My daughter and I were really excited about the idea of this kit. Her hair is very red-gold, and both blonde and dark brown bobby pins stand out, particularly because her hair isn’t really thick so there isn’t a lot of space to hide them. On stage it’s hidden but she has to go to school with ballet hair a few days a week to go straight to dance. A few companies make hairnets for redheads but not bobby pins. It turns out, the “caramel” kit is just blonde with darker “caramel” hair nets. The elastics aren’t a close enough color match to look right for a ponytail but are okay if hidden by a bun. Hairnets blend okay so we’ll use them up but a different brand has a better match.
Definitely great for any blonde that isn’t light or platinum (where bobby pins tend to stand out) or even light brown hair but still not the best solution for a redhead - although better than the usual blonde or dark brown products!
She says it was worth it just for the tin. She put a magnet in it and it works better for hair pins than tic-tac containers, etc. She also says the bobby pins hold really tight.
