Lovely Little Helpers
by: DancerCO14 - 05/01/2014
Comfort:
Durability:
I have Egyptian feet (1st toe longest, others file off) and a BIG gap between my 1st and 2nd toes. I don't have natural bunions, but I would with pointe. These approximately 1 and 3/8 inch long spacers are great for my long toes. The gel is very comfortable, but sturdy. I have only used the 1st 2 of the pack of 4 and have been using them for over a year and a half. They clean up very nicely with a little soap and water. I don't use baby powder on mine, and have only gotten one small tear between the tail and middle part. When one of my friends used baby powder, hers shrunk a little, so I didn't try (it might have been a defect). I couldn't do pointe without these.
If you have a gap or bunions, GET THESE! :)

Shoes fit so much better. Much less big
by: DebC - 10/23/2013
Comfort:
I have a big gap between my big toe and 2nd toe. I use spacers for bunion prevention. I used the regular spacers kit from bunheads, but it wasn't keeping my big toe aligned. So, I decided to try these.
My pointes have been feeling a tad too wide in the box, and thus less supportive. With these in, I felt a big improvement in snugness. And usually, the only part that really hurts is the outside corners of my big toes. But somehow, having these in, that part didn't hurt as much, and I've never been so comfortable en pointe. I didn't think this could even happen!!!
The space in my big toe is so big that I think I would even like a spacer that is 1.5 times as wide as these, but I'm very happy with these for now!

Durable and substantial
by: MissE - 10/22/2013
Comfort:
Durability:
I have tried many combinations of products to improve dancing en pointe. These are the most substantial material, and the most durable. They are however, more rigid than the other bunheads products such as "spacemakers". They run a bit large for my feet (s 6 street) and were easy to cut to size. Because they are a firmer material, they do the best job of keeping the big toe aligned (other softer ones are more suited for "padding" protection for toes.) I was able to adjust my other padding and wear them in my usual shoes, with out getting a different size. While I did find these changed how I balance en pointe, the adjustment is worth it for the comfort. Super Spacers have reduced the pressure on the corner of my big toenail. I recommend them to dancers with larger feet, longer toes, and a larger gap between 1st and 2nd toes.

I have the super spacers and the slightly smaller ones. I use a super spacer on one foot, and the smaller one on the other. They have held up well for over a year. I used to wear them in my regular shoes and running shoes sometimes, but I found out that having spacers while running messed with my stride, so be aware of that if you wear them in your street shoes.

Love it

I bought these thinking "hey let's give it a shot. For such a low price, if I don't like them I can always give them to another dancer. "No harm no foul." It turns out that I love these! They help so much, but make sure you wear them to fittings because they make your feet boxier. Therefore, you have more shoes to chose from. Woo Hoo.! Totally buy these if your a dancer en pointe a lot. It will save your feet!

Make sure you need them
by: Dancinqt - 05/12/2007

I needed spacers because my toes were getting squished and hurt, so I got them at the dance store (the closest one, not the best one). These ones were too big and I later found out that they were too big for my toes. They hurt really bad if you don't need them, just FYI.

I thought these worked very nicely with my feet. When I go on pointe, my toes don't hurt at all. Without these, I used to have ugly, painful toes and with these, I have beautiful feet!
