My street shoe is an 8 W, I ordered an 8 and it came in men's sizing. Take 2 off your show size if you want it to fit

I assumed these shoes would've held up a bit better being Capezio, but I started having trouble with them not two months into my tap class. The screws were always loose and the heels were always wobbly. It got to the point that the screws wouldn't even stay in the shoe because the soles were so bad. Unless you plan on using this shoe once a week or for a high school production of 42nd Street, I wouldn't get these.

UNDERWHELMING
I only need these shoes because I’m required to take a tap class, im not doing any competitive groups or anything. But im not very satisfied with these. The sizing chart recommended I got a shoe 1.5 sizes smaller than street shoe. I just recieved these and they’re huge. are they going to last? yes. I do recommend maybe ordering even 2 sizes smaller than street. Also when I opened the package, the actual Capezio box was in such horrible condition. ripped off pieces of the box had been all over the packaging bag and the shoe box were being held together by a rubber band. Overall, I’m slightly disappointed.

SIZING CHART IS STILL WRONG
The shoes run very large. I typically wear a women's size 9-ish street shoe, so as per the sizing recommendation I ordered a 7.5. They were too big for me, and for my sister who wears 9.5 or 10. I returned them and got a 6.5, which fits great. (interestingly that's my pointe shoe size, so if you do both that might be a good starting point for sizing)
The thin outer leather was worn off in a couple places on the right heel out of the box. The damage was minor, but it peels easily so I imagine they will wear out quickly. As for usability I can't say since I haven't done tap since I was 7. They are comfortable, although there isn't much in the way of arch support.
The sizing issue and durability concerns are unfortunate, but given how much less expensive these are than any of the other trusted dance supply brands, I'm not unsatisfied.

SIZING IS OFF
I was so excited to get my new pair of tap shoes but got disappointed cause they run so large. I usually wear a street size 7 and the shoes are like a size and a half or two sizes bigger.
Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. We apologize for any inconvenience. Please note that suggested fitting for this shoe is : men order same as street, women order 1.5 sizes smaller.

SIZING RECOMMENDATION IS STILL OFF
We ordered a size 6.5 for a girl's wide foot that typically takes a size 8 street shoe. They fit for the entire dance year, though it was too snug at the recital to fit a pair of thin socks. Reordering now, in one size larger, hoping they will fit the entire year again.

OKAY, BUT
So I got these for myself, and I discovered that this is men’s size. My foot is normally a little wide but I got a normal and it fit nicely, but lengthwise it was a little small. I recommend to go a half size bigger than what they recommend, and do a size M unless you are a man with huge feet... hope this helped

TRUE TO SIZE
I can't speak to durability yet, but these fit my son perfectly and were a great alternative to the more expensive shoes for a beginner. I ordered his regular shoe size and it fits perfectly. 8.5 mens in street shoes equates to 8.5 mens in this shoe.

NICE BUT RUNS LARGE!
I ordered about a dozen pair of these for our upcoming musical production of Mary Poppins and luckily I was able to swap around and size down then then return and exchange for most because they all ran at least a size larger than street size for men.

I was so excited when these arrived at my door only o be disappointed that they were too big. I normally wear a 9.5 or 10, depending on what it is. I read the other review to order down, which is what I did but only by a little. Definitely order down but other than that the shoes sound nice and look very sturdy.

If you are a woman ordering this shoe, the size guideline is off. I ordered a size 7W for a student who wears a size 8 and has a very wide foot, however the 7W was way too big and instead fit another student of mine who wears a size 10. This is men's sizing and although I did not order for a man this time, I think, based on my experience as a long time dance teacher ordering dance shoes that they would be a a size too big even on men. Unfortunately, they do not carry them smaller than size 6, at least at this time.

Taylor Rose 08/07/2023 Ludington-mi Age: 15 to 18 Are these shoes split sole?
These shoes are a full sole. - DDS Customer Service (08/16/2023)
DancingMama26 10/22/2022 Lehi-ut Age: 40 to 49 If I wear a women’s 7 Wide, what size do I choose. 6.5 is the smallest.
Do I need to buy a kids size instead???
These shoes are sized for Men's sizing. Unfortunately 6.5 is the smallest size for these shoes. Since you would need a size smaller than we offer, I would recommend trying a different shoe such at T9500. - DDS Customer Service (11/07/2022)
SH 07/08/2019 Lafayette-la Age: 40 to 49 If I wear a women's size 7 what size should I order in this shoe?
Thank you for your question. For women's fitting we suggest ordering 1.5 sizes smaller than the "street size". For example a women's street size 7 would covert to size 5.5 in these tap shoes. Please remember actual fitting may vary. - DDS Customer Service (07/12/2019)
This tap shoe features 3 heel screws connecting the the heel tap to the shoe and 3 similar screws connecting to the toe tap. - Dancer Girl (08/24/2019)
