREAK IN THE DEMI-POINTE, AND THE SHANK DIES TOO QUICK!!! I have had these pointe shoes for four days, and the shank is already dead, but the box is still stiff! And this happens EVERY TIME!!! I recommend these shoes for beginners, who have time to prepare and break in pointe shoes, but not for pre-professional students. I still wear these shoes for performance (sometimes), and have been wearing these for some time, but I'm going to try Gaynor Minden next. They don't "die", and they are customizable.

MY FAVORITE SO FAR!!
I used to hate these shoes, but now i realize that they were the best shes that I've ever worn!! I've had capezio arias (which died quickly), capezio glisse (which are just overall terrible) and now these. They take a little while to break in, but once they do, they are like heaven!! I am a size 9.5-10 and have wide, flat feet. The only reason I got rid of these is because my teacher said the color was too light for recital. They fit my feet perfectly and its easy to roll through demi pointe. I just wish I could buy another pair :(

PERFECT!
These are absolutely amazing! They were my first pair of pointe shoes, and I have loved them ever since I got them. They are actually pretty comfortable, and they look absolutely stunning on my feet while in class. It does take awhile to break in Demi-pointe, which is my only complaint. But all around, they are amazing shoes and I will definitely be buying them again!

AMAZING SHOE BUT...
I absolutely LOVE these shoes! They are my third pair off pointe shoes and I am in love!! I can really feel the floor and they are very quiet compared to my first two pairs of Grishkos I had. My only thing is.. I really wish that you sold them in my sizing! I really need this shoe before next week because I'm performing on pointe on May 31st and they need to be broken in. I have a really wide foot so I need the W6 You go up to a W5. :( the vamp I have is a 2 and I read the Q&A and you ( DD) said that the only size you have is a medium, the equivalent to a size 3 or 4 vamp. Once again I really love this shoe and totally recommend these to anyone who has STRONG feet! I broke in my demi by my second class (I do 1 hr to 1 1/2 hrs a week of pointe).after having them for about two months they are starting to break down faster and I need new ones!! Once again I recommend these to people who have strong feet and who can endure a harder shank than normal shoes but I really wish that you would just offer more widths and vamp sizes.

WORKS FOR MY FEET! I LOVE THEM :)
These are my most recent pair. I also had Russian pointe encore, but Rubin works better for my feet. Then again, it's different for everyone's unique feet, so I can't say this for everybody. I tried about 7-8 different models, and these are my favorite so far. Breaking them wasn't as hard as other people said. (I got flexible medium) Believe it or not, the hardest to break them was Grishko Maya medium shank. It almost gave me foot cramps, I had to take them off in the middle of my pointe class. I've learned my lesson, and I broke them in a little bit (manually, of course) before class, and it never gave me problems. I can run around in demi-pointe, and they don't hurt my feet at all. The bottom is (box) wearing out evenly, so I guess I am over the box well too. Without trying it too hard. I will definitely purchase them again :)

NT MY FAVOURITE
I personally hate this shoe. A few of the older girls use them and love them, so I won't bash them too badly.
The shank is really thick and rounded, making demi-pointe balance impossible, like there's a water bottle tied to the bottom of your pointe shoe (not that exaggerated, of course, just to give you an image). Also the box is large and VERY square and defined. That paired with a super hard shank that is difficult to roll-through makes getting on pointe(for a tapered foot like mine) very difficult and painful. All of the pressure is on my big toe. It is very difficult for me to get over my box.
Also, breaking them in is impossible!! I had to bang the wings with a hammer and I had to ask my brother the beat up the shank for me.

COMFORTABLE, ARCHED
These shoes have some of the harder shanks for Russians. I have had these shoes for about a month. I dance en pointe only about 3 hours a week. I feel that they are very comfortable and easy to go up on pointe since they come with a slight arch. I have a semi narrow foot and a small heel. My only complaint is that the heel is baggy on me and a few other friends that have the same shoe. Otherwise they are great.

GREAT SHOE
As soon as I went up in these I felt instantly comfortable. I tried bloch and grishko's but these were definitely my favorites. The satin is not very pink at all. It's a very light pink which is almost white. The shoe also comes pre arched but the demi pointe is extremely hard to break in which is my only complaint.

Libby 04/11/2021 Warrenton-va Is this longmedium vamp?
The shoe she is wearing is Russian Pointe Shoe Rubin
rd 40 W2 V2 FS
This would be a medium vamp (V2). - DDS Customer Service (04/15/2021)
I have gotten Russians from my local dance store, and on the box the model name says "RV." What type of shoe is this? (Like rubin, diamond?)
Style RV is the Rubin, but it is for the V-cut style. Please reference the picture in the "Alternate Views" section to see the differences. We offer the U-cut, style RD. - DDS Customer Service (02/25/2014)
Vamp size for 'medium' in Russian Pointe Rubin Pointe Shoe (Ruby) Style No: RD
I need to get a Vamp size of 2 in the Russian Pointe Rubin Pointe Shoe (Ruby)
Style No: RD. I can only select medium. One of the staff said it meant 2 yet another said it meant 3 or 4. Can I have confirmation of which exactly it is. I would like to order several pairs but I don't want to have to return them.
Thanks...Diane

bmwballerina2 08/07/2013 Age: 17 or under size and width
I know im going to order this shoe and at this moment i have a 37.5 3X in my cart but in my previous pair of grishko i wore 5 1/2 4X do you think that what i have now is fine in my cart? I dont have a really wide foot but i dont have a skinny one either please help
If your street shoe is an 7.5, the suggested equivalent would be the 37.5. I might try the 3X or 4X, depending on your foot. However, we recommend (before purchasing any new pointe shoe) that you be professionally fit in a store. Wearing a shoe that is even slightly off will risk permanent foot and ankle damage. - DDS Customer Service (08/07/2013)
