We wanted to love this but couldn't. It runs about 1-2 sizes too small. She struggled to get it on and once it was on, it was not flattering at all. It made the lower area of her body look so much bigger than it is. My daughter is 9 years old 51" tall 56 lbs. Skinny and petite. She said it was very tight, which made it hard to get on. And once it was on it was very tight and uncomfortable.
we received this as a gift and the size ordered and received was a child's intermediate. It's difficult to get into but once on is very cute and generally fit with the exception of the waist. My daughter had it on for 15 minutes and ended up with a red mark. Like most dancers, she has a very tiny waist and no extra fat. When I measured the waist on the garment, it has a circumference of 15 inches. Of course, it stretches, but it really pinches too.
