I recently received this skirt in silver and I am very pleased so far. The color is as pictured and the cut is very flattering. I got this in a size Small and it fits me just right. The front is a little short, but I don't mind because of how flattering the cut is.
I wear a S or a M in this brands leos. Based off the size charts I ordered a M skirt because it was required for a performance, but it was too small. a lot of us at the studio found this out the hard way. if theres any questions in sizing order up for sure. I ended up with the L in the end. It's a really nice quality skirt over all though! I do recommend it especially if you like your bum to be covered because it's long in the back. washes really well too!
It's cute, but doesn't look amazing on curvier women. I generally wear size Small, but ordered a Medium to be on the safe side for this skirt. Because I have curvier hips, this skirt stretches strangely across my hips, but fits great everywhere else. I would recommend this skirt for somebody whose figure is more straight up-and-down, rather than somebody who has more of an hourglass figure.
this skirt is super cute! It concealed the lower hip and crotch area on me just fine. The waist was TRUE TO SIZE. I ordered the adult M because of my measurements, but when i put the skirt on it was stretched to it's fullest capacity and felt tight on me. I'm returning the item to order up a size for my comfort. Overall, it's a super cute skirt, but order up a size if you want to be comfortable and not have it dig into your waist.
This skirt is absolutely adorable and the material is incredibly soft. The fit on the waist is true to size. However, if you are someone with longer legs, the length of the front of the skirt will be way too shirt. I'm 5'9" and the front of the skirt barely covered what is meant to be covered.
The high-low styling is very stylish and interesting except that the front is WAY too short for an adult/tallish dancer. Maybe this was designed with a child/small tween/teen in mind, but it doesn't scale well even for a slim adult. Just another inch or so would make all the difference!
I'm glad I bought it because it fits much better than the skirts at my local dance shop. I like the hi-low look and it flatters my leg line and hips. I have a short waist, so the skinniest part of my middle is high up and this skirt has a wide waistband which kind of bunches up around the fluffier parts of my midsection. I should have probably gotten black instead of the pale pink to better camouflage this effect, but the pale pink does look super cute with a black leo and pink tights. I really like skirts in this type of fabric because of how they lay so close to the skin and don't flare out.
This skirt is a very flattering cut. I love how it looks when I put it on. However I find myself having to pull the skirt back into place after a combination. The skirt turns around until the side is in the front. This may just happen on the lycra leotards, but since I have very few cotton leos I wouldn't do much good for me. Other than that this skirt is very cute and relatively comfortable.
Fabric was shiny. The skirt had way too much fabric in the rear - it made me look like I a little kid wearing her older sister's skirt! It appeared several sizes too big, as I could have easily gone with a petite. However, I am not sure that even going down a size would have taken care of the fabric problem. It might work for you if you have a triangle build or need more fabric for coverage, if you know what I mean. Hourglass and pear shapes avoid!
So I sent it back, and it has been 3 weeks and I haven't gotten my money back. Would not recommend this site or this product, unless you know for a fact that this style will work and you will not need to make a return! I am considering not ordering again from Discount Dance for this reason.
I ordered this in bright blue. I'm very pleased with the color but not fond of the fabric, which wrinkles very easily. If I wear this skirt with my Mariia Basia leotard it rides up like none other because both fabrics are slick. I wouldn't recommend if it you're tall, either. I'm 5'9 and it barely keeps things covered.
I ordered this skirt in royal blue, and I absolutely love it! The quality of the fabric is great, and the color is so, so beautiful. The cut is very flattering as well. Would recommend!
Can I get the measurements for the centre front length and centre back length? I am tall and the lengths make a difference in whether the skirt is flattering or not.
