The Pro Pads by Bunheads are designed with no gel under the foot so the dancer has only thin fabric under the toes. A layer of gel inside a fabric-covered pouch cushions the tops and the tips of the toes. As with all of Bunheads products, the gel doesn't migrate. 2 per pack.

    BEST TOE PADS!

These are my favorite toe pads. They are thin enough to let you feel the floor and provide just the right amount of comfort! I have tried many different pair and these are the best. They do run a little on the smaller side. I wear a size 7 sneaker and a size large is perfect!

    SEAMS ARE PAINFUL.

I have been using the bunheads ouch pouch for years but wanted a change. I tried these and even though i really enjoy how there is no padding on the ball of the foot, the two seams on the top of the pouch dig into my toes and cause a massive amount of pain. I have gone back to the ouch pouch, still looking for a toe pad without padding on hte ball of the foot.

    ALL YOU NEED

My daughter started out on pointe with lambswool pads, then she moved on to silicone because they last longer, but had trouble balancing with them. She was offered a pair of pro pads to try on new pointes at a different fitter. She INSTSNTLY fell in love with them. There is no padding on the base of the pad, where you want to feel the floor. She now needs no powder, no tape, & uses only a slip on gel toe sock for her big toe!

    GOOD...BUT THEY DON'T LAST

I don't have any issues with the fit or comfort of this pad, except that it's got a long vamp that you'll want to cut so it doesn't poke out of your pointe shoe vamp. But that's easy stuff, no big deal. What I do have an issue with is the four large holes in the gel from the pressure points on my big toes which are the reason I wear these darn things in the first place. After 2 months, there are holes on one side, the other side, switching feet and turning them inside out. I can't wear them anymore without my poor big toe joint being naked and exposed! My ouch pouch jr's lasted for three years and counting so I expected to get some wear out of these. Guess not...

    JOLLY GOOD

Bunheads is a great company and I appreciate a lot of their work, no exception here. The pro Pads were my third Bunheads toe pads and the winner out of the pack. I had the regular large ouch pouch until they wore through and enjoyed them. I grabbed the aqua/lime in the same style but found them more gel filled and quit trying immediately. The great thing about the Pros is that they don't have gel under your metatarsal, just over the tops of your toes. You may need a tiny bit of something in the end of your box to help them along, but it just depends on the person. The seam at the end isn't completely perfect as they tend to allude to but I haven't had to much discomfort that I wouldn't get more of somewhere else. Haven't worn through yet and I got them in August or September.

GOOD ENOUGH, BUT NOT MY FAVORITE

I got these to try as I've heard great things about gel toe pads. However, they seemed too thin, moved around, and made my toes ache more at the barre. They got me through my performance okay, but I really prefer half lambs wool half gel pads. I plan on adding some wool in my shoe, and maybe that will help with comfort. Were too expensive though to not be wonderful. They seem longer lasting than wool toe pads, so that's the best thing about the price.

    WONDERFUL!

Info: -I dance about 5-6 hours a week on pointe. -I have been on pointe for 21/2 - 3 years -I have small bunions and normal width feet. -I have slightly tapered toes These are the perfect toe pads! All toe pads should be made like this! There is only cushioning where you need it, which enables you to feel the floor perfectly. It doesn't feel bulky or cramped at all! These were my first toe pads I have ever worn. I started wearing them about a month or two ago because I was having serious problems with my callouses ripping and being really inflamed. My podiatrist told me I would get tendinitis in my big toe joints if I didn't start wearing toe pads. These are a wonderful compromise if you don't like wearing toe pads. Wonderful toe pads that were comfortable, provided the perfect amount of protection, and are still usable. Will definitely buy these again! Buy these instead of those awful, bulky gel toe pads that cause injury. Oh and also wear these under your tights, because I made the mistake of wearing them over and the toe pad slipped around, causing my feet to get all ripped up. *DISCLAIMER* My only complaint about these is if you dance a lot like I do (I wear them every single day) they start to smell SO bad, and I mean reek! If you want to save your parents/ballet teacher/classmates a lot of grief, buy two pairs so you wash one pair and let it dry while you are wearing the other pair. Also, the fabric on the underside of the toe pad got a little bit ripped up, but it doesn't affect my dancing at all.

    OK, HAVE SOME QUALMS THO

I love the idea of a toe pad that is minimalistic. I really don't understand why anyone needs the bottom of the sole padded with gel, so this pro pad made the perfect sense! However, I have some issues with the sizing/shape and the design of where the cushioning ends.. first, i have pressure points at the joints where my 2 smallest toes connect to the rest of my feet, so I had to get the large if I wanted the pad to reach that high up my toes. The small pad was significantly smaller...I feel like they should have a medium...it's either really big or really small...but, now, the pad is a tad baggy everywhere else. and it sticks out of my pointe shoe...(i use grishko 2007 with a cut-down v-shaped vamp...my 2007s came with a very high vamp) then, the pad doesn't cover all of the tips of your toes...it's just covers the top half! so I'm always trying to "wrap it" over the tips of my toes, so that when i'm en pointe, the entire tips get covered! it definitely takes the rubbing and pressure off the top of my toes and the joints that jut out (metatarsal area), but it's still quite lacking...I'm still looking for alternatives. i don't have a problem with the seams, however, like other reviewers. i don't feel them at all.

These toe pads provide just enough cushion without bulking up the shoe. I have a fairly wide foot so I don't need a bulky toe pad making them wider. I dance en pointe 12-18 hrs a week. I've had these toe pads for about 4 months and (aside from being a bit dirty) they still look like new -and that is an absolute FIRST for me. Overall I'm very pleased with them.

    SOFT SEAMS.

These are the pads I was told to try when I went for my first fitting, and I've only ever tried on point shoes wearing these. They are thin, but supportive, and not too sticky, slippery or sweaty like some gels can be. I just can't get over the seams though. Perhaps I have a bad pair, but the seams aren't exactly soft. If I'm fresh and rested and my feet are happy with me, these are wonderful. If I've already done an hour of technique in flat shoes, or come straight from an 8 hour shift standing at a checkout counter, these seems are like rocks under my toes! It's at that point that I switch over to my gels. I can't wait for my gel tips to come in, so I can just slip them into the ends of these for my unhappy-feet days.

    PRETTY GOOD

I liked them pretty well (they were my first pair of pointe shoe pads.) My pointe shoes have a super thick shank so having only cloth on the bottom didn't really make a difference. I have so many things in my shoes so they tended to come off before I put my tights over. The woman who fit them said i should use them and I have never used anything else. I love them and the gel is in cloth so they don't get all sweaty.

GREAT IF YOU LIKE THIN PADS...

These are perfect if you only like a small amount of padding. There's no gel under your toes, so you're not over-padded. They don't make my toes numb, but they offer the best amount of protection. I love these!

    What size should I get?

I have small but wide feet...

I would measure how high you need it to come up. The vamp measures 3 1/2" at the widest point and 2 7/8" at the smallest (on a size small). A size large measures 3 7/8" at the widest point and 2 7/8" at the smallest.

These will probably fit, as I have small and narrow feet. - Iloveleotards (01/06/2015)
