Normally, I slip a lot in pointe shoes but with this, I can dance instead of worrying about breaking something. My one complaint is that this product is actually cheaper on amazon since shipping for this is about 7.00 and shipping for this on amazon is about 4.00.

RIGHT TO THE POINTE!
Great product! I decided to bring my own rosin to pointe class, so I could always be sure I had some available. I bought an inexpensive plastic container with a lid (shoe box style) to store it in. You only need a small amount of rosin in the box. Myself and fellow dancers, all take turns using the rosin. I keep the plastic box full of rosin, in a plastic bag (grocery bag), when I'm not using it. This helps keep it separate from other items in my dance bag.

I was satisfied with this rosin, but it's huge! It's the size of my forearm! I have been having problems with falling on pointe lately, so I ordered this, used it in class, and immediately felt a difference. I liked that it was crushed, but I had a hard time not spilling it all over the place. I thought that there would be something to help you dispense it. Overall though, five stars.

I'M NOT AFRAID OF FALLING ANYMORE!
I own this stuff, and man does it work. Now in class I have my own personal rosin, and I'm not afarid of falling anymore. I don't worry constantly, and can focus freely on me. I love this stuff!

This product is generally used on the soles and platforms of the pointe shoes to prevent slipping while dancing. I would not recommend using to to keep your shoes from slipping off of your heels. - DDS Customer Service (11/26/2014)

There is no reason why you couldn't use these on your flats. Typically the rosin is used on pointe shoes because the satin on the outside of the shoes does not grip the floor. Typical ballet shoes have the suede/leather bottom already that gives a better grip on the floor, not typically needing any extra "rosin" or chemical to make the shoe stick more. - DDS Customer Service (05/28/2013)

The container reads "to reduce friction", which I am pretty sure is exactly the opposite of what it does.
The use of rosin is to reduce the slippage that can accure while dancing on wood floors, yes it reduces the friction between the dance floor and dance shoes being worn, EX Pointe Shoes - DDS Customer Service (01/03/2013)
