Ballerinabrain. 03/20/2014 Ca Age: 17 or under will it really help?
My dance studio recently bought one of these and I was able to complete about 5 turns on it, I'm a bad/average turner I can usually get a double on the left [my bad side] and sometimes a triple or a quadruple on my right [ my 'good side'], usually just a clumsy double. I'm very concerned on whether or not it will really help, lots of people have said their turns got much worse after using it, and some people have said they've improved very much. i just don't want to risk my turns getting any worse, is it worth it?
Don't risk it!!!!!!! I recently got one and it's so much fun!!! The problem is it's so much fun that it'll make you tell yourself it's doing good when really it's ruining what you already have of your turns - Sofc (04/10/2014)
I recently started dancing, I just started taking ballet this year and have taken Jazz for a year- so I'm no expert. I wasn't great at turning, but after using the turning board for a week of so I could effortlessly do a triple pirouette (without practicing turning without it). I now can do five turns on my good leg if I have the right shoes on and a good floor, so I have seen a lot of improvement from using the turning board. It helps with spotting too! Everyone may have a different experience with it, but for someone that already has their triple, I don't see this product making their turns worse :) - Lilydancer25 (01/22/2015)
ballet4life 01/26/2014 California Age: 17 or under Effectiveness?
Does this turnboard actually help with pirouettes? Is the purpose to improve turns or just for fun?
This board is designed to assist in developing turns. - DDS Customer Service (01/28/2014)
Yes, it really does! I used to hardly be able to do double pirouettes on flat and now I can consistently do triples to the right! Still working on the left ;) It takes time and getting used to but it really works! - Bunhead412 (02/11/2014)

YES! This is both fun and helps with pirouettes and other turns. - Doglover1 (05/29/2014)
For me, it was very effective. It feels like a toy when you're on it, but really helps spotting and getting the feel for how to get more pirouettes. Hope this helps :) - Lilydancer25 (01/22/2015)

VaDanceM9m 01/08/2014 Virginia, Usa Designed for ballet slippers only ?
My daughter takes all forms of dance. Can she use this bare footed ? Can she use it with ponte shoes ?
This board should be fine to use with ballet slippers or bare feet, however we would not recommend using this board while wearing pointe shoes. - DDS Customer Service (01/08/2014)
I use it barefoot and in my ballet shoes. I tried it in pointe shoes and it didn't work very well, all my weight was in my heel. - Bunhead412 (02/11/2014)
Anything works - Sofc (04/10/2014)
I'm sorry I said anything! You can use basically anything but pointe shoes because on it you need to turn flat foot. - Sofc (04/10/2014)
AnaDancer 12/26/2013 California, Usa Age: 17 or under Is this worth the money?
I have seen mixed reviews for this product and am just wondering if this is worth it and if it helps you a lot with your turns. Thanks so much!
This is a top seller for us, and I personally have not had any negative feedback on this item. The feedback I received is that it does assist greatly with turns. - DDS Customer Service (12/27/2013)
In all reality no. It's lots of fun but in the end it does no good. It actually makes you worse! - Sofc (04/10/2014)
My carpet is basic, not high, apartment carpeting, but practicing turns could actually be legit at home if this worked on it.
Though I have seen some customer use this on carpet, it is not recommended. - DDS Customer Service (05/20/2013)
Not really, the way its designed is so that you can keep turning on a solid surface (wood or other kind of floor). Good luck! - Dancerbrit (12/05/2013)
Is this loud when it is being used on hardwood floors?
when I use it on my hardwood floor it does not make any noise and it also does not scratch the floors, it is very well made. - Dancedivak96 (03/19/2013)
No. When you are turning it does not really make any sound at all. - Lena517 (10/05/2013)
It doesn't really make that much noise, just like a light sound like something is being dragged across a floor (but not too heavy) hope this helps! - Dancerbrit (12/05/2013)
