Danskin's super soft, microfiber, footed tights feature a mid-rise, a dyed-to-match coolmax gusset, and a beautiful matte finish that drys quickly and offers the stretch and recovery of spandex. Perfect for keeping cool during dance class or performances.
I got the Ballet Pink colour, and initially I was a bit put off by the much more pinker tone compared the Capezios I also wear but actually once worn, the pink softens and I actually like it more than the milky white look of the Capezios (actually matches my Bloch slippers better too!). More importantly though is how soft to the touch it is compared to the Capezios after a couple of washes. I put my tights in a mesh garment bag and put them in the cold water cycle and air dry - sometimes the Capezios dry a little stiff (maybe have less stretch), but the Danskin remains soft and stretchy. Very enjoyable to wear!
When I ordered this, I got the tights in two different packages. One, in a trilingual (English/French/Spanish) box, fits great. The other, in a bilingual (English/French) box fits rather loosely. Might want to quality check each pair. Otherwise, the size D is great for guys who are into tights.
These are not soft, much less ultra anything. the waistband slouches down and is oversized and very thin. They feel like a slightly opaque panty hose more than any kind of tights. Snags and runs easily.
...I don't buy these tights for dancing. I buy the 725 (or 702, if 725 is out) for that. I buy these in the light toast color to wear as nylons, and have worn the black when I wanted the look of black nylons (they will be fairly opaque though).
These tights are very song and comfortable. I have a latex sensitivity and most other tights have some content that includes latex (a lot of rubbers and stuff in some spandex formulas include latex). Dankin's ultrasoft microfiber absolutely does not., nor does the regular microfiber.
These tights don't snag easily. Conventional nylons drive me up the wall with how looking at then wrong will result in pulls and snags and can only be relied on to be good for one wearing, if they don't snag on the way out of the packaging.
I highly recommend 72, 702, and 725. And as a bonus rec, I also recommend these in place of nylons!
I do like these tights. They are very comfortable and breathable. I have to warn you though the ballet pink is a very bright pink. If you want a whiter pink go for theatrical pink. My only issues are that the waistband slides around a lot, and some stains and dirt do not wash out so easily. Overall, I love these tights :)
I coach a dance team and read the reviews on these tights before I purchased them, so that we would have a good tight that would last a long part of the season hopefully. The girls loved them at first, said they were very comfortable and seemed durable. After competing in the tights twice at least three girls got rips in the toes and one on the knee. Needless to say, we will not be using these tights again.
They're soft and sturdy and overall a quality tight. The waist band is too high though. And a word about the ballet pink tights--they're the pinkest ballet pink I've ever seen. I could almost swear they're theatrical pink, if it didn't say ballet pink on the package. I'm still really glad I have these tights.
I do not see sizing information. My daughter is 5'9", 135 pounds
There is a size chart listed below the picture in "alternate views" Based on your daughter's height and weight, she would wear a size C. - DDS Customer Service (12/10/2013)
