Capezio's "Hoof Master" tap oxford features a soft, durable leather upper and Microfiber lining that is moisture absorbent. Other features include a strong toe box, a full leather stacked heel and leather sole, scored rubber sole patch with TeleTone toe and heel taps, cushioned socklining, non-slip heel counter and Poly Cotton laces. 1" heel
I had the Xtremes and was happy with them for about a year, but after they started throwing screws and taps I bought these. The first time I put them on it was just like, WOW! Like an earlier reviewer said, the heels aren't quite flush with the floor, but I actually find it enables me to make more sounds faster. I've got the loudest, clearest sounding tap shoes in my class, the toe box is strong, but after they're broken in they're flexible to roll through (if that's what you're into.)
So basically, they're the best tap shoes I've ever had!
We originally got the Xtremes for my 9 yr old competitive tapper, and they were HORRIBLE! These are better, but they don't sound as nice as the CG09's. Also, I had to special order these, since her foot is too small to buy the Hoof Masters thru DD....Start carrying these in Child sizes PLEASE!!!! She wears a shoe size 12, and a tap size 13.
I really don't like these shoes. I prefer the old CG09s and wish Capezio would bring them back. The backs of the heels don't sit flush on the floor and have trouble getting heel sound out of the shoes. I've only worn them a couple times . . . went back to my worn out CG09s.
