Overall these shorts are cute and comfy, but they run small and they are very short. I ordered several sizes for my dance studio and I couldn't really even see the difference in size between the small child and the intermediate child. I would recommend these because they are not bad for the price however, just be ready to order 1 size up. They also tend to gap in the leg especially for dancers with slim thighs. Also, I am not sure how they fit after washing because they are cotton.
Super comfy, and has room for some growth. My daughter is 9y.o and is quite petite so when I bought the medium I knew it would be hit or miss. They fit like a charm, and the comfortable cotton is a definite plus. Would definitely recommend, and can't wait to purchase more of this product.
Bought these shorts for my 6 year old daughter. Used her measurements and the size chart, and they fit well. The material is medium weight; however, we have them in white, and when she tried them on, she was wearing striped underwear and you could see it through the shorts. I doubt this would be an issue with the colored shorts. They do not feel flimsy at all.
I have purchased these before same short different brand in a size S. We love the short so I orded this brand in what I thought would be a size bigger size I. When I opened them they were the exact same size as the S, I have sent them back and will be getting the M. I hope that the M isn't too big because we really like these shorts.
What are all the differences (and why) between these and the other V-waist Theatrical brand shorts?
by: Duffy (08/28/2013)
Why do the other dance shorts only come in black and red? My daughter loves the black pair we bought her and we'd like to get more but red is such an uncommon color for dance shorts. How and why are these different? Are they less quality? The only visual difference I can see is that these have a seam on the side. Why?
***In the "Products Related to My Question" section below, it does not allow the exact items to be searched for. There is no way to tell if I selected the exact item since it only brings up ONE style of child's v-waist shorts when there are actually several.***
There are a handful of styles that come in black, red, (and sometimes) blue. If you go to the "shorts" option under the "tops/bottoms" tab you will see that the majority of our shorts come in a variety of colors. The difference between the two theatricals v-waist shorts, style #D5104/C and this #N5505/C, is that the first short is made of nylon/spandex and the latter is made of cotton. You can see material types listed under the "features" tab on the item. Also, when you are on an item, if you click to post a question it will go on that exact item. If you have questions on another item please pull up that item and list the questions there. - DDS Customer Service (08/29/2013)
