Treedddance12/28/2017 Floral Park,NYNICE SHOE - HARD TO SIZE
I purchased these shoes about 3 years ago in a size 8 (I usually wear a 7) and they fit perfect. I recently purchased another pair...same shoe, same size and they are too small. So frustrating! Have to return. Customer service at DDS was very nice and helpful when I called about issue.

I ordered the shoe a full size up from my street shoe size. And the 6.5 that was delivered couldn't even get my foot into it. It looked more like a 4.5 than a 6.5. I've purchased these before and they fit.

These shoes are pretty on the feet and that's about it. First, they were extremely slippery. I had to go scuff them up in the street before I could do any sort of turning in them. It took me a while to learn to walk in them, let alone dance because the heel is so thin which isn't great for dancing. The nail under the heel began to loosen and the material ripped on the shoes almost immediately. My friend also had a pair and the shoes shredded during the process of one production. Invest in better shoes.

Sunnie07/27/2015DECENT BUT NOT DURABLE
It's hard to find a character shoe you can easily dance in, looks good, and is also 3 inches. I have had these shoes in black for a year and they now have tears in them and I am needing new ones. The leather is not very durable. When you first get them, they are very slippery and hard to turn and dance in. You have to go outside and scuff them up on the sidewalk or in the street. Also, if you are not used to dancing in this high of a heel, it will be a shock at first but you will get used to it. The actual heel is not very steady and feels as if you need to put your weight in the balls of your feet as the heel does not offer much support. I will be trying a different brand, but these have been decent shoes for heavy Musical Theatre dance. They create a beautiful leg line and make the legs look very sexy and effeminate.

sahmc07/09/2015READ ABOUT SIZE BEFORE ORDERING
3rd times a charm, right?? This is the third time I have to order these shoes for my daughter for show choir. I read the information on the shoes and they say to order street shoe size, so I did. She couldn't even fit her foot into them. Ordered a half size up. Still way to small. I would recommend ordering a full size up from street shoe size. This is crazy that I have to send 2 pairs back. I'm hoping the third pair fits cause this is the exact shoe that is needed and you can't buy it locally to try it on for exact size.

Tenduman09/24/2014NT HARD WEARING
The shoes scuffs too easily. By that I mean the material peeled - particularly at the front - after the first rehearsal. I don't think I'll be buying this shoes again. I'm glad I bought just one. I'll be looking for another brand made with real leather for the rest of my dance company. I would not recommend this shoes.

I had a pair of SoDanca before these and they fit well, though they were size 8. I bought these in an 8.5 and they fit about the same as my other pair. Overall very good shoe and very durable. Has lasted me through 5 3-month long shows and still comfortable.

silly106/28/2014DANCE THE NIGHT (AND DAY) AWAY IN THESE
I originally ordered a pair of these shoes about ten years ago when I was recovering from a broken back and subsequent sciatica :( Since then I've recovered and graduated from the lower heel to the 3". I literally where them day & night--whenever I go out! I've had a pair in black and in tan to match virtually any outfit and replace them approximately every 2 years. This time I'm ordering three #3# pairs in order to have them in caramel too!

MamaMG02/21/2014NT SURE...
I was impressed by the rave reviews on this site for this shoe, and although I prefer leather, I thought I'd give these a try. Out of the box, I immediately thought they'd go back--I ordered the tan color, but it looked kind of pale and mealy to me--but I must admit they are quite comfortable. The heel height and thickness are perfect, and they make my legs look long and muscular, but the vamp is a little odd... It comes up much higher than most character shoes, and makes them look a little dowdy. It also doesn't fit flush with my foot and gaps a bit. The bottoms are incredibly slick; if I was going to keep them I'd definitely add the rubberized bottoms if I was working on wood floors. I slipped around multiple times just walking on mine. Ultimately, while there are pros and cons, I think these are going back. I'd rather spend another $20 and get real leather that will mold to my foot, but if these weren't PU, I'd probably keep them. I'm a street shoe 9, but these fit decently in a 10.

Orange09/18/2013NICE BUT TEENY
Ordered in size 9.5. I'm always a 9 in street shoes but followed advice of other reviewers. Should've gotten a 10. Show opens a weeks from tomorrow. Hoping the 10's I just ordered come quickly. Other than size they appear to be high quality and comfy, especially the padded insole.

natashia09/11/2013AMAZING!
It was my first pair of character shoes, and they are amazing. I followed the size chart, and they worked just fine for me. 3 inch heels are great, takes some time to get used to it, but I did competitive ballroom (Latin) for 4 years, so it was a lot easier than dancing in my latin shoes. I got them for my performance, and yes, 3 inch heels are way better than anything lower. It makes your legs look better ;)

Sash05/28/2013COMFORTABLE BUT RUNS SMALL
I love these shoes!! They are the most comfortable 3" heels I have ever worn for dancing. Unfortunately, the shoes run small and are more suited for those with narrow feet. Mine are pretty wide. Even though I followed the size guidelines, it was quite tight for me. Initially I thought I just needed to break into them. But after a week long of rehearsing 6 hours daily, it became so uncomfortable I had to stop wearing them. It's a shame, as I would have loved to wear it for my performance. Guess I'd have to purchase a bigger one or seek for another alternative that is as comfortable as these.

Terry01/04/2013GREAT SHOES!
These shoes are fantastic. They were my first pair of character shoes, and I didn't want to get the popular short heel just because I didn't see the point in them. These are very comfortable and you can wear them for hours! The material is really pliable and is good quality. I would recommend getting sandpaper or a tough brick wall and just rubbing the bottom on it, to rough it up and give you more traction. The soles come super smooth. My street size is 8, I had to size up half a size.

I use these for swing and club dancing- and find it easier in these 3" heels than in the traditional lower ones! I highly recommend these to anyone wanting that longer-legged/high-heel/classy look, but needing something more substantial/stabilizing than a stilletto heel.
They hold up beautifully and look nearly new despite years of hard dancing. The metal strengthening bar on the heel makes them nearly indestructible.

Shani08/07/2011 Northern Illinois,FABULOUS!
I was a little wary of spending so much on a shoe I wouldn't wear a lot, but upon reading the reviews, I decided to go for it, and WOW am I glad I did! I wear a street shoe size 8, and decided to go for the 9.5 which was a good decision. These shoes fit my feet like they were custom-made for me. The heels look fantastic, and the cushion inside feels wonderful. They take a little while to break in, so be patient, but in general, I highly approve of these shoes.

Shimmies Galore06/23/2011BEST IN ITS CLASS!
I've tried many different character shoes but love the inside cushioning on this one (both underneath the sole of your foot, as well as surrounding the upper!). Your feet just feel so wrapped up and supported in it. I even paraded a couple of miles in these shoes and they didn't kill me!
The heel is so nice that other dancers frequently ask if they're higher than 3 inches! I just wish the vamp weren't so high on top of my foot, but it's comfortable, but in some pictures looked almost "grannyish," as one of my friends put it.

Leigh04/30/2010 Ct,5 STARS FOR COMFORT AND DURABILITY!
I was worried that dancing in 3" heels would be too difficult but wanted the look of a higher shoe. Well, these are the easiest character shoes I've ever had to dance in. They are incredibly comfortable; I've never gotten a blister or had tired feet from dancing in them. And they're also incredibly durable. The heel is very supportive and after 4 years of owning the shoes they still feel strong and there's not a single scratch mark on them. They look brand new. I can't recommend a character shoe more strongly.

Yay! I wear these for character shoes and for burlesque dancing. I was tired of the dumpy 2" character shoes, very unsexy! With these I don't need to sacrifice sexiness onstage for comfort! <3

K08/10/2009 Tampa, Fl,LOVE THEM
I love this shoe. On my last job, I was given 4 pairs of Capezios, and I absolutely prefer my Sodancas to them. I always prefer a 3" heel, since anything less looks dumpy on my 5'8" frame, and these look much prettier on my foot than the Capezio 3". The upper is flexible and comfortable, and easy to point in. The only problem I ran into was when the strap tore almost entirely from the shoe during a shoe. That was, however, most likely due to my roughness as I was attempting a quick change. Lol. I HIGHLY recommend this shoe.

LadyM 07/26/2018 Tiverton-ri Are this shoes okay to wear on a daily basis, such as work?
These character shoes are built especially for performing on wooden stages, with leather uppers and soles (real or synthetic). So they dont do well on concrete or asphalt. - DDS Customer Service (08/31/2018)
TheaterGal88 05/20/2014 Age: 25 to 34 Is the silver brace very noticeable on stage when dancing?
I'm interested in buying these shoes, but I am nervous that the silver braces underneath will be distracting when dancing onstage. Has anyone had a problem with that who bought these shoes? Or has anyone made a comment about a silver piece on the bottom of the shoe? I already own LaDucas and I love them, but they don't make them in the Mary Jane style.
Thanks for your help!
We have not had any complaints about the braces being noticeable or distracting. - DDS Customer Service (05/29/2014)
I have not gotten any comments on them, but there are a cheaper pair of 3 inch character shoes on this site that do not have the metal brace if you are worried about it - Sunnie (07/27/2015)
The taps we sell would either be the super taps or teletone taps. You can search for them on our website using style "ST" or "TT". You can print out a fitting guide on each tap page so that you can size the shoes correctly. - DDS Customer Service (04/08/2013)
Risa 12/21/2012 California Age: 17 or under Different heel size?
Hi, I saw this exact same shoe at my local dance store but with a 2in. heel. I loved how comfortable it was, but it was a half-size too small. Is there any chance that you would sell this model with a different heel height?
We do have the Style CH52 which is the 2" So Danca Character Shoe - DDS Customer Service (12/21/2012)
