1816C Sizes 8-12 runs very small and barely fits my 11 year old who is 80lbs, 60 inches tall. She can't get them up her legs all the way and the waist band is very tight even though she's on a slim side.

Capezio Ultra Soft Transition Tights have been my go to tights for all three of our dancers forever. They are durable and comfortable.

They are pretty comfortable tights but were a bit tight. I had to stretch them out so they could fit but overall they are great.

I bought these instead of the tights that are half the price because they seemed really good quality. Which they are. However there is thick sticking inside the back of the waistband that my daughter says is uncomfortable when she is on her back in dance class. It's thick enough to press into her lower back. For comfort, She prefers the tights on this site that are half the price so I will just keep getting those.

All I can say about these tights is that I love them! They run a little big but not by much. They are so comfortable and I really like how soft they are! After like a month or two, I get a hole around my big toe but I just use hair spray on it to help prevent it from getting any worse. And when the hole gets to big, I just make the tights footless! Other than that, the product is amazing and I love them so much! I would totally buy these if you are wavering!

These tights are much softer than the Capezio hold and stretch which D has worn for years. The child 8-12 appears to be the same size as the ADULT small Capezio hold and stretch, and in fact may even have a bit more stretch in the legs. The material is more comfortable, and the waistband is the same somewhat stiff elastic we are used to with Capezio. D likes the waistband of Capezio, so this is not a problem for her. She is a lean 11yo, 4ft11, under 80 lbs. We have had them 3 months, no runs, and the color has held up similarly to other Capezio's.

Very disappointed as I just received my shipment and was quite surprised when I went to open the tights I bought for my daughter which I ordered in a size small/medium to find they were a size 2-6! I admit I guess I should have looked closer at the sizing info or chart, but usually a small/medium is considered a 6-8 which is the size I need. I realize it may be the fault of the maker Capezio for offering only 2 sizes, but it would be helpful if Discount Dance Supply could change the size drop down menu to specify the actual number sizes. In any case, I like the tights and I generally prefer Capezio over other brands.

Be careful when ordering as sizes are deceiving. A SM/Med is not a true Sm/Med as it is only a size 2-6. I mistakenly ordered a SM/Med thinking it was more of a "true" Sm/Med which in most items is a 6-8 range and the tights I got were more for a toddler vs a child as they are sized for a 2-6.

True to size. Great quality. Comfortable. My daughter has been using these capezio tights for several years now. She usually has about 3 pairs at a time and dances 13 hours/week. They seem to last about 3-4 months. This is a great quality. Highly recommend. We wash them in a linen bag and let them hang dry.

The natural looks very pink. We ordered a "Nude" colored leotard and the "Natural" tights to match. The tights look pink next to the leotard. You may want to try another option if you're going for the natural/nude look. And I noticed you can't return the tights, even if you haven't even tried them on. Just a heads up. Tights seem like they are great quality though.

These are the best children's tights, by far! My daughter is very picky, but insists these are actually comfortable. And they are much more resilient than many of the competitor's tights. Highly recommended!

My kids love these tights! I have an 8 year old and an 11 year old who dance. They wear the tights every week for ballet and they very rarely get holes. (I think the 8 year old is just harder on her stuff She like to pull on them and scoot around on the carpet. The older one loses color on her tights before getting holes.) They wear them to school quite often as well. I usually buy 1 new pair of tights per year for recital and they usually use them the rest of the year for class. They have a lot of quick changes in shows as well, and these will layer nicely.

I am a ballet teacher. I got these tights for my little girl this year. She is 3 1/2. the seam on the back of the waist band is very hard. i kept wondering why she was always scratching her back - so much so that she barely danced in her showcase (not like her at all - she is very out going) when I took the tights off I noticed a very red and irritated indention on her back from the seam. otherwise the tights are soft and durable but will not buy again until something is done to smooth out the waist band.

My girl complained about softness and comfortability. These tights are nice and soft, and although the hole at the foot takes a little getting used to, it is very handy for rolling up the tight and wearing a cotton sock. The waistband is not professional quality, and we would like it to be softer, but for the price and overall, it is tolerable.

Transition tights are the way to go if you daughter has any issues with wearing tights to class. The elastic waist band is soft and not to tight, which is another one of my daughter complaints. I wash them in a lingerie laundry bag, which keeps them looking great.

These tights are required at my studio for classes and recital. I buy a new pair every fall. They are so comfy and I love how the are transition tights because for ballet and jazz I need them footed but for lyrical I need them up like leggings. They do get runs and holes in them after a while. I use them all through fall classes then through summer classes before I have to get a new pair. They are so easy to size and they always fit perfectly. I won't wear any other brand.

I absolutely love these tights. My ballet instructor made me buy them when I first started in 2002. I have had my share of tights and I wouldn`t wear anything different.

My daughter loves these tights because they are very comfortable. But, 3 out 4 pairs over the last year got runs in them beginning at the hole in the foot either the 1st or 2nd time she wore them. Very disappointing.

I love these capezio tights. I wont wear any other brand. Theyre very comfy and really do what their meant to do well- which is to keep your legs warm so they can go higher. I definetely notice a difference in my dancing when im wearing these. I do have one pair that have ripped pretty easily but all my others are still in tact even after 2 years.

My 7 year old daughter is just a size 8 (and on the short side for the size) yet the size 8 to 12 are very small on her. They're extremely tight and hard to get on. On the other hand, they're very durable. Love the overall quality, hate the discomfort. She gets upset every time we have to put them on her.

These tights are the best. They don't stretch out and become baggy like others and the convertible feet is a great feature. They stay soft and elastic and we get tons of wear from them.

Is this style comparable to Capezio 1916

The 1816 is comparable to the 1916. The difference in the two is the waistband. The 1816 has an elastic waistband and the 1916 has a Self Knit waistband.

Ballet pink is our more popular color in this specific item. The colors can, and will, differ per manufacturer but for this particular pair of tights, ballet pink would be the more appropriate choice. Light pink is almost a skin tone in these tights, as opposed to the true pink of ballet pink.

A lot of people like these tights, but i don't want to sped more money on the adult sizes. I am 5'5"and weight 94 pounds.

The largest size in the child tights will fit a height of 46" - 64" and a weight of 50 - 90 lbs.

We have some ballet tights where the waistband is made out of a material similar to the tights and our other ones have a piece of elastic for the waistband, which stands out a lot more under the leotard and is not as comfortable. What type of waistband do these have? Is it one similar to the ones on Spanx?

This item has a a 1" plush elastic waistband.

These have an elastic waist band, that can be seen through most leotards. However the waist band is softer on these tights then other brands we have tried. - Makennasmom (12/11/2013)
