Body Wrappers padded, v-front bra features a halter or tank fit. The front cups are joined at the lowest point possible for a deep, secure, uplifting fit. The neckline converts by using the see-through adjustable elastic neck/shoulder straps. The back has a strong, durable clear band. Machine washable.
The bra has decent comfort. Not the most comfortable but not much was expected. The back strap is the biggest problem. After the first use I noticed that the back strap kept falling off the when I took the bra off. It wasn’t a huge deal because the first three times the bra strap fell off I found it. Evenually I lost the bra strap and I needed to order a new back strap. I got the same back strap from the same brand that was specifically made for that bra and the FIRST time I used it, it fell off while I was dance and the bra worked it’s way up to my neck while I was dancing and was visible to the entire Audience. I’m extremely disappointed In this $30 product. What a waste of $30
Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback and we are sorry to hear the strap did not work and fell of. We will review the information and forward your review to the manufacturer. We will contact you shortly.
I bought this to wear under a white leotard for a production. It's held up well for a full week (washing it each night), so I bought a second one. So far, so good. I'm a 34B and the medium fits me well.
I have a few nude bras for performances, but this one is definitely my favorite. The one drawback is that it only comes with plastic straps; I have some nude ones I can switch out, but it would be nice to have options. Aside from that, I feel like it has a good amount of support and padding for a mother of 2 with a 32 C chest. It can be well hidden under most costumes but offers good support.
So I'm a 34DD and luckily I'm used to wearing bras that are just a smidge too small in the cups and a bit too large around the underbust. That exactly describes how size XL of this bra fit me. If the strap had at least been the right size it would've been fine. I find it's more comfortable if I remove the back strap completely and cross the shoulder straps. The shoulder straps slip out from the fabric loops a bit too much for my liking. And the back strap slips off easily too. It gets lost in my tops.
The worst part was that I went to the body wrappers website and found that I could order the bra in a darker color (which would've been preferable for my skin tone) AND that I could order a smaller strap separately. Since I pretty much can't find the strap it came with I'm gonna order a shorter one from the website.
There were good points about the bra though. It's actually pretty supportive and well stitched. Unfortunately it just didn't fit.
I am a 36-38DD. Even though i fell in the large category, I am SO glad I got an XL. It fits pretty good for the most part, the bottom of my boobs hangs out just so slightly. Once i put my leotard and uniform on, I believe it will fit much tighter.
So far, this is the best dance bra we have found. The coverage is definitely the best of those we have tried before,no show through, and it is comfortable. At 1st, the back strap was a bit snug, but it seems to loosen up to a more cutomized fit after a few wearings. It is not adjustable, but is wide and durable. We have never had one break. Because it is cut lower than the others, this bra doesn't show under most costumes at all--no peeking over the top or sides. The 2 biggest problems are the shoulder straps must be snugged up frequently as they do loosen up with movement--never to the point of a "malfunction" but some slippage. We have had them break, most likely because they have to be adjusted frequently--so buy extras. The back strap though, is the biggest concern as it does come off easily--not during a performance, but after changing out of it. No matter how careful, it seems to come off and disappear. Unfortunatley, Discount Dance does not haveclear replacement back straps that fit these hooks,so we have had to order all new bras each time a back strap goes missing. My suggestion is to always have a spare bra just in case!
The bra itself is OK in general, though the way the back strap unhooks could wear it out easily with much use. The back strap is not adjustable, which is also unfortunate. I wear a DD, and the cups of the Large only cover about half, but are well padded.
I had high hopes for this bra because the pictures make it look more supportive than other dance bras. Unfortunately it's not, the only thing it does is provide coverage. The clear straps are very uncomfortable- they are either too lose and falling off of you or digging into your skin. For a performance I had to wear this bra with a nude leo to get minimal support. It seems like a dance bra that provides support for anyone who is bigger than an a cup is impossible. EVen a high quality dance bra is hard to find.
This bra is exactly what I needed for my upcoming performance! Be careful when you're choosing the size, though; even if you're a small cup, consider your ribcage size too. I'm between a 32A and a 34A, and got a small... the back strap is almost too snug for me and I wish it could be adjusted. But the cup size is perfect, so I'm sticking with it! The fabric is comfy, but there's no underwire or much padding so don't expect it to be like your normal bra. The clear back strap is incredibly strong and totally genius, but there are a few areas that are kind of itchy. Turns out the corners of the clear straps, where they're attached to the hooks, were sticking out and I just trimmed them with some scissors.
Definitely worth the money if you've been constantly fussing with bra straps showing under your costumes!
I bought this bra along with another ballerina dance bra for wearing under dance costumes, and hands down, this one is my favorite. It doesn't show under costumes, and it is very comfortable and secure. I love that it is padded, so I never have to worry about being chilly.I'm a 32A, and the XS fits really well. I highly recommend this dance bra.
As a girl with a large chest, I was very skeptical about this garment at first. I read good things about this bra, and having a halter top leotard, this thing works miracles! It's smooth, it fits nicely under my garments, and amazingly, it provides unbelievable support for my chest. The only thing I have an issue with is the back; it seems to slip off frequently. However, it doesn't hinder my dancing at all. I only notice it when I take off my uniform. I love it!
I just want to start by saying I love this bra. It holds in place perfectly, is comfortable, and makes my large chest look smaller and reduces bouncing while I dance. However, the size chart is WAY off. I'm a size 34D and I went with the medium because it said bust measurement 35"-37". The band and straps fit, but I was falling out of the cups. Sadly, I had to give it to a friend because undergarments are non-returnable. I ordered a large, though and it fit perfectly! It's invisible under my ballet, lyrical, modern and jazz costumes. I wish I hadn't had to buy it twice, though.
Okay, so we've all been there: performing at competition/recital when halfway through your number you feel your bra/bandeau/stick on contraption sliding around. We've also all had those wonderful "Janet Moments." Well, dancers, we've finally found the bra that stays put! And I mean it! It is so streamlined and it worked for every single one of my some 15 costumes for spring recital. I've come back for more at the request of my teammates. Everybody wants one! As for sizing- most of us dancers are pretty flat (yay) so if you're anywhere from a 32AA-A, like me, get the extra small. I swear to you, this is the stress-free, no-see best bra ever made for the dance industry. You need one!!!
after wearing it one time the clear strap in the back broke, i need to get a new one asap
We do not offer just the back strap for this item. You would need to repurcahse the item. - DDS Customer Service (03/18/2013)
I have only found clear replacement back straps at a dance store about an hour from home--so I stocked up. Our back strap has never broken, but it seems to slip off easily and go missing when changing out of costumes and returning to the suitcase.Unfortunately, I cannot find clear backstraps to fit the hooks on any online site. - Busybusy (10/21/2013)
If you go to the body wrappers website they do offer other back straps but you don't order it directly from the site. You have to find a store with the store locator. - Omodancer (11/16/2014)
