I have worn Grishko Mayas consistently for almost 5 years now. I have tried other brands and styles along the way, but have always come back to these. My toes have a slight slant, and my feet have a medium arch. These are very flattering and comfortable to dance in. They generally last me up to a month if I rotate a few pairs (dancing 2-5 hours on pointe 6 days a week), of course depending on what I am dancing and if they are broken in the right places. My one complaint is that they are loud when they are new, but this is common in Russian shoes, and the noise goes away as they are broken. Of course my experience with these shoes is unique to me, as every dancer is different. I can only hope you love them as much as I do.

ZipperProblems07/30/2014GOOD FOR MANY DIFFERENT FEET
The maya works really well for a bunch of different feet, almost everyone at my studio wears them.
I wear a size nine shoe and have wide feet and I wear a 6.5 XXXX.
They last a pretty long time, especially if you super glue them before you wear them.

natashia7803/02/2014GREAT SHOES!
I have slightly tapered feet, narrow/medium width and second toes are longer. I wear 4.5 XX (street size 6) with the blue gel padding. These do not have draw strings, so it looks a bit baggy at times, but I find it pretty comfortable to dance in them. I got medium shank, but the box gets softer pretty quick. I used jet glue to harden them, and they lasted for a while. Also, breaking demi pointe is pretty difficult. I couldn't do it just taking class, I had to try pretty hard to break them. I definitely do not have strong feet, but that was the issue with me. Overall, I find Maya very comfortable to dance in and I can balance better than other models I've tried so far. :)

imaballetdancer06/24/2013I LOVE THIS SHOE!
The front portion of my foot is wide and my heel is small, the shoes work so perfectly with them. I also have a high arch. Wearing this shoe makes your feet look so beautiful! Also i suggest if you have a high arch use a hard shank so your shoe last longer!

Brookie01/20/2013BEST PAIR I'VE EVER HAD
Grishko Mayas are the best type of pointe shoe I have ever bought.
I have had Chacott Veronese (which I loved for a beginner), Sansha Recital, Gaynor Minden, Bloch, and these Grishkos and the Grishkos are by far my favorite. They are absolutely perfect. They get five stars for comfort because they are about as comfortable as a pointe shoe can get.
I love the breaking point (right between the arch and the heel) and it is a beautiful shoe en pointe. Also, I have found that with this shoe I do not even need an elastic, I just use ribbon and it stays on my foot just as well.
I would ABSOLUTELY recommend these to any dancer.

DancingPrincess01/04/2013PERFECT FOR TAPERED TOES
I have tapered toes and a compressible metatarsal, making finding shoes that work well difficult. Capezio's Pavlowas were wonderful, but apparently discontinued, and the Nicolinis just aren't the same. Maya is perfect, and actually far more durable.
Since not all ribbons and elastic match all shoes well, I'll share what I use.
For ribbons: http://www.discountdance.com/dancewear/style_BH310LPP.html?&pid=3520&Shop=Style&SID=430345150
For elastic:
http://www.discountdance.com/dancewear/style_GME.html?&pid=1946&Shop=Style&SID=430345150
They match perfectly and last a long time themselves.

Ballerinaree12/26/2012OVERALL GOOD SHOE
I loved my Mayas! I have a low arch, a high instep bone and long-ish toes. I wear a size 8 street shoe and have an average width foot. I got a size 5.5 xxx and they fit like a charm. The only thing I disliked was that the platform got spongy and then they were impossible for me to use.

CharlieM11/22/2012MY FAVORITES BY FAR
I LOVED these shoes SO much and was extremly dissapointed when my shoe fitter informed me that my foot had become to strong for the shoe. She was unable to give me a harder shank fearing my foot would push to far away from the show and hurt my foot. She switched me to Triumphs and I still find myself wanting mmy Mayas back and will even wear my Mayas during a show because my foot feels so comfortable in them.

Passion4Dance04/21/2012MAKES PAIN GO AWAY
I have tried many of Grisko's other pointe shoes, and the mayas are the shoes I stick with. With three hour rehearsals and classes on pointe the mayas make the pain of pointe go away. With the V-shaped vamp it makes it easier to roll through your half pointe. The shoes last a good amount of time depending on how long you dance on pointe and your shank. Great job Grisko!

susan lee06/14/2011 California,MIRACLE SHOE
In my one year of Pointe dancing, I've been through four pairs of shoes; each a different brand. first Capezio Plie II, Bloch Aspirations, Grishko 2007, & now Grishko Mayas. I can easily say that Mayas are my favorite. I have really wide, but small feet. Mayas slimmed down my foot giving me that amazing deep arch look from the side profile. not only are they amazingly comfortable, they don't break as fast as Grishko 2007 do. I love them so much and I sincerely think I have found my IT shoe. Brava Brishko.

Maegan03/11/2010 Philippines,GREAT
I just bought these and I have wide feet. My second toe is longer than my big toe and I don't really have high arches but this fits perfectly. I wore Grishko 2007 (but the problem was after a month you need to buy a new one). In Capezio pavlowa my arch looks great in them but they're for narrow feet people). But maya fits perfectly you should get th medium shank. I'm a size 8 and I got 5.5 width xxxx cuz my feet are wide and they fit like heaven. Promise you should buy this, no REGRETS!! :D

I don't have great feet - low arches, and and my second toe is a little longer than my big toe. I've tried A LOT of different shoes, and I must say these are the absolute best! If fitted properly, they give you that "lifted feeling" yet you can still feel the floor. The platform is great, you really feel centered for balancing and turning. And the V-vamp is BEAUTIFUL yet high enough to support my semi-long toes... and it gives you that Russian look. :) So if you have feet like mine, I definitely recommend you give them a try!

These shoes are my perfect shoe. My first pair was with the medium shank, which I snapped in a month. But after I got a hard shank, they're perfect for me! The make my feet look so pretty and are most definitely the comfiest shoes I've tried.

Anonymous06/02/2007 Usa,I'M IN LOVE.
These pointe shoes are "my shoes". They fit and work with me perfectly. I have wide feet, street size 8 or 8.5, and I wear a 5.5, width of XXX. The best thing for me is that I don't "rock" when standing flat on these, like I do in most other pointe shoes. I usually wear just lambswool for padding, and I don't sink into them at all! However, my ballet school has banned Grishko shoes, so I have had to give them up. Since then, I've tried six different pairs of shoes, and none have been as great. The closest I have come is with Russian Pointes, which can't be bought online, from what I've heard.

Okay this is a follow up to the comment from Amanda:
No, they are not perfect for wide and narrow feet, they are horrible for wide feet! I have wide feet and I was floating in them! My toe wouldn't even touch the box when I was on pointe. Narrow feet only!

Very, very, pretty shoe. Almost bought these, but the thing I didn't like was that the platform was very narrow, and the box was wide, so my feet were floating in them.

This shoe can work for square toes, low profile, low arch feet. It is very flattering but you absolutely must order the next width up than usual for it to fit correctly. It is lightweight and strong and very quiet. Great shoe, just try to be fitted somewhere first, especially for wider feet.

Vee09/12/2006YAY!
I just started to wear Mayas last week and I can already tell you that I love them! I have a hard time with shoes because I have a very, very large arch. I am constantly trying to find a good shoe. I was wearing Grishko Fouettes, and they were very hard and lasting a long time, but they were SOOOOO noisy! When I tried them on... I was surprised. I always thought that my foot broke too low for me to wear a 3/4 shank (which these are). I was really, really wrong! Haha! They really show off your foot if you have a good arch and they are really easy to roll through to get into releve. The best thing about them is that they don't make any noise! These are great shoes!!!

Lambswool4XXX06/13/2006 Vancouver, canada,SO FAR, BEST SHOES HANDSDOWN
I have tried Sanshas, Principals, Blochs, Chacotts, Gambas, Freeds and Capezios, but the Grishko Mayas seem to be the best fit for my tapered longish toes, flattish feet with a tendency towards bunions and pronation (sickling). Not to mention that they are the lightest weight shoe that makes my arch look way better than any other shoe I have tried. I keep getting lots of compliments from my teacher and other dancers. Not recommended for wide feet.
I really LOVE these shoes! I don't really have very high arches, but the Maya makes my feet look beautiful, and the v-vamp also lengthens the look of your foot on pointe. I definitely recommend them if you don't have high arches, because it'll really make you look like you do! Definitely my favorite Grishko shoe!

Great shoes- though the medium shank only lasted me 5 classes before dying. I love the look of the shoes- how it highlights the profile and the arch. Love how comfy they are. But I definitely need the hard shank.

Linda 08/23/2014 San Jose, Ca, Usa Age: 35 to 44 The size of Grishko's Maya
I wear street shoes 7 and the size 5.5 width xxxx of Grishko's Miracle is fit me. Now I wanted to buy Grishko's Maya pointe shoes, so wthat size of Grishko's Maya should I order?
The sizing for the Grishko Maya suggests ordering 3 sizes smaller than your street shoe size, which would put you at a size 4.0. The width should remain the same. - DDS Customer Service (08/25/2014)
I recommend go to a retail store and try a Maya point. it'll be expensive
then online store but that the only find perfect one. - Pitweet (09/24/2015)
I currently wear a 6 1/2 XXX medium shank Grishko 2007, and I've loved it. The only problem is, I might be stuck in the shoe, and not getting my toes all the way down, causing my platforms to die too quickly. I was wondering if anybody knew if the Maya has a similar shape but shorter box/vamp? Thanks so much for any help!
Both the 2007 and the Maya state that the box is slightly tapered. However the 2007 has a medium-height U-shaped vamp, while the Maya has a medium-height V-shaped vamp. - DDS Customer Service (03/13/2014)
i have the grishko maya's in a 5xxx but i need a xxxx should i get a 4.5 or a 4?
I would only recommend going down in size if the length was too long. Please contact Customer Service for assistance with sizing. - DDS Customer Service (10/28/2013)
I thought I should order a 4.5 - 5.0, but then a dancer who reviewed said she wore street shoe size 8 and got 5.5. I got wide feet, and with Bloch Balance European, I would order size 7 with double wide. For Grishko Maya, should it be size 5.5, double wide?
Suggested Fitting:
Women order 3 sizes smaller than street size
This information is shown as a guide only and not a guarantee. Actual fitting may vary. - DDS Customer Service (09/16/2013)
I currently use the Grishko Pro 2007 pointe shoes, is there a sizing difference?
The MAYA is reccommended to size down 3 sizes from street shoe whereas the P2007 it's suggested to order 2.5 sizes down from street shoe. - DDS Customer Service (04/30/2013)
HI i was wondering i have Grishko triumphs in size 4.5 4x i would like to know if these shoes are for wide or skinny feet. And if the sizing is the same
