If you're looking for an athletic pant you can dance, do yoga, or run errands in, this comfortable jazz pant by MJ Soffe is the perfect choice! Features a fold down elastic waistline. Machine washable.
We bought these pants despite having read many reviews about them running very long due to a review where the customer listed her height and weight and indicated that they fit her like a dream. Well, for my daughter of similar dimensions (just a tad too tall for most child larges, not yet regularly into adult sizes) they were certainly not the dream fit we were hoping for. Sized fine in the waist, hips, and thighs but extremely long. Long to the point that we just can't use them. Please also be advised that these have a logo in the back on the waistband, so if you are thinking of them for a recital or competition, please make sure that wouldn't be an issue for you.
These pants feel great and are thick enough to be worn in everyday places, not just dance studios, but even the extra small is a bit too roomy for me. I'm 5' 1" and weigh about 105 lbs. I think that even though the sewing and fabric are sturdy, they might have stretched a bit in a warm wash and low heat drying setting.
I bought these for my daughter for her jazz class. They fit her perfectly to her measurements per the chart. She is 5'3" and 128lbs and a medium was perfect. She is very happy with them and says they are very comfortable. They are nice and flexible for easy movement.
I love these! I'm very petite at about 5'1 and weighing around 90 pounds. I was desperate for some cheap jazz pants, as i lost them just a week before my show. They came in the mail right away and the X-smalls fit me like a dream! I'm definitely buying them again!
The only reason these aren't 5 stars is that they're a bit tight. I'm an advanced ballet dancer now branching out into other dance forms. I ordered them for Dance Survey (modern/jazz), because I didn't see the sense in buying expensive jazz pants if it turned out jazz wasn't for me.
It was the perfect decision. They're not cheapo pants. They're soft and comfy, and my "older dancer" waist (I'm 25) is happy not to have another tight waistband constricting it- tights are bad enough! The only problem I have is that I'm 5'4" and wear a size 10 street pant, and the XL is a bit tight. I usually buy a Large (sometimes medium) in dancewear- so I was surprised that they weren't a little loose. At the same time, at my comparatively short height, I usually have to trim the hems of pants and warm-ups. These were just right after washing and drying. That's another thing- they CAN be put in the dryer! Yaaay! Bottom line- if you're unsure, buy them anyway. They're too good to pass up!
