    PROFESSIONAL SHOE.

For a true performance shoe that is the professional standard, try Freeds. The hard shank is a great option for support. Jet glue immediately for optimum wear. Wish maker requests were an option!

    COMPETENT, ALTHOUGH UNREMARKABLE SHOES

I initially found the Freed Classic Pro pointe shoes too soft for my liking, so I decided to try these. What I can say is, that, unlike many of the Freed Pointe shoes in the Classic line, these shoes are much harder (hence their name), and actually "hold up", in the words of a fellow reviewer; thus dramatically increasing their lifespan. What I do not like about these shoes is, that, the sole reason they're so hard is not because their inner sole/shank is made of a harder material, but because their shank is composed of many, many layers of Red Card and cardboard, making the shank exceedingly thick and ungainly. I had a pair of these, in size 6X, and their shank was approximately 2 centimetres thick. In comparison, the shank of a Grishko pointe shoe in hard shank is about 1.1-1.2 cm thick All of this thickness in these Freeds restrict complete articulation through the foot and makes ease of roll-through extremely difficult.=, at least for me. However, I do understand that some people prefer thicker shanks, so if you happen to be one of these people, then maybe you would like these shoes.

    COMFORTABLE

Durability is a major problem. Shoes are dead after about 3 classes.

    FREEDS THAT ACTUALLY HOLD UP!

In the past, I have used classic freed pointe shoes and they lasted about 2 weeks. I was twelve and my training wasn't that intense so for them to hold up for that long was ridiculous. I tried these and they fit exactly like the classics and hold up much much longer. These have already lasted me more than a month. I am very satisfied with these and I would recommend these to anyone who wants pointe shoes to last.

    THE BEST OF FREEDS

If you're going to spend the money for Freeds, get these. They have all the best aspects of Freeds but these actually DO last longer. I tried the classic pro's first and while they looked and felt great, the toe got very soft INCREDIBLY fast, like, less than one hour of dancing. These are exactly the same except that they have added extra paste in the toebox which helps them stay hard significantly longer. Just remember, they're still Freeds and they aren't going to last as long as other brands. Period.

Does this specific Freed shoe have more than one "maker"?

I know Freeds have many different makers, but is this one built by just one, or what?

Freed does have multiple makers. We so not know which one makes this particular shoe.

How does this sizing run? And how is the width?

I have size 9-9.5 foot and it's very narrow. In the M width, how wide are the boxes? And is the platform large and square?

As a rule of thumb, please order 2 1/2 sizes smaller than your street shoe size, although sizing is a suggestion not a guarentee. The platform is oval in shape. The width X runs approx 3" at the widest portion of the box, on a size 7.0 X. The box on this shoe is considered a wide tapered box.
