The perfect shoe for clogging or contemporary jazz in full-grain leather upper. Constructed with split-sole design for flexibility and pointe. Features include reinforced top line, box toe, counter support, terry lining, and cushioned in-sole.
I received my shoes last night and I'm very happy with them! The padded insole is very comfortable, and it's removable so it can be washed. I wear a 9.5 street shoe (my feet are narrow), and the 9.5 in this shoe fits great! The laces allow width adjustment, so I would imagine they'd be fine for medium to wide feet, too.
My main purpose for ordering these is not clogging, I'll admit. I love doing ballet and ballet workouts at home (I'm a big fan of Mary Helen Bowers, too). And recently, my company changed office locations and now we have a designated workout room. So, I've been going in there to do some light ballet workouts to get my heart rate up and work on some stretching. These shoes are just perfect! They have durable outsoles and look like nice oxfords that could be worn with just about any kind of work pants, but they also allow me to pointe my toes! I'm thrilled!
Also, they do come with nice black laces - but I wanted to add a ballet touch to them. In the pictures, I replaced the laces with Grishko invisible elastic. I've also ordered Bloch stretch ribbon that I'm going to try. The stretchiness allows them to be slip-ons!
I ordered these shoes for sean nos Irish dancing. I am a beginner dancer and had been using step dance jig shoes or practice sneakers for practice. I wanted to find better shoes for this dance and someone recommended clogging shoes. The DDS website came up as a link for me and I checked it out. Saw these clogging shoes and the price was better than any others I found so I ordered them. I was so happy when they arrived yesterday. They were so comfortable as soon as I put them on. I walked around in them--need no break-in time. Today, I tried practicing in them and was thrilled. Friends asked me where I had gotten the new shoes when I posted how happy I was on Facebook, so I recommended the DDS website. :)
My daughter usually needs a wide width. I read the answer concerning sizing and would go up a half size, but if this doesn't work can the shoes be returned so long as they are in out of the box condition?

It is recommended to order your street shoe size as an adult, but I worry about it not fitting. Dance shoes tend to run smaller. Should I order a bigger size to be on the safe side?
This shoe generally fits the same as street shoe size. If you have a wide foot, go up a half size. Please contact our customer service department at 1-800-328-7107 for further sizing information. - DDS Customer Service (02/25/2015)
