For Teaching

I bought these after reading other reviews from teachers who swore by them. I've been having heel pain after teaching for longer than 2 hours, so I knew I had to switch from my tennis shoes to something else. And these shoes were an excellent choice. Supportive in all the right places, comfortable, and easy to pointe in. I no longer have the same pain due to being actually supported where I need it (hyperextended, so I know I sit in my heels a ton, and this helps me keep out of them)!

Perfect for Teaching

My jazz shoes weren't holding up as well as I'd like and they weren't supporting my feet enough so I would leave teaching for 5 straight hours barely able to walk. This still show my point enough to teach, but they also support me well enough that I can function after a full teaching day!

I ordered these for teaching pom and hip hop classes, and was super nervous about the sizing. I can wear a 4 in girl's shoes but usually wear a 5.5 in women's because 5's are basically non existent. I ordered a 5 in these and they were great! My toes barely touch the end. They seem kind of loose all over but I haven't danced in them yet, just tried them on when they got here. I feel like they're a good alternative if you don't want to (or can't, like me lol) drop 60 bucks on other brands.

My daughters wears a size 5 or 6. Based on the reviews, I bought street sizes and it was 2 sizes too small. Buy the two sizes bigger.

I cannot stress enough that no one should order these two sizes up. HUGE. Regular street size is what you need. Waste of time sending back now....

Don't follow sizing chart.
by: AlaskaB - 09/28/2015
Comfort:
Durability:
It has no basis in reality. I wear a 7.5 in Women's, or an 8 when shoes don't come in half sizes. The chart said to order a 9, so I did. There is at least an extra inch of room in these shoes. I just noticed they use the same chart for Sansha flat shoes. I wear an 8M in those, so I think I need to reorder in an 8. What a pain.

Incorrect size and bulky
by: GABS - 04/10/2015
Comfort:
After researching which type of sneaker to try, I decided on the "high-step." I followed the sizing chart and reviews and ordered a 7... my street shoe is between a 5.5 and 6. Big mistake! When I put the shoe on, it looked like I had clown shoes on! They were at least 2 sizes too big. I did not like how chunky they looked and the material looked cheap and stiff. Maybe if they were the right size and I was able to mold them to my feet, they'd look better...??? I've always stuck to the more traditional jazz shoe and decided to try a sneaker b/c my knee joints and feet are starting to bother me... guess I'll keep looking!

Good Quality

Good fit, good material, comfortable once you break them in. However, does not have good grip to ground which is what I need for my dance.

Sizing is way off but shoe is nice
by: Linders - 12/03/2013
Comfort:
Durability:
I wear a size 11 (women's) so I ordered a size 13 to be safe. It was really tight. Having to pay to ship these back, and then pay another 5.95 to order another size up..... now that I know, it's fine but the sizing recommendations were not right for me. That being said, the shoe is comfortable and durable - a basic dance tennis shoe. The split sole is nice too.

We wear this style of sneakers for color guard. They work great and last four years without any sign of falling apart. Follow the sizing chart included on this site; it's right. I highly recommend for dancing/marching outdoors.

waaaaaaaay too small
by: Marty - 08/09/2013
Comfort:
I ordered the shoes on August 2, and eagerly received them today (August 9th). I wear a 91/2-10, but heeded the reviews and purchased a 12. I tried them on and "what the heck?!" Very disappointed. I cant have fun in Zumba with my toes kissing the toe box, and not even a smidgen of wiggle room. I opted to return the shoes for an even exchange, instead of reordering and awaiting a check.
When i get the exchanged pair, and have a chance to wear them, I will update my review.

Run VERY small

My daughter wears a size 9.5. I purchased a size 12 after reading other reviews that these shoes run small. The size 12 BARELY fits her. Otherwise, these seem like a good shoe.

Fit like a charm
by: DanceMom14 - 06/27/2013
Comfort:
Just got the package in the mail yesterday. My teenage daughter wears a 9 in women for street shoes. I read the reviews before ordering and they said they run small so to get a size up from what is recommended. I ordered her an 11 and they fit perfectly.

These run small but wide. I am a 6'1" guy who normally wears a 10.5 wide, and the size 15 in this is just about right for me. I can also wear the 14 if I wear thinner socks, but I would go a little larger because I like the cushioning of the thicker socks for dancing.
I like the way these look, and they feel really great -- canvas body, suede upper, very comfortable bottoms with just enough give to be comfortable whether you're dancing or not (I've taken to wearing these normally because the bottoms are durable enough for city wear).
It does not mention it in the description, but you can machine wash these. But don't dry them in a heated dryer because the rubber inside the shoe would come off (not the insole -- the two pieces of rubber that are glued to the inside of the shoe at the bottom). They will also shrink a tiny little bit when you wash them. Not much, just a little. If you're worried about it get one size bigger. Generally just wash them and put them in the sun or something. They'll be dry in a few hours.

They Run Extremely Small

I bought this shoe primarily for Zumba class. I wear a 9 and ordered a 10 which was way too small. Returned them for an 11. They fit perfectly. I've had them for about a year and love them. They are comfortable, provide good support and are much better on the knees and ankles than cross trainers. I plan on wearing them for belly dance class, as well.

Good Shoe for the Price

Purchased this shoe for my son's Hip-Hop Dance class. The "recital" shoe at the studio is 2X as expensive. He's 10 y.o. and wears a size 6.5-7. I ordered a size 10 and they fit fine. No complaints so far.

LOVE THEM--Comfortable, affordable shoes

I just bought these shoes and absolutely love them. I'm wearing them in a Zumba class, and they are perfect for this type of dance-exercise class. I had to buy a much larger size (a size 13); I typically wear a 9.5 wide shoe. Thank you to the reviewer who recommended this shoe for women with wide feet. Also, this company has fantastic customer service and speedy order turnaround. I'm so impressed by the shoes and by Discount Dance Supply!

I received these sneakers upon recommendation of a employee at DDS. They fit perfectly. I had a width problem and these are the answer. I dance 4 to 5X a week with 100% comfort. Other dancers have complimented me on how nice they look. A great buy and price.

Great price & great quality!

My daughter and I are very pleased with this purchase. I am glad we called a customer service rep to assist with the sizing. My daughter is a child's size in street shoes, but in hip hop sneakers and some other dance shoes we must convert her size to a woman's size & then follow the chart. My daughter usually wears a girl's 3 and with the rep's help we ordered a 6 in this sneaker. It fits her with some room for growth. She says the shoes are light and comfy! Thank you for quality at such a good price!

Sansha High Step dance sneakers are really comfy right from the box. The arch is very supportive and there is lots of cushion in the heel. These are a great shoe for the price. Order at least 1 to 1-1/2 sizes larger. I normally wear 6.5 so I got a size 8 and they fit perfect. Thanks Discount Dance!
