The Pointe Shoe 'No Slip' Grip is a solution applied to the box of the pointe shoe to prevent slippage, increase floor grip, and boost a secure, stable and strengthening foundation while working en pointe. This product is also used by dancers of all levels to obtain better friction as well as extending the life of the shoe by incremental cushion controlled by the application. Dancers have complete management over how much or how little Pointe Shoe 'No Slip' Grip solution is used.
My students had to perform on a stage with wooden floors, I was desperate to find a solution. This works much more reliably than rosin if applied according to directions. Make sure to clean any rosin residue off shoes with damp cloth and let dry thoroughly before applying the no slip grip. Use a thin layer on tip (paying special attention to edge) and dry overnight. If you don’t clean off rosin/dust the adhesive will peel. Don’t rush the process and it will work!
This paste is a great idea, but it peels off very easy and just rolls up into a stringy mess. It barely stayed on the tip of my pointes, but nowhere else. I needed some grip on a slippery floor and I should’ve just ordered some spray resin.
We'd love for you to remove any excess product from the shoe. Apply only to the tip of the box. If applied into the pleating or too heavily at the edges, pealing can occur. Use a minimal amount. Applying the product to an exposed box will most likely lead to pealing away of the product. A shoe that has been exposed to rosin may have built up residue. Simply take a lightly dampened cloth and wipe away any potential rosin. More advanced dancers may see wearing away of the product. Please allow the product to dry over night.
