I know Sansha brand very very well. All dance shoe brands have different sizing chart. You have to follow the instructions. Sansha runs small. Always order one and a half size larger and you wont have any problems.
These apparently run very, very, very, extremely small. They seem to be made of good material and look durable, but we wouldn't know because they don't even come remotely close to fitting! I bought the 3.5-4 child size, since my son wears a 3.5 in regular shoes and I know he's coming up to 4 soon. I looked at the elastic on the sides (in the picture on the website) and figured they would stretch if needed. They barely stretch. Then I checked the return policy and there's no way we'll be able to get a replacement pair before we need them. I'll have to go somewhere else, but knowing what I know now, I will likely buy from here again.
This was my first time purchasing dance shoes. The site recommended that I purchase a size to a half od size smaller......horrible suggestion. These shoes run EXTREMELY small and if you have a high end step, forget it. If you're going to purchase, I suggest you purchase 2-3 sizes larger.
Ordered these for my daughter, First year in Jazz so was reaching and bought cheap. Well first off got them in and they are truly canvas and not a soft canvas, Second they are way to big my daughter is in street size shoe 10 so i bought the "F" size which is for 10-11 well they fit like maybe 12's would, Third they do not fit her narrow feet they flop even around ankle. Would not recommend these unless tried on previously now im having to pay more to exchange them. SMH
I purchased these shoes in tan for my 10 yr old daughter but had to return them due to sizing. They seem to run a little snug but she said even though there were too small, they felt comfortable so I am returning them for the next size up. This company ships fairly quick. I was told by the customer service rep that I should order a new pair and return the other for a credit because their turn around time for exchanges takes up to 3 weeks.
How does this shoe compare with the Phantom jazz shoe?
by: Keyese123 (02/08/2015) Age: 17 or under
I've been wanting canvas jazz shoes and I'm not sure if I want to go with the Modernette or the Phantom. (Street size is adult 6 so I think size M in the Modernette shoe would be good..?)
For the Modernette, we would recommend a size M. For the Phantom, we would recommend a size 6.5.

If you're going to purchase these, I suggest 2-3 sizes larger. They run extremely small. - Me123 (09/16/2015)
