I've worn Danskin Professional Fishnets for years. They were always more durable and had more lycra in them than any other fishnet available. Over a year ago another company bought Danskin and all of their factories and continued making Danskin products under the same style numbers, but not with the same quality and materials. Don't be fooled these are NOT the same as they used to be. They are made with significantly less lycra than they used to. Please be aware that if you are looking for a "Professional" fishnet, these are no better than buying Capezios or any other brand.
Apparently Danskin has changed their % of quality spandex to more nylon which is not what Professional Dancers need to maintain the shape or hold up to professional wear and tear on stage. These pop holes way too easily, and they fall down for anyone that needs to cut the waist bands away to fit in costumes. I wasted money on two pairs which I am now letting sit in the drawer. I wish one of the companies would go back to making PROFESSIONAL QUALITY, hardcore hold it all in fishnets once again. Yes, now they are super comfortable and fall apart just like $7 fishnet tights do from discount stores.
I first came across these fishnets when I performed in a youth circus as a kid. Now that I perform professionally, I can't live without them. The texture of these fishnets is hard and scratchy and they definitely leave waffle print on your body once you take them off but if you're looking for something to really hold you in and make your legs look flawless while performing, these are great. The scratchy texture is also very protective. They allow for better grip on circus equipment and they make me feel more comfortable in itty bitty spandex leotards. The waistband comes up really high and I usually cut it off. I also generally cut the foot pads out and add elastic to create a stirrup. These are great to wear when your costume offers very little coverage but not comfortable at all for everyday wear.
I been using these tights for 4 years. I am 5'8, and they work perfectly. The main point of it, is that they hold everything... and about the sock lining, you need to know how to use it because they fit well. I totally recommend it.
These are the only fishnets most ice skating shows use. We cut out the feet and wear them over our skates and sometimes need to cut out the waist band. We are experts at repairing these, as they can get expensive. Save the elastic criss crosses when you have an old pair, then crochet it to any hole you have. These suck in any soft spots on your thighs and makes any legs look like Rockettes.
I got these tights last year for a jazz performance. They were not comfortable at all. The tights bore red marks all over my legs, they did not stretch at all, and the sole was very painful to dance on. The size was also a lot smaller than what it said on the chart.
