The Illusion modern shoe by Leo's offers a barefoot feel without compromising a snug and secure fit! Features include a gripper elastic to securely hold the contemporary lyrical half sole onto the foot, a breathable power mesh upper, a contoured suede foot pad for effortless turns, and a 4 hole toe design (4-hole design pairs 4th and pinky toes together).

I use these for modern, lyrical, and contemporary and they work great! I can turn smoothly and my feet don't stick to the floor. These are very comfortable and they don't slide around on my feet. I wear a size 11 shoe so I purchased these in an XL and they fit great! The only downside is is that they only last me around 1.5 months(lyrical shoes usually last me 2 or 2.5 months) but they are worth re-purchasing more often. Overall, I really like these and I would recommend them to any lyrical, modern, contemporary, or jazz dancer.
A little tight but i figure will get better with wear. Comfortable otherwise. The only issue i have with these is the the big toe hole is high which kinda creates a slight bunching up of fabric under the toes between first and second toes. Not a big problem just a little distracting at first but it might go away with wear. Love them and can't wait to try them out.
I purchased this shoe for a modern technique class, hoping that it would reduce friction and help with turns. While this shoe does make turning easier, the right one developed a large tear over the ball of my foot as well as a smaller one near my smallest toe during the first class for which I used the shoe. Since the left shoe is undamaged, I believe this might be a defect in the particular pair I purchased.
Aside from this problem, the shoes are more comfortable and stay on better than other shoes of this type that I have tried. They have four toe holes rather than five (which tends to squish my smallest toe) or two (which never seems to stay on straight).
I love this lyrical half sole! It stays in place, it's comfortable, and it's durable. For comparison: I tried the other brands and found that they either twisted and didn't stay in place, tore after a few uses, or else I spent ages trimming the toe holes so that they didn't cut off circulation to my toes. The Leo's Illusion solved all those problems! I have two pair in rotation and a new one as a backup!
