I got these in black for my birthday- they are everything I wanted them to be- comfortable, perfect length, and swishy! It should be noted that they are NOT warm, but I did not expect them to be. Since I got them recently, I cannot rate them on durability yet... Overall, though, awesome!

    VERY COMFORTABLE PANTS.

I really like to wear these pants for class as they are very warm and comfortable. I am 5ft 3 inches, 110 pounds and a small was the perfect size. I have very long legs and this size fit well. The teal color was very pretty. I really like these warm ups and they are a great price.

These trash bag pants are very nice! they are extremely comfortable and look great on everyone! my only drawback is that the waistband needs to be folded down and it rolls up very easily. I also know a few people who have had the problem of their pants ripping up on the inner seam. other than that i definitely recommend these pants!

These pants fit true to size for me (5'8" 135 lbs, ordered medium). The waistband is higher than I would like, about at my natural waist, but it isn't much of a problem, just a style thing. The pants are very comfortable. I wear them a lot to and from the studio, and sometimes I even wear them to bed in lieu of pajama pants. I've had them for several months, hand-washing them, and they haven't ripped yet! The reason they only got four stars, is most of the other reviewers are raving about how the pants warmed them up, kept them really warm, etc. I haven't found that at all, and it's not for lack of trying. They simply aren't warm pants. Much better to wear a pair of leg warmers or something if that's what you're trying to do. They could be a defective pair, as another reviewer suggested, but I don't really think so. All in all, I don't wear them to keep warm, but they are awesome if you're looking for something to pop on over your tights. Or wear in the summer when it's hot--they're very light.

I bought them two size up (M vs. XS) because I am tall, 5'8", 113 lbs. M size is wide, but it's not an issue. Height is about right, a little short but not too critical.

Fit- I accidentally ordered a Small, but I'm so glad I did. I'm 5'4.5" tall, waist 27.5", hips (at the widest part around my butt and tops of my thighs) 40". The Small is just long enough if I weren't wearing them rolled down (which I do), so I just let them sit a little lower on my hips to get an extra inch out of the length. Overall they fit just baggy enough that they aren't pulling anywhere, but not so baggy that they're overwhelming. The cuff at the bottom is just a little snug going over my calves when I pull it up into capri-style (but my calves are huge, so...). Color- I order the purple color and I positively LOVE it. It beautifully goes with my new Baltogs leo and I've gotten a number of compliments on them. Function- These do not breathe (but they're not supposed to). I love to wear these prior to my classes and through the first 15min of class on chilly mornings to protect my muscles. I also wear these prior to performances, in between dances, and during intermission to keep my muscles warmed up. They are completely invaluable to me for that purpose. In my most recent performance, myself and a fellow dancer performed in the first scene of Cinderella, and then our next dance wasn't until the second act. My fellow dancer complained of getting cramps on stage during that second act, whereas my muscles were nicely warmed up and I had no issues with cramping at all. I absolutely love these and I will definitely spring for a second pair in another color when the weather gets colder.

I'm 15 years old, 5' 5" and anywhere between 108-110 pounds (it's been forever since I weighed myself)and wear a small in these. Anyway, these ripstop, or as many refer to them as "trash bag", pants are amazing! Very true to size, but not too tight, the perfect amount of looseness you'd want in a warmup. I warmup 30 minutes before class, and these keep my muscles so warm I work up a good sweat so I can stretch. A must have for any and every dancer!!

    LOVE THE LOOK

I always feel like a professional ballerina in these pants because they give you that, "I know I'm wearing baggy clothes, but you know my lines are flawless under these so who cares?" look. My favorite thing about them is throwing them on after class to stretch. They help me stay warm and cute while I'm stretching. If you feel weird about wearing baggy clothes all class, like I do, just put some Gaynor Minden sweater tights on under, wear these for warm up and then take them off. You'll still have something on to be warm, but you won't have the bagginess of the garbage bag pants.

    LARGE, BUT GREAT

These trashbag pants are fantastic for dancers who dance a lot and have to jump right into rehearsal. They serve their warm-up purpose well. They do run rather large but that depends on whether you like it baggier. I would recommend getting these in black, but the other colors are nice. The shorts are even better.

FASHIONABLE, BUT NOT ALL THAT FUNCTIONAL

I recently ordered these in black, size medium (I am 5'7.5 and 110 pounds, for reference, and medium fit just perfectly [small would have been too short and tight, whilst the large would have probably been too baggy and long]. I do not understand, everyone is claiming that these ripstop pants are supposed to make your muscles warm up (literally) faster, that they helped so-and-so achieve the middle splits because they helped their normally tight hamstrings warm up, etc. Prior to my purchase of these pants, I wore normal yoga pants to warm up before class and in rehearsals. They worked pretty well. I tried on my friend's ripstop pants (these were the "slim ez/sweat off shorts, ive included a picture/review below), and they worked to make my legs heat up and sweat magically. I even had to take those off because sweat was pouring off of my legs! But then I got these, wore them to company class prior to a Nutcracker run, and nothing happened. Don't get me wrong, they look great and I got compliments on them, but my legs didn't magically warm up all that quickly, as people claim they should. I honestly felt that my normal yoga pants were actually MORE effective in keeping my legs warm in between performances and rehearsals, than these Body Wrappers ripstop pants were. Was the pair I received faulty, perhaps defective? I really do not know, but I can say that I feel as if these pants are overhyped, albeit stylish and very a la mode.

    AMAZING!!!!!

These are the best pants ever! They are great for cold mornings when it's harder to warm up. I usually wear them around the house before class. I also have tendonitis in both my hips, so these pants help it to not affect me as much. Usually I can't do my middle split, and it hurts to do grand battlements, tilts, extensions, etc. Well, I wore them one morning to class, and I could do my middle split, tilts were much less painful, and I stayed warm the entire time. So if you are considering buying these, do! You won't regret it. I'm 5'2 and a small fit great. I'm probably gonna buy a pair in all the colors.

    SO COMFY AND WARM...

I wear these throughout my entire class, sometimes even with my Gaynor Minden wool tights underneath. They are very comfortable and well-made. The comments, however, about the sizing and how everyone says they are "sooo huge..." I don't get that. I am a size 0-2, 125lbs, hardly no hips (hips and waist almost the same), 5'3" tall and the medium fit me perfectly. There is absolutely no way I would have wanted a size small. If the pants are ripping at the seams, probably someone ordered the wrong size. Parachute material is not a "fabric" and thus will react differently to serger seaming than traditional woven fabric. The medium fits great, allows lots of room for developpes, splits, and stretching. I would even wear these to go running. And, I could probably even get away with wearing a size large. They are not incredibly oversized how I imagined they would be (from everyone else's comments.)

N WORDS FOR HOW GREAT THESE ARE!

These are essential for every ballet dancer! They are the warmest warm up pants and are great at trapping heat. The rip-stop pants and overalls are kind of a fad right now, but for good reason. The pants fit great with the waistband rolled up a tad (I wear them at the waist) and you can pull them up as capris too if the fabric bothers you during petit allegro. Remember to save these by not putting them in the dryer! My best buy from Discount Dance!

    N REGRETS

After everyone in my level got one, I decided it was time to get a pair. They are very flattering, but most importantly they help you see your ballet lines. You can see your torso and your ankles which help clarify how long and to what quality your lines are. They keep you warm in no time, and are very comfortable. My only complaint would be that the tag sticks out, just remember to cut it. Overall, one of the best purchases made at DDS.

    GREAT, BUT HUGE

I own a pair of trash bag shorts, size M & they're fine, I love these. they keep you warm and easy to move in. I understand that these should be baggy, but at 5 ft and 90 lbs, a small is way too big. the length is fine, but there is just so much extra space... i would definitely suggest buying an extra small so that you don't have mini parachutes for pants. otherwise, I love these, and despite the bigness, would definitely wear them all the time.

    I WISH IT WORKED

Almost everyone in my level has these pants, they seem to look good on them, but when I tried them they were just too baggy. I like things baggy most of the time, but they just made my thighs look really big. Also, they are a bit long, I can pull them over my heel. I want to like these and I was really looking forward to getting them, but they just don't look very good on me. They do keep you warm, so that's good.

    GREAT WARMUP STAPLE

I got these pants about a year ago, and have used them fairly frequently through this past year's summer intensive and classes. They're true to their name and haven't ripped. The only problem I've had with them is spilling hairspray on them, washing them, and having the hairspray stain still on the pants. Not too big of a deal, but just be warned that stains might not come off. The pants are definitely warm! I roll the waist down which rarely stays put, but that's also not a big deal. You should try these pants if you're looking for trash bag pants!

THE NEXT THING YOU NEED TO BUY!

I just wore these for jazz class today for the first time. I've always heard great things about these pants when wearing them for warmups. WHAT a difference! You need to invest in these if you're a dancer, because they'll warm you up so much more. They're also really comfy to wear. I'm 5'2", 105 pounds and I got a small. These are wonderful; they keep your muscles warm during breaks and make warming up more efficient and, well, warmer. In essence, they are... Warm. They are also stylish, comfy, functional, and economical. For sizing reference, I am 5'1" and 80 lbs and they were a little too long (I had to roll them up several times), but that's ok. LOVE THESE WARM UPS!

I got these from my friend as a birthday present and I love them! They are great to warm up in and to wear to auditions/performances, etc. They are thin/light yet keep you warm and are pretty good quality. The only thing is that they are a little big. PERFECT WARM UP PANTS

These pants are absolutely perfect for warming up and dancing in. I have ballet 5 days a week and I wear them every time I travel too and from class and in between classes. I was amazed when rehearsing in them how much they kept me warm and my overall performance was greatly improved. They are easy to stretch in although they are a too loose for my liking but its ok. I'm 5'2" and I ordered a small and they fit perfectly. I will be wearing these for a long time. They are very easy to move in unlike some pants and I often roll them up to my knees when doing pointe work. They are easy to put on and take off and they don't have that annoying rustling noise when your legs brush together. I would definitely recommend these to any ballerina. They are well worth the cost.

    PERFECT PANTS!

As we call them at my studio, trash bag pants are really popular (and kind of fashionable, actually). They are great for keeping your muscles warm before or between rehearsals/classes. They look really nice, and if I fold it them the right way, they don't ride up or slide on my waist. My only copmlaint though, is that they were shorter than I expected. I'm always an extra small, but I wanted them baggy, so I got a small. They weren't like in the picture--they ended above my ankles. But I don't mind, I usually fold them so they stop at my knees. They're really easy to move in and they don't make the annoying sound. I recommend these!

    OVERALL POOR QUALITY

I just used them for the first time yesterday. First of all, it was not comfortable at all that I had to change into my other pair of pants before the center work. I am hardly a picky person when it comes to clothing, so I had to write this review to help some of the potential buyers.

    FUNNY PANTS

I ride the bus to class so I needed quick pull over pants to save time changing. These were that stiff swishy material, not soft. They weren't very noisy, but they are the shiny kind. I bought them based on the good reviews and I was disappointed. People said they run long or large, and I'm only 5"1 and petite so I ordered an extra small. They fit me exact so the roll down waist feature was useless for me. They also left the waist marks on my tummy. They weren't even long enough to push into boots all the way! If you get these, order your normal size. If you like them baggy order a size bigger.

    I LOVE THESE!

I have a tried lot of warm-ups, but these are by far my favorite! They don't make that annoying swishy sound during grand battements, which is nice. They are easy to keep clean and they look good on almost anyone. However, there are two things that aren't so great about them. The first is that they are too big. I'm 5'1", 90 lbs., and an X-small is still a little too big than what I would prefer. If you want to order these, I'd recommend ordering at least one size down. The second drawback is that a lot of studios #like mine# have a dress code that doesn't allow for baggy pants like these. So I can only wear these in open classes, stretch classes, and rehearsals. My studio allows me to wear the shorts version of these, which I also like a lot. So, if you find you can't wear these, go for the shorts. Overall though, these are a great product and I'd recommend them.

    COMFORTABLE AND CUTE!

I got these pants and I LOVE them! They are soooo comfortable and they keep me warm after or between classes. The only problem is when you fold them down, the get wrinkled.

    LOVE THEM!

I wear these pants whenever it's cold out. they are great they keep my legs nice and warm. The only issue is that the elastic around the waist slides around and it doesn't always stay rolled down. Over all though its a good product!

When I received these in the mail I almost mailed them back for a size small because they are extremely long waisted. I am 5'4 and 125. To avail this just roll over the waist ( obviously;) Otherwise they're a great buy and great for a warmup! I also might have gotten the shorts instead of the pants because they're soooo baggy!

Got these for my 10-year old son. Such a nice alternative to tights for ballet and other dance rehearsals and classes. He loves them! They are really long for him, but he just rolls up the waste and the legs and they look even cooler.

    SO COMFY

I bought a pair of these pants and they are so comfy! Only downside is that the elastic band by ur ankles and the material around is made poorly and got many runs. These pants do not last long.

LOVE THESE, ONLY ONE LITTLE THING

I once borrowed these pants from a friend, and I love them. The material is so light, but still keeps you warm, and it does not hold in sweat like other warm-up pants. I love the fact that they can be worn down or pulled up, and don't leave "fuzzies" like my other sweats. The only thing that bothers me is that when they are rolled down, they unroll a bit in the back, but that might just be because my rear is a bit larger than most dancers'.

    AMAZING!

I love these pants! I am a small, but I had gotten the medium because I wanted it to fit loosely, but my mistake! They were huge! But oh well, I kept them. Everyone at my studio rolls the bottoms up to our knees so they are more like capris, and they look so much better that way!

Got the wrong size but already cut the tag off how can I make these smaller?

this product is designed to be rolled to accommodate a variety in sizes and lengths. If you feel the need, please consider rolling the waistband or the elastic at the ankles to give a more custom fit.
    - DDS Customer Service (08/03/2015)

It depends where they are too large, if it is in the waist you can try to just take it in a little, same with the elastic on the legs. Im not sure how you could make the overall short smaller though... sorry - Elladancer (08/15/2015)

    What size?

I'm 5'2, about 125 lb. What size should I get? I have pretty short legs, and my waist is about 28 inches, give or take. My hips are around 32 I think.

The sizing recommendation for this item can be found by clicking the sizing tab next to the item's description. The manufacturer suggests a size M should fit a waist of 24"-28" and a L should fit a waist of 26"-30." Please note, sizing cannot be guaranteed.
    - DDS Customer Service (10/07/2014)

I'm 5'5 and 100lbs and I own two pair- one small and one medium. There really isn't a drastic change in size! I kind of prefer wearing the medium because they're a bit baggier and I like the fit of my warm ups to be big. I'd go with a medium! - Bunheadem (10/24/2014)

My waist is 25.5, and the small fits me perfectly. It's elastic around the waist, so it's stretchy! - Ontheline (10/24/2014)

I would buy a small in these pants. I'm about 5'4" and 90 pounds, and have a small with plenty of room. You may want to go up a size if you think you'd like a looser waistband, though. - Thephantomizzy (12/28/2014)

I would say go with a small. I'm only 5 ft and i also have short legs, and i can roll up the pants without creating a big bunch around my waist. - Jlee (04/08/2015)

    6'2 wondering what size

im a guy and about 6'2 and pretty slim. im interested in these but what size? would XL be too large, as in even if i rolled them up i would be completely gone in them (im a slim guy). or would L be too small? thanks for the help :)

It will depend on your measurements. If you click the "sizing" tab below the "add to cart" button it will give measurements.
    - DDS Customer Service (08/20/2014)

I am 5'3", 125 lbs, a true size 0-2, and very slim in the hip area (as in, I have none and my hips are barely wider than my waist.) I ordered the medium and they are perfect; I would never have wanted a small. And actually, if I had to I could easily get away with wearing a large. So personally I recommend an XL. - Phartsmeller (09/26/2015)

    What size should I order?

I am 5'3 and 95 pounds, not sure whether to order a small or x-small. Do the pants run larger and longer or smaller and shorter?

Body Wrapper items tend to run slender but long. I would double check your inseam before ordering. Though we cannot guarantee sizing, typical size ranges are: XS = 2-3 , S = 4-6 , M = 8-10, L = 10-12, XL = 12-14.
    - DDS Customer Service (05/13/2013)

They run very large and you should definitely order an X-Small. I roll mine up to just below my knee, but length wise the X-Small just hits my ankle (I'm 5'1", 90lbs.). I understand if you want the small for length, but they are going to be VERY baggy. - Tinydancer500 (07/14/2013)

I'm 5"1 100lbs and xsmall was way too small. I say order a small if you want them to go just below your ankles. - Sjsudancer (09/11/2013)

I'm 5'2" and I ordered a small and the length was perfect. I would go with the small although they might be a bit baggy on you. :) - Alikaballet (01/19/2014)

I don't think they supply XS anymore, so a small. I have the same measurements as you, and a small fits me fine, it just might be a bit baggy. - Ballet4life (01/22/2014)

Get small. I'm the same weight and just a little taller and they're perfect. - Emms1546 (05/05/2014)

Between the slim-ez sweat off shorts and the rip stop pants, which are better?

I am really torn between these two products and am wondering which are better to warm to you up, life span wise, etc. I hear the slim-ez shorts make you sweat A LOT, but do the rip stop pants make you sweat too?

I've worn the Slim-ez shorts, the Rip-Stop pants and the Rip-Stop shorts. The Slim-ez shorts are the winner if you want to sweat, but they are literally enormous and they make this annoying swishy sound. I wore them once and my tights were completely soaked with sweat. The Rip-Stop pants warm you up, but they only make my legs sweat when I wear them in a really hard class. - Tinydancer500 (07/14/2013)

Slim-ez make you sweat way more than ripstop pants. I have both and I love both! the problem with slim-ez is that it takes longer for you to reach that sweating point than rip-stop because they are so thick. Also, Rip-stop pants don't stain tights. - Ghouse5678 (03/10/2014)

RIPSTOP PANTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have both but I always wear the ripstop pants! - Clarebear (11/02/2014)

    Are they like sweat pants?

Do they warm you up better than sweatpants? Could I wear them to hip hop? They seem kinda weird.

These pants are very comfortable and easy to move in and can be used for warming up.. they are less bulky than regular sweat pants and light weight.
    - DDS Customer Service (01/03/2013)

If you want, yeah. They feel like a trash bag though, so I would stick with sweatpants. - Doglover1 (05/04/2013)

I wouldn't wear these to hip-hop. They are mainly a ballet trend and I'd recommend harem pants or sweatpants for hip-hop. They warm you up about the same amount as sweatpants. You may consider sweatpants more comfortable, as these have kind of a plastic feeling to them and are kind of thin. - Tinydancer500 (07/14/2013)

They're basically like trash bag material. I wouldn't necessarily say they warm you up better than sweatpants, because sweatpants are thicker. But these are light and easier to move in, and it also really depends on in what way you warm up. You could absolutely wear them to hip hop. These pants are baggy and with a pair of awesome sneakers and a loose fitting top you'll look awesome! - Ontheline (10/24/2014)
