I am a mom that is new to the dancing world and I was told that Discount Dance would be a great supplier and so far it has, until I had the need for items that would appear as nude on my child. If I look at the website, Suntan is the darkest tone available that is not black. Turns out to be the wrong color, I need Mocha. I cannot return what I purchased to Discount Dance, even though she never wore it, because I had to take it out of the package in order to compare it against her skin tone. So for me, it was a waste of money.
I find the top to be a bit flimsy and in addition, the straps are not that sturdy or easy to adjust. I had to replace them with straps from my bra to give her some sort of support; and to keep it on the shoulders somewhat. Also, the top was a bit wide and my daughter is not skinny.
My company costume director ordered everyone this bodytight to wear under our costumes. I am 5'3", 80 lbs and I got the "petite" in black. The legs of the tight are very comfortable, and the foot holes are durable and functional. However, the straps are VERY shiny under stage lights, and they cut into my shoulders. Also, the clip slips out easily, so one of the other girls in the dance had the top fall all the way down by the end of the piece. As I had to wear it, I exchanged the straps for the nude elastic security clip straps that came with the Natalie bodytight (below). Also, even though I crossed the straps and tightened them A LOT, the front of the tight continued to slid down every time. It would be a better use of time and money to buy a different bodytight that has a top that will stay up.
I was pretty pleased with this dance tight. It was my first time wearing a body tight of any kind and it was very comfortable. It's nice not having to worry about your tights rolling up under a costume.
That being said, this was recommended to me by a girl in my dance club in college. I thought the material seemed fairly quality. it came to me with a small run near the toe. It wasn't a problem as the run hasn't grown since. And it fit over my DD's, which is what sold me. The color was a bit light for me even though I ordered the darkest available.
I purchased this for our annual dance showcase, wore the tight to the rehearsals well enough. It allowed movement well. Unfortunately on the day of, I was in a rush putting it on and put a decently visible hole in it. Right on the thigh. I almost cried. But that's my fault - just be careful putting them on. And then one of the straps broke. It held up and I finished showcase with them, but I'll need to order another pair.
Overall- very satisfied with the product.
I ordered this for my daughter after measuring her and trying to match it up with the sizing chart. The sizing chart and the list you have to pick from on the size box don't match so it was hard then to know which one to pick. There definitely needs to be improvement on the sizing charts and matching them with the size drop down box. I have to order a smaller size because this one is to big and I can't return it.
I do love these Body Wrapper body tights for long days of teaching. My only complaint is the strap location has been moved out causing them to no longer stay hidden beneath my camisole and several tank leotards.
I own a pair of these in jazzy tan and they are okay I guess, but they get runs very easily. Also, The top part of it does not stay up easily. It always goes below my chest and I have to pull it up constantly. I tried tightning the straps to keep it up, but that didn't work and the straps would start loosening again after a little bit. Overall its okay, but it's not great.
Sooo comfy! I bought a L/XL and wear a (Size 12)38D in theatrical pink. I crossed the straps in the back - was kind of itchy at first but was such a relief not to yank and tug all night at practice. I forgot I was wearing it. Buy them!!!!! Super AAAAAA+++++
First of all, if you buy this, be aware that the picture is very misleading. The back is way higher than the picture shows. I had to adjust the straps on my costumes so the back would be covered! I tried this on under my costume to see where to sew the straps. Bad idea—strings everywhere! On the upside though, once you get it on, it is very comfortable, and the theatrical pink looks good on pale skin.
I love the new Jazzy Tan color! I used to buy my body tights from Capezio, but the color was never right. It was either way too light or way too orange. The Jazzy Tan is the perfect color! The clear straps are great too! Wonderful for quick changes during shows!
I need a body suit for my Grannddaughter and I am not sure what size. The sizes it show is c, ptp, s/m and large/ex-large , so what size should I order. Her chest is 25, waist 24 and hips 31.
Tight measurements are based on height and weight. Please let me know that information so that I may better assist you. - DDS Customer Service (03/08/2013)
The sizes stand for: C is child medium or large, PTP is basically adult extra small, S/M is adult small medium and L/XL is adult large and extra large. I am chest 28, waist 24 and hip 28, and the PTP was a little large on me. I would suggest the C, but only if she is a normal to petite height, as that is the biggest difference. Also, look at the Natalie bodytight. It has better straps. - Dancerco14 (06/17/2014)
