This metatarsal protector modern shoe features a stretch nylon spandex upper for a snug fit, a cushioned sole for extra comfort, and individual toe holes. Half sole provides a barefoot look and feel that is ideal for modern, lyrical, and contemporary dancing.
I'm not sure if I got the wrong product, but my friend ordered the same ones and the sole of these are definitely not nylon or mesh as they appear to be.. the rest of the shoe is- but the sole is a very thin suede material that does not last very long.. I really wish I would've returned these before I tried them for a class. There is basically no padding either.. From the picture I expected a cushioned nylon sole. And also definitely order a size up.. unless your feet are the width of a ten year old's or something. I really feel like I got the wrong shoes, because other websites for this product say that the sole is nylon/spandex but for some reason Discount Dance took that line out of their description. Maybe I should've ordered from another store. Pretty disappointing.
Sizing: I am a size 7 in street shoes, and I have somewhat wider feet, and a Medium fit me snugly. If I followed the sizing chart and got a small it'd be too tight. But remember, I do have wider feet.
Color: Caramel matches my skin perfectly! I have tan Asian skin. I wanted modern shoes that were invisible from far away. I hated the elastic straps and different materials on other modern shoes that made it so obvious that you were wearing them.
Fabric: comfortable. breathable. Not sweaty after dancing. Nice and snug up to arches to make my feet look seamless and amazing, unlike other modern shoes that do not go up to the arch. Very thin sole. Barely any cushioning, which is perfect because I want to feel the floor. I hate extra padding because the balls of my feet are already callused. It does not seem to get obviously dirty. Only the soles are visibly dirty, but nylon/spandex fabric is still clean. Toe holes are big and stretchy enough for my big toes; no need to cut the holes bigger like in other modern shoes.
Price: $12 is fabulous compared to dance paws $27.

How does the sizing compare with dancepaws? I have long narrow feet and I wear a street shoe size 7, I normally order a M in Dancepaws though, what would you suggest in this case? do they fit about the same?
According to So Danca, the sizing is as follows:
SA (5-7.5), MA (8-10.5), LA (11-13.5), XLA (14-16) - DDS Customer Service (08/19/2013)
