07/09/2010I got these shoes about a year ago and they are still going strong. I have used them in The Nutcracker, and lots of other shows. I love how light they are, everyone should buy these shoes.

03/20/2010Great looking shoe however there's LOTS of bunching/material at ball of foot. If you notice the underside photos closely, the distance from tip of shoe to the beginning of the suede patch, it's really long compared to other slippers. So the bunching sits right at the ball of my foot which makes balancing on demi pointe impossible and painful. Unless you have long toes, this is not a comfortable shoe. Sizing should be 1 size larger.
I'd recommend the Grishko Ultimates instead, the ball of foot is very flat and lets you feel the floor as you should.

10/31/2009The sizing was okay, perhaps a half size too small, but my real complaint with this is that the front sole cut across the ball of my foot in an awkward place and hurt my feet a little. Also, the mesh is a nice idea, but I really did not feel a difference from the solid canvas shoes I have had.

Midwest Us,I absolutely love these shoes. They were the first pair of canvas ballet slippers that weren't too big ANYwhere. The mesh inserts feel great on my feet, and really form to my arch instead of getting all bunched like other shoes. I've had them for about four months now and they're just beginning to wear out in the toes and I dance about 4 times a week. I'm going to order my second pair now for recitals.

01/01/2009WOW! I can't even express how wonderful this slipper is. I received it in the mail just today and already fell in love with it. It fits like a glove and is very comfortable. You have to sew the straps, which does take a while, but it makes it more fitting and comfortable. The material is good, also. It's good to dance in and is perfect for beginners. I bought it in a ten, which is about 1/2 size larger than my actual foot. It's perfect for the price! You should buy it!

11/10/2008This is a great shoe. It took me 9 years to find the right shoe and this is the best shoe possible.

09/18/2008These are wonderful! The only downside is how small they run. My daughter wears a 1 in street shoes, and a 3 in these. Keep that in mind when ordering.

California,I got these shoes in size 4 Wide. The wides were narrow and I needed a size 5 or 6. The shoes were very nice but they did not fit.

California,I loved these. They mold really well to your feet because of the mesh insert. They lasted really long and make feet look lovely. I like them better than the Sansha pro 1c's because Sansha's have a very round, almost shovel like toe and these are nice and narrow. I was really disappointed when they got holes in them, and bought Sansha's by mistake.

Chicago,I am currently using these in class but it took several months to 'break in' and almost a year to get used to all the bulk in the sole that screws with my balance. The "bundling" someone else complained about, the lack of grip and generally odd fit. I've never had to 'break in' ballet shoes after the first two or three classes.
I read the reviews and bought it only 1/2 size bigger and it's just slightly big and twists around my foot during promenade (and some turns, dangerous!) but it's really tight and the back eats into my heel so I have to loosen the shoe w/ my finger several times during class. I've tried loosening the draw string but that makes my feet slip around in them even more and it gets very dangerous to dance in. So I am forced to choose discomfort over risk of injury in these.
The only reason why I gave 2 stars is because of the 'vent' but I didn't notice a huge difference from other canvas shoes. I would never buy this one again. Go for the Bloch Round Toe for less than $2 extra, or the Grishko Ultimate.

Alabama,My daughter loves these. The only con is that we have to order these 3 full sizes larger than her street shoes.

Norfolk, Va,I got the Airabesques because I wanted to go back to canvas shoes (my feet sweat a lot in class). I was fitted very carefully, but even so, these shoes feel too big and weirdly bulky, and they have an uncomfortable tendency to slide and bunch in promenade that my old leather shoes don't. My right foot is a half-size smaller than my left, and while I can make that work with leather shoes, I can't do the same with the Airabesques unless I'm willing to buy two different pairs. After a lot of slipping and fighting with the right shoe for a couple of weeks, I'm now wearing the Airabesque on my left foot and an older leather shoe on my right. I don't know, I guess I was just expecting more from these shoes. I don't think I'll be buying them again.

Southern California,I love these shoes, they are my favorite. I buy them every year. They are durable, and make your feet look great. I also like them 'cause whenever they get too dirty, I just throw them in the wash and they great.

10/01/2007I have had these shoes for over a year. Of course they are going to get dirty but other than that they are amazing!!! I am 15 and have been taking ballet for 12 years. I usually get Sansha ballet canvas shoes but I gave these a try last year. I don't find them any more breathable than any other shoe but they look cool. The raised heel does make it a little weird on your foot though. It shifts the shoe a little to the outside of your foot. I don't have one hole in them yet and I have been using them 4 hours a week for a year and a half!!! Great shoes overall. I give them a 4.5

08/18/2007These shoes are comfy but the mesh part didn't make a big difference. I would recommend getting a size larger than your regular size.

07/22/2007These shoes are absolutely comfortable! The mesh padding feels nice, and I love their idea of adding a padding in the heel and ball of the shoe! It helps me spring higher when I jump! I love the color, it blends in with my tights. They look so good on my feet! I love the net that shows outside of the shoe. It's easier to air out, and makes my feet less sweaty and hot! 5 stars!

Chicago, Il,I've had these shoes for a year & I already have a hole in the bottom! They get dirty too fast and they look funny on my feet. The only good thing about them is the first couple weeks, they looked nice.

02/23/2007I've bought 3 pairs of these recently, and they are very comfortable. The only problem is that they have no grip! I've fallen so many times, but the price is great and they really help your arch.

01/30/2007These are the only ballet shoes I buy. They are perfect in every way. They wear out fast but what ballet shoes don't? I HIGHLY recommend them!

Michigan,I feel professional in these. I'm just beginning ballet at 14 but I can do so much with these! I pulled off my first double in class yesterday with these. When I first got 'em, I thought they'd be too tight. I wore them for 5 minutes and they quickly formed to my feet. The color is pretty too. The pink is pretty and looks great with my tights. I had an issue with sewing the elastic but I quickly caught on...If you want good ballet slippers, check these out!

Pennsylvania,They are nice, but both of my pairs of these have gotten holes by the big toe, the outside part of your foot by the balls of your feet, and at the bottom of the heel, within 4/5 months. Also, I don't like the raised ball and heel padding. It takes a while to get used to/squish down, but once you do that it is really comfortable. Before they start to rip and after you have 'broken them in', they are a good pair of shoes. They show off your arch nicely. I do recommend wider than normal though.

12/02/2006I found the length to fit like street shoes, but the M was too wide for my narrow feet. I wish they came in N; they'd probably work a lot better. The mesh insole is definitely strange at first. It felt like there was just too much stuff in my shoes, when I'd rather have a better connection to the floor. I got used to it, but I'm not sure I'd buy these shoes again.

11/22/2006These are good shoes. The canvas is really flexible and light and the mesh lining does a lot. The medium however, is very narrow, so I recommend getting a large width if you normally get medium width.

08/25/2006I love these slippers. They have nice colour and on the inside of them, the foot bed is padded. They are so elegant.

Usa,I used Bloch Pumps before these and decided to give them a try. The color is a brighter, fresher pink, and the mesh is extremely soft and comfortable. Turning is easier with these canvas flats. I'd recommend these. For sizing, I find it to be consistent with "same as street." I wore a size 4.5 B in Bloch canvas Pumps, I wear a 7.0-7.5 M street shoe size, and I ordered a 7.0 M in these. Fit perfectly.

05/29/2006I think this shoe is a really good shoe. The mesh insoles are great, and it is light and inexpensive. I would recommend these to everyone.

California,They are very average, and didn't last long for me. I don't know if I am the only one, but the insides fell apart and the soles aren't very big at all. They are good for when you are on a tight budget, but for a few dollars more, you can get the "pump" ballet slippers from Bloch.
