Classic adjustable strap camisole leotard with a deep V-back is designed especially for the taller dancer. Sizes run approximately one inch longer than regular sizes. The self-fabric shelf bra and moderate cut leg line make this leotard comfortable and easy to wear as well as attractive.
If I had to recommend this I would have to recommend it to someone who is not exactly tall according to general standards, but maybe by ballet dancer standards. Normally I would expect a long torso to fit those over 5 foot 10 inches or over 5 foot 8 with a longer torso than legs. I only hope they will go to those over 6 feet tall. When it fits someone 5 foot 7 inches, who is the target market for regular sizes street clothes, take warning and check the size chart. I did not see that first. My biggest fear is that an XL would be too tight going around, depending on the fabric. For the rest an adjustable strap is usually my salvation. Some are still fine going around, even in a regular size. The maximum of a 66 inch girth I saw on the size guide is what I see as regular for other brands. I need 70 inches or a wardrobe malfunction on a camber is likely. That or a wedgie....or both. Back to Motionwear for me...if they would just please make some adjustable straps and place them so they do not fall off the shoulders so easily.
I am 5'10 and about 160 pounds, and always have trouble finding leotards that fit my long torso. This one is perfect!!!!!! The extra inch is super nice, and isn't too snug or too baggy for me. The straps seem okay, and the fabric isn't one I'd usually get (I prefer spandex to cotton), but it's not too hot if your studio is chilly. (Ours is) Totally recommend it!
I bought one of these almost a year ago. It is the best fitting , best looking leotard for me. I am 5 '7". I have a very ample bust line. The extra length of the tall leo covers cleavage and makes sure you are not popping out while ponche or port de bras. The shelf bra is very supportive. I like the very defined hourglass shape of leotard therefore it has more room were i need it in the bust and no extra gapping material in the waist . Fits me like a glove! Very durable, nothing is wearing out . I wear it at least 4 days a week. I just hand wash and rinse it out every night and let it air dry. So bought 3 more.
I am an adult ballet student; 5'8" and approximately 145 pounds. This Leo is great; finally a Leo that doesn't ride up on my long torso frame! Looks to run slightly small, but not small enough for me to order a size up. I am a street size 6 and the large tall fit just right. Nice shelf lining and the v-back of this Leo is very flattering! Thank you DDS!
It's so hard to find leotards for long-torsoed people online, so when I saw this on DDS I decided to take a chance and order it. It fits perfectly! The fabric was thick and comfortable. I definitely recommend this leotard!
Yay! Finally a leotard that fits my 5'9" 150lbs (I got the Large Tall) frame. I minor miracle, I swear. But finally in this Tall leotard I have found a leo that does not pull at the shoulders or crotch, or slip dangerously low in the cleavage. And the cut is BEAUTIFUL. Very classically elegant: it is cut full in the rear and has a lower legline, but still made my legs look longer and beautiful, not short and stumpy like some lower-cut styles can do. I feel like a true prima ballerina in this style. I just wish it came in more colors in the Tall! Seems like a good material, but only time will tell how well this holds up to wear and tear, hence the 4, not 5 stars.
when I look at the size chart my daughter is small for chest, medium in wist and large to extra large in girth. This one says for tall but I'm confussed. what size should I order?
The most important measurement, that we recommend, is the girth. Going by the girth measurement will make sure that the leotard is most proportionate to your daughter's body. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee sizing and if you are still concerned we would recommend to try 2 sizes and send the size that doesn't end up working back for a refund or an exchange. - DDS Customer Service (05/21/2013)
Thats a tough one. I would probably go with a medium or large. This runs small; so a small would be too small and even if the medium or large was slightly bigger on her she can always grow into it. - Glittz (06/09/2014)
