A new, simple, streamlined canvas split-sole ballet shoe from Leo's Dancewear. "The Company" has flat even toe pleating which creates a comfortable foundation for turns and stability. Stitched down suede outsoles under the metatarsal and heel gives strength and solidity to the bottom of the foot on releve' and standing flat. Double stitching throughout creates a smooth surface to allow the foot to feel and connect to the floor. Pre-sewn, criss-cross elastic permits confidence and grace to the dancer while the cotton binding and elastic drawstring acknowledges an independence to each dancer's style of fit.
I loved these shoes. They looked beautiful on. They moved very nicely. The fit to my feet really well but as all canvas shoes do they wore out after only a few months I would say I got a good 4 months out of them. Dancing in them about 6 hours a week. Which for a canvas shoe is pretty good.
I have used this dance shoe for a couple of years now and I never want to switch to a different one! It is comfortable, high quality, and isn't too expensive. I love the color! It is the perfect light pink and the canvas doesn't wear out too fast. I would recommend getting either your exact size or a half size up for maximum comfort. The only mishap I have had in this shoe was the fact that one of the elastics was sewn on wrong but that was easy to fix and only happened once. Amazing product!
I tried these in the hopes that I wouldn't feel like my shoe was bunching underneath my toes, as promised in the description. (This was a problem with the previous pair of shoes I had.) I also wanted a pair that didn't feel too baggy in various spots (which was an issue with a different previous pair). I am here to order my second pair, because I was satisfied on both counts, and my first order is getting holes in the toes now.
Some additional details...I usually wear either 9.5 or 10 in street shoes (US sizing). The recommended size was same as street shoe. Unfortunately, it only goes up to 9, but I gambled anyway. They were, admittedly, a little tighter than I was comfortable with at first, but I think they stretched slightly once I'd worn them a bit, because I didn't even notice after, oh, the first couple of weeks wearing them.
To get an idea of how much wear I've gotten out of these, I ordered them just over three months ago. In that time, I've had about 6-7 hours a week dance time, not counting varied extra rehearsal times for our upcoming performance - anywhere from an additional 1-4 hours a week so far, over the last 2-ish months, with increased rehearsal time to come (also another reason I'm reordering now...). They got holes started by the big toes maybe a few weeks or a month ago, before I switched which feet I was wearing them on, but now holes are forming on both sides.
