Antioch,ILMy daughter loves these shorts to dance in and we have purchased several pairs. Each pair has done the same thing... The fabric pulls away at the elastic, leaving them with strings hanging and the elastic exposed. I have noticed it on several others as they leave the studio. We hand wash and hung to dry, and there is not enough fabric that isn't frayed to try and repair. We have gone through 2 pairs in two months. I am looking for a different brand to try, which is what prompted my review.

Logan,UTI listened to the other reviews and sized down. Usually a size medium in most dance wear, got a small and regretted it. I usually wear a size 4 in pants. Durable, and exactly what to expect, just worried I am going to split the seams when in the splits!

04/26/2019I got the idea to get these from my teacher, who never went a class without them. They are fantastic! I love these! I recommend them to anyone! I got a size smaller than usual because of the comments and they fit perfect. They also kept me warm and if your teacher allows you to wear certain types of warm ups like these for the majority of the class, they are great to dance in too!

Pottstown,PAI got these shorts, they are good quality and work very well. They seem to maybe run large. I’m 5’7 and weigh 110 lbs and I got a medium, I should have gotten a small or x small. I told my friend who is shorter then me to get a small.

11/03/2017I absolutely loved my first pair of these shorts, they lasted over 3 years! But unfortunately I lost them so I ordered another pair and they started becoming unsewn after I had only worn them twice. They are unraveling more and more each time I wear them, and I am so upset because they are my favorite warm ups.

10/17/2017I love these shorts! I wouldn't call them worm ups.. More "before class cover-up". I have worn them in class and they'er so great! They fit well! I roll them up because they can be long! But they stay where you put them! I feel great in them. They'er not much for looks... But perfect for in and out of classes!

02/26/2017Absolutely love them. My teacher wears hers all the time which is what made me want them in the first place. I am 5'4" and 110lbs, I ordered a medium so I could still have room to grow into them and they are perfect! They came up past my bellybutton, but I expected that and I just roll them down (my teacher does that with hers, she's shorter than I am but her hips are fuller than mine).

Marianna,FLThese shorts are great for warming up and dancing in! I like to wear them for ballet almost every class. They fit best when you roll the waistband down 2-3 times, which is what I usually do. Very comfortable too! I would definitely recommend this to any dancer.

East Lansing,MII read the review and ordered a size up. I'm 5'7" and 135 lbs. I usually wear a medium but ordered a large this time. It suits ok but I think one size smaller won't harm. The large fits me snugly but I always have the option to wrap the edge to adjust the length. It's a good piece to keep the hip warm to avoid injury.

Pompano Beach,FLI love these so much. They aren't as thick as my other trash-bag shorts but I live in a fairly hot area, so these are great for all year round. I'm 5'5 and 115 pounds and I got a size medium, they are a little long but they are suppose to be that way. I roll the top and bottom about 3-4 times and they look and feel great. The price is a lot better than a regular dance store where they would probably be about 20 dollars. I defiantly recommend these.

08/01/2015the material of this product is fairly cheap, but good for it's pricing. They do look appealing, but the sizing is a bit wacky. I would recommend purchasing a size up from your normal sizing. I am a size small and I purchases so, but wasn't conscious of how the material rolls up when making movement.

01/08/2015Ripstop fabric is excellent when used for warm-up clothing items, and these shorts certainly do the job well. The fit is true to size - I am 5'7" and 130lbs, so I ordered a Large because I prefer them roomy. However, the elastic around the thighs is a bit too tight for my taste. It's not uncomfortable, but it's not flattering. I am undecided if I will keep them, but if I do, I will probably just trim off the elastic and wear the shorts as cutoffs.

01/04/2015I originally bought the pants version in the ripstop series, and I like them a lot. I decided to add shorts to my collection after using the pants a lot, but often taking them off quickly because they just made me TOO warm. These actually end up covering a little more than boyshorts would - you typically roll down the waist to sit on your hips, and when you grande plie or grande battement, the leg holes ride up pretty far. In the end, all these really warm up is your hip sockets. Fine with me, but maybe a capri or midi version should come out next! I am about 5'4" and 90 lbs and have a small in both the pants and shorts. Both fit well.

09/14/2014I have ripstop pants (and am 100% in love), so I thought this would be a good edition to my warmup collection for summer intensives. I usually buy my rip stops in medium so I have a little room in the waist to roll them, but these in a medium DO NOT FIT THE SAME AS THE PANTS. That's my only problem with them.
My medium in the pants are roomy and bloused as they should be, but the medium in the shorts fit like lycra shorts. They're tight in the leg and very restrictive, especially during plies and adagio.
**If you favor the looser fit that ripstop pants offer, buy one size up from what you would buy normally.**

06/23/2014I absolutely adore these shorts! I always wear them to class and in winter I wear the pants! They really keep you warm and they are very cute as well. I started a trend at my studio by wearing and purchasing these! I wear them before, during and after class. I love the material but it does run small. I am 5'5 and 110-115 lbs, not the skinniest. But a small does fit perfect!

03/10/2014I bought these warm up shorts after wanting them for quite some time. I liked the look of these in photos and of other girls wearing them to rehearsals, but when I tried them on I was sadly disappointed. I am 5'6" and 157lbs, so I bought them in XL.(XL ALWAYS fits....sometimes even a size large) They were so tight that I was afraid to do a grand plié in fear of splitting them down the center. Unfortunately I cannot wear these until maybe after losing a good 15lbs! What a waste!

12/26/2013I received these trash bag pants for Christmas and I am extremely happy with them. They are really comfy and do a great job heating you up. I am probably going to get the pants, too! since my waist is very small and I am very skinny, these are SWIMMING on me! It's ok because they are only warm-ups, but consider getting a size smaller than usual. Thanks Body-wrappers.

11/04/2013I wear these shorts RELIGIOUSLY. like,to every single ballet class of the week. They're shinier in person They do run small. I suggest getting a size bigger. These are more of an accessory, not really for warming up. They don't keep your legs warm. Plus they roll back up when I try to roll them down at the waist line. >.< Super annoying. But otherwise, they're great!!!

10/23/2013I'd been eyeing these shorts for a while, and finally got them. It seems like reviews are quite polarized. either people love them or hate them! well, I really like these!
I would be a small according to the size chart ( I have 35" hips), but I went larger based on other reviews), I'd recommend ordering a size up-or even 2!-from the fitting chart to be safe. I'm usually a med in hips for leotards. So, I got a large, and I think it's great! Unlike knit warmers and leotards, there's no stretch to this, so I'd rather get something baggier than tighter. So, with these large shorts, they fit baggy, the way I like them!
I only used them for one class, so can't comment on the durability. I don't think I had a problem with them riding up (I rolled them over 2-3 times). They did warm me up a little, not a whole lot, and I did get a bit sweaty in them (not sure if it's just because the fabric doesn't breathe, or if I'm actually sweating more than usual. But I like how I can just leave the studio with these on (unlike tighter knit shorts, I feel it's too revealing for me if I were to, say, go to the supermarket later.
They weren't noisy at all. Really enjoyed using them! They were "soft" in their own scrunchy way. I'm contemplating whether I should get the pants version or not! =)

10/18/2013People also call these "trashbag shorts" because they are not very pretty...! But it does the job. I also have to fold the waist area once or twice because it's a bit too long (I am 5'4" and ordered a small), but i don't really wear these for looks. There are thicker ones, but I didn't want something that's too warm, and these are just perfect for me. I highly recommend it :)

05/12/2013After reading the reviews, thought that I should get a medium. Then I tried on a size small of my friend's, and they fit perfectly, so I went ahead and got a small. For reference, I am 5' and 97 lbs., generally I'm a 0 or 00 in pants. I absolutely love these! I wear them every day in class, and sometimes I even wear them when I'm stretching at home. Definitely get them, but figure out the sizing first. Try on a friend's or try them on at a dance store. As far as durability goes, I've only had mine for a month or two and there's a little bit of threading at the bottom, but they're holding up pretty well. Overall great product!

03/17/2013a couple of people at my studio wore these all the time, so i thought i would try them out. i LOVEE theese! they are so cute and comfortable. They don't really help with warming up your legs or hips, though. They just act as shorts. The elastic on the bottom of the legs is not to tight, not to loose. you never have to adjust them, they don't slide around! These are amazing <3

02/03/2013This is a great leotard for a lunch break at dance or whenever you want to keep warm. It's good for warming up, but you won't break a sweat just wearing them. If you're really working in them, they can help you keep that heat. Safe, and stylish! I love wearing mine under longer warmups - it doesn't look that weird. I have small hips so I do roll them and bunch them a bit, but it looks really good that way. Great price and awesome to add to a bag!

01/06/2013I love these shorts so much, but I have to admit that they are pretty ugly! When I first saw these shorts on someone I swear I thought they were a cut up trash bag! I showed my friends and they ALL agreed with me. Even though these shorts are EXTREMELY UGLY, I still love them!!!! They warm up my butt before I even finish plies! I would definitely recommend these shorts to every dancer BECAUSE THEY WORK!!!!!!!!

12/26/2012The shorts are very stylish and comfortable, but they do run small. I'm normally a small with most dance shorts but i am a large in these; i had to exchange them for a bigger size twice. I am 5'2 and 126 pounds. I have a pear figure so i have big hips and these shorts kept sliding up on me in class and i would have to keep pulling them down which was very annoying, so make sure you think through the sizing thoroughly before ordering so you don't have to exchange them. I would suggest getting a bigger size than you would think you would normally be.

10/28/2012Yes, I have a couple of these shorts, like everybody else. I see that many students and pro dancers like to wear these. I see that it's cute in a way. But, I don't dig it. They don't really warm your hip up. They are not like sauna shorts. They are very thin. They are not that comfortable either. It has no elasticity and runs small. I have so many cute wrap skirts and pull on skirts. Why would I wear these? Yes, I get it, but no, I don't. What is it about these shorts? Why everybody wear these?

08/18/2012I got these to keep my hips warmed up to help with my turnout, but now I'm wearing them to the gym during my cardio workouts! I love knowing that my butt will sweat sweat sweat, and am hoping that I notice a difference in puffiness around my butt/hips. Who cares if it's water weight that I lose, it's still losing! I loved how these looked in class with my legwarmers. The only thing, is once we were doing the splits and stretching on the floor, I was worried they'd rip if I didn't make sure to give it some slack by bunching up the legs! I'll probably keep wearing these and will consider the full length for the winter time :)

05/19/2012I thought these shorts were supposed to warm you up, but they don't help you feel warm during class or rehearsals. They sort of just stay there like ordinary shorts that happen to look oversized on you.
I do feel like I should have gotten the vinyl Slim-Ez shorts because they do a heck of a lot better job at warming you up. It's an entire universe of difference. The positive thing about the Rip Stop Short is that they do not rip as fast as the vinyl. Or rather, they don't rip at all. While the Slim-Ez is very prone to ripping. (Still repairable with taping)
Of course, my preference is obviously based on the product's ability to warm you up. If you want something more comfortable, durable, and "cute", then get the Rip Stop Shorts. If you want the product's functionality to warm you up and make you sweat more, and if you don't care so much about what it looks like on you (you'll get used to it), then get the Slim-Ez. Actually, in my opinion, the Slim-Ez, which is bigger and more roomy, makes your legs look thinner when you're wearing it and after (because of all the water weight lost)

12/26/2009Well I liked these at first, they were nice. But I am a very muscular person, and a large barley fit over my legs and butt. So I guess if you are one of those dancers who is uber thin, they work, but if you are very muscular like I am, I would not recommend them. Also because my legs are so muscular they were very tight on my legs, and not in the way that I like them to be.
