1.5" Leather Character Shoe

I wear a street shoe size 9.5 I was able to fit into the 9.5 wide shoe, but it's tight. My big toe is right up against the front of the shoe. 10 wide was the best fit for me, even tho I wish it was just a smidge wider. 10.5W was too long, even though I had more width. So that's why I went with 10W. The shoes are very narrow in the front. I could fit into the 10.5M, but it wasn't comfy. If you're going to wear tights or go barefoot, size up a half size and get a wide. If you're going to wear socks, size up a full size and get a wide.

I ordered half a size up as suggested and these are still too short. They also run narrow, but I have a relatively narrow foot. The toe box is low volume. The shoe would not necessarily be too short for me, but my toe hits the top of the toe box. I now have to figure out the return process and decide if I want to try again with a brand I am more familiar with. I also am not sure if these are real leather or not. They are definitely priced more like the PU shoes and the shoe itself does not say.

Runs a bit small and narrow. Reordered a 1 size larger and a wide, fits much better. I never wear a wide shoe.

I bought these shoes for line dancing on carpet indoors, and concrete outdoors. I belong to a Senior performance group, so we practice almost every day. I also intend to wear these shoes for 2-stepping and swing dancing at outdoor festivals. They’re still pretty new, so I can’t really give a proper durability score, but so far, so good.

My husband and I love to dance at home and at street festivals, where we can’t wear ballroom dance shoes. The leather soles are perfect for dancing on the carpet. They should also be durable for dancing on the sidewalk and the street. Since these shoes are new, I haven't tested them outdoors yet, but my hopes are up. Therefore, I cannot rate this brand's durability as of now.

FYI: I found these Character Shoes NOT to run true to size as is indicated in the sizing description! They're definitely too short! I can only hope that a half size larger will work. RETURNS are not free w/DD either (as they were with All About Dance) so, unfortunately, there's no such thing as an "Even Exchange"! Too bad that policy was not carried over w/merge from AAD which would make for loyal customers.

These shoes are exactly what I needed, but they run short for sure. I wear an 11. I need an 11.5. Not returning because I won't be using them for performance. But if you're planning to stand for long periods or dance, absolutely size up. The vamp is good, the inside is cushioned well. It's just short.

I purchased these shoes in both black and caramel in my street size. While they are beautiful and stylish, they seem to run a half size smaller then my regular size. Additionally, they are too stiff for my sensitive feet, so I had to return them. These shoes would probably work well for people who do not have problems with their feet, but I suggest you order a half size up. The return service and refund process were great. I highly recommend Discount Dance.
